Maplewood Inn

It's a crisp fall day in New England, and you're browsing a small shop that sells candles and old books. The floors are the original hardwood and you notice they're slightly dusty as they creak beneath your feet. The quiet shopkeeper is reading a book, and reminds you only once to let them know if you need help finding anything, in between sips of their sweet, spicy tea. You're then left alone to browse at your leisure for the rest of the afternoon.

Ooh, this is a good one. Their maple-spice-candle (like in Kitchen and others) is a major note, but this one’s not quite as gourmand as those; it’s got a fair amount of wood both fresh and smoky, like a fire burning in the hearth with a pile of newly split pine logs next to it. Gives it an incense angle that I really love, on top of the sweet mug of chai.

I love this so much! Lots of maple (not like maple syrup, more like the wood) and smoke with sweet vanilla and spice. This is one of my most-complimented perfumes. It is intense at first with powerful smokey notes, but mellows out into a warm, cozy, gourmand. Perfect for fall. It does really well in cold weather IMO.

This opens as a new cedar chest, then, gradually, the maple sweetness starts to seep in, closely followed by tendrils of smoke from a newly lit wood fire. It takes time for all these elements to appear. The far dry down is very sweet incense atop a single cedar plank. It never becomes as smooth as I would prefer but I think that only adds to the windswept, autumnal experience. It really is a casual, effortless, organically unkempt type of fragrance that could easily be the signature of a renegade or wildling. Perfectly unisex if you're into reckless woods. And if you really want to see what a scent can do, YOU MUST GIVE IT A FULL WEARING ON SKIN, minimum 4 hours.

woody, smoky, almost cinnamony goodiness. Reviewers before me mentioned it is not the syrup that they get with this one ... not sure about the distinction, on fragrantica, the page with the 'maple' note description says 'Thick, sweetish note that recalls maple syrup with woody hints'.Anyway, tree saps, leaves etc. and whatever is produced from them tend to smell similarly. If I'm pressed to tell maple syrup and the 'maple' note apart, then maybe the maple here does not smell as sweet and condensed as maple syrup. but I do think that people smelling this not knowing these fine differences, they would instantly associate it with maple syrup. Anyway, I stop babbling now. If you like woody scents and maple syrup, you cannot go wrong with this one. :) p.s. maplewood inn dries down to a lovely spicy-smoky vanilla base, a bit similar to Postprandial.

This is lovely, however it is quite linear. I thought it was an oil perfume because of how slowly it was developing, then I realized it's just an extremely linear eau de parfum. I still like it, and I'll happily wear it when I need a safe, unobtrusive scent for the office, but it's never going to be a "great" for me because it only has its one pleasant scent profile and it doesn't do anything more interesting than that. It reminds me of a wax-warmer scent because of it.

This smells completely different on my skin than a lot of the reviews I've read. It smells exactly like maple syrup on me! I wish it smelled more woodsy on my skin but it truly is just like dolloping maple syrup on myself. Maybe that's from the chai note? It's really delicious but I have to be in the right mood for it. I may pair this with a woodsy foresty scent to help bring out more of the maple wood.

Does what it says on the tin. A fire, a wooden lodge and steaming chai. The opening is very smoky but settles gradually, letting a bit of syrupy sweetness through the cracks of the wood. A contender for the ultimate fall fragrance, it's the olfactory equivalent of a deep, burning reddish orange.

It smells like sticky tree sap, rustling leaves and warmth. This brings back memories of my childhood, so I adore this one. It's not overly sweet on me, but I do smell maple syrup on myself mixed with some woodsy notes and smoke. I don't smell the spice too much.

Woods, chai spice, and maple syrup. Leans masculine. Atmospheric but wearable. It’s so beautiful, like a better version of By the Fireplace.

I get zero sweetness from this and not too much tea or spices, instead it just comes across as extremely woody on me, as the review below mentioned. Smelled like I was in a lodge.

NOT what I expected. On me it smells like a freaking cedar chest. No smokiness, no sweetness, just a wood lodge with cedar beams. I had high hopes because I love every other one of their fragrances that I've tried so far, but this just wasn't it.

This goes too smoky on me, even years after aging my roller ball. It has everything I want, but it's only super smoky chai tea. Funny enough, these notes are what I smell in Loggia, and that is one of my faves.
