Rose Mallow Cream

Oh, yum. So, I bought a few samplers from Solstice a few years ago, used them a fair amount, and eventually started moving on to using other frags. I love variety and trying new things. I also don't love samples with a wand applicator, prefer spray or roller ball, but I do love a lot of their blends, though I wish many of them lasted longer. Lately, I've been revisiting some of the more warm weather friendly ones, as it's summer, and today I went for Rose Mallow Cream. I think time was very good to this one! I originally thought it was just alright, pleasant, but maybe a bit boring and light. Maybe I was just smelling too many at once before, maybe it got better, maybe both, but I really am wowed by how lovely it is. It's not just a sickly sweet candy scent, it has some depth. It has that addictive quality where I can't stop smelling my arms, and I kept getting delicious little wafts of myself all day, which made me feel happy. You usually don't get real, high quality rose like this in fragrance, so many are synthetic, and it really does hit a bit different. It's almost a bit spicy, like carnation, but it must be the rose, as it has no carnation or cinnamon listed. Those are two of my favorite notes, and the rose in this is similar to my nose. I guess I have smelled actual roses this intoxicating, you just usually don't get it from perfume! I'm not really getting powdery, mostly rose, strawberry, white chocolate, and marshmallow notes. I do get a bit of musk, lending a smidge of sophistication to balance the sweet and tart candied strawberry notes, though the rose also does that, and is the star. It is a bit of a skin scent, which is not my preference. I reapplied a few times, so I could smell it enough to enjoy, and try to create a scent bubble for my husband to enjoy. For the price, I think that's forgivable. I recently ordered a roller ball of their Blossom Jam Tea Cakes oil after revisiting THAT, along with a few other recent fragrance purchases, so can't afford any more right now/need to use everything I already have. However, I think I will need to purchase this in the future. Maybe next spring. It's TOO GOOD.

This was one among the 4 testers I purchased from Solstice Scents. I also got Snowmint Mallow, Witch's Cottage, and Blossom Jam Tea Cakes along with it. Out of the bunch I liked Rose Mallow the best and think it is the most versatile (I can see myself wearing it year round). All the samples were actually really good and I enjoyed all of them but I thought that Snowmint was just a bit too pepperminty (and ideal only for winter-wear) and Jam Cakes was not as interesting as Witch's Cottage (which is more complex and changing). As for Rose- It's pretty, yummy, feminine, and addictive. It's sweet without being sickeningly so. I has a delicate sweetness to it. The primary notes I get are definitely rose and marshmallow. I have a feeling that guys would go crazy for this stuff because it is what you would think a pretty girl should smell like. It's youthful but not juvenile. It's just such a nice fragrance and when I have it on I just want to stick my nose up to my wrist and smell it constantly. I liked it so much I decided to purchase a large bottle the same day my samples arrived. If you like gourmands, I think this would be a pretty safe blind buy as I don't see anyone not liking this scent.

This is one of my favorite fragrances, though I do not wear it much in the colder weather due to it feeling a bit too springy. It's very sweet, but for me it never reaches cloying. I've never really been able to pick up on the strawberry note like some other- I typically really hate berry scents in perfumes so I had been initially quite cautious to try it. It's definitely a very creamy, sweet pink rose. The marshmallow lifts up the creaminess, and in my opinion this perfume just smells like rich vanilla bean ice cream and rosewater. The rose is not a green or more citrusy rose. It's not artificial smelling to my nose, but it's definitely got that kind of candied rose smell to it as opposed to freshly picked. I don't find it to be powdery at all, it's really just more of a candy scent without being sickly. The longevity is pretty good- I find it to mellow out over the hours into a really soft vanilla marshmallow fluff as the rose fades first, but it never totally leaves the building.

I bought a sample of this because I've been looking for a sweet rose that is reminiscent of Bath and Body Works' now discontinued Rosewater Merengue. I still have some of the body lotion leftover & the scent is heavenly. I got to try this sample today & I am in love! It smells so similar! I love that it's a sweet rosewater scent without a bunch of other florals or Woody scents to bog it down. This is like a decadent rosewater dessert drizzled in a gooy marshmallow cream with white chocolate shavings on top. I don't really pick up on strawberry at all, but I'm perfectly okay with that since the sweet marshmallow & rose is really what I was seeking anyways. I am going to purchase the full size IMMEDIATELY!

There is an ice cream store in Los Angeles called Mashti Malones in Hollywood where they serve the most delectable rosewater ice cream, and this smells exactly like it! It is so good I literally want to lick myself. I've been wearing this for over 7 hours, and while it has settled in on my skin it still has good projection and I still feel it enveloping me. I HAVE to get a full bottle. This is a slightly sweeter and less sultry Noir de Noir, but also a bit more wearable (Noir is meant for special occasions, in my opinion). I have a ton more samples to try from Soltice Scents so I'm excited to try them all!

I blind bought this one as I wanted a super girly sweet perfume. It delivers. The rose fades quickly though and I'm left with marshmallow, musky white chocolate. I like it. Simple but well made and no synthetic mess. Becomes a skin scent quickly but then it lasts forever. You'll smell like a sweet dessert. Somehow I also bought Rose Jam from Lush recently and I think both perfumes are quite different. Rose Jam has a sour aspect (lemony like), more rose forward. This one is really gourmand. It smells more like white chocolate ice cream than anything else and this is good stuff. For gourmand lovers only.

This review is for the oil: Basically smells like the notes. This is a soft, rose-dominant fragrance with sweetness from the white chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow, and subtle strawberry. There is a slight soapiness that makes me think of a rose-vanilla bath product. It is pretty linear on me. Sillage is low but I can definitely smell it if I apply it around my neck. It lasts a while but becomes a skin scent after a few hours. A pretty everyday fragrance for those that enjoy sweet rose scents.

I was a bit let down by this at first, as I love sweet, syrupy rose scents, and I can't say I quite get marshmallow and white chocolate here, but the end result is a rose on the sweeter side. It isn't edible at all to me, but after a few wears, I've come to appreciate it and would like to full size it. It's very feminine and uplifting, I could see it for any time of the year. My husband loved it too!

This doesn't smell like how I imagined it would. Fresh, cold, crushed up pink rose petals - not a jammy, or dessert-smelling rose. The type of rose reminiscent of rose skin care. A rose found in a 'rose and glycerin' or 'rosewater' facial spray. I believe the Bulgarian rose is what's dominant here. That's added to cool whip with a drop of vanilla extract and a few shavings of white chocolate.

I adore this scent and I recommend testing it quite often. The closest description I can get is sugared pink rose petals soaked in cream. Also, the longevity is amazing. I get at least 9 hours of wear out of it. The spillage isnt huge, but it is definitely noticeable. I have had the rollerball for almost a year and it smells just as good, if not better, than it did when I first bought it.

Rose and marshmallows with the teensiest hints of white chocolate and strawberry. Sweet, soft, very pretty. It’s a bit similar to love don’t be shy/Oriana but with rose instead of orange blossom. Longevity for me is about 8 hours on skin, 10+ on clothes. Must have for those who love rose. <3

Such a lovely concoction of Bulgarian and Moroccan rose dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with a dusting of marshmallows with a strawberry on top. This is the real deal. Nothing artificial here. I love Solstice scents can't wait to have more. This is a must have esp for fall.

Candied roses mixed with white chocolate in the opening! And the dry-down is like a creamy rose buttercream cake. For an oil, this projects so well. Usually my skin eats up oil perfumes and would be gone after one hour. This one lasts at least 5 hrs before becoming a skin scent.

to add to my review earlier it does smell lipsticky and like some luxurious lip gloss. almost a dupe for Bigelow rose salve that bath and bodyworks use to sell (one of my favorite scents now captured in a bottle.) Nice for early spring and fall.

genuinely the best thing i've ever smelled (i might be biased, i love rose and sweet things). i typically avoid gourmands because i hate warm sweetness and nutty scents, but this is everything i want in a perfume. it just smells sweet and pink.

A perfume that smells like it would taste great on toast. Rose Mallow is an exotic strawberry-rose jam, stylistically a floral gourmand on steroids. My second time wearing Rose Mallow and I love it.

This is a very powdery rose. It's very sweet, with a bit of tartness in the background. Settles into a very pretty, marshmallow rose. Still slightly powdery, but I really enjoy it.

Melted strawberry and rose-jam ice cream. I mean, that's heaven in a bottle right there! Gorgeous. I like layering it with Violet Mallow sometimes to dry it out a little, too.

White chocolate sprinkled with dried rose petals. Sooooo creamy! I need this in my life ASAP.

Smells nostalgic, pink, and soft Sweet rosey marshmallows

This sweet gourmand is what finally convinced me to give rose a chance. It smells quite reminiscent of how a rose buttercream cupcake I once had at a swanky wedding tasted. Creamy, delicate gourmand, with a touch of tart strawberry that gives the rose some youthful energy. Though I do have to be in the right mood for Rose Mallow Cream. Sometimes that milky note turns the whole thing into cupcake throwup for me. The right skin temperature seems to really be key, not too hot or cold. A mid-late spring scent.

- Smells like jammy chocolate roses. If I didn't have Saab Rose Essence then I would definitely buy this one. I will definitely consider this one when looking to replace my Saab Rose. This is one of my favorites from the house. I bought a sample pack from Solstice Scents after reading the fragrantica article about the house and being very intrigued by their offerings. I like every single sample I ordered. They smell natural and some are quite unique.

At first, I was turned off a bit because this is SO heavy and cloying (a bit too much came out of the vial and I wiped most of it off the test patch. It smells almost spicy like another said. I rate it a "like." Will update when it settles down a bit. Edit: This is definitely a like. You can smell the creaminess, rose,and strawberry here. It's a quality fragrance for sure.

Yahhhs. Me likey! Purchased a fb (5ml) roll on oil after applying the sample once. It's strawberry jammy, yummy, with a little bit o' rose. A nice pick me up for a drab February, can't go wrong for $20. Both my sample and the new rollerball have a peculiar oil smell to them. I'm not sure what that is, as I've never experienced it with Angela's perfumes before.

Hyperrealistic (something this house is spectacular at) and wears like a rose-strawberry melted ice cream. Longevity and sillage is strong. It's not bad, I've just become more sensitive to heavier gourmands. Purchased around 2020 or 2021? I think. Don't know if it's been reformulated since.

Absolutely scrumptious candied rose with marshmallows and strawberries. Makes me feel like a kid again eating candy out by the roses. I will say it doesn't project the best, but it lasts forever which is more important to me anyway. I love to wear this before heading to sleep.

it's very sweet and very simple. more mallow cream than rose, somewhat reminiscent of the strawberry shortcake dvd cases. it's girly and cute, but it's bordering on sickly sweet. this is the kind of perfume I would love to smell on someone else.

Candied rose on marshmallow that fades into a drier, almost spicy rose. This is uniquely sweet without being cloying, and has decent strength and moderate throw.

These notes look LOVELY. I am looking for a beautiful (nice quality) Rose + Chocolate perfume right now, preferably from an Indie brand, but maybe niche too? -- this is not it. This goes sour on my skin, that may be from the strawberry note in this. I wish it has less (or NO) strawberry, more Marshmallow, more white chocolate... Yea that sour note is ruining the whole thing, it's unenjoyable. I much prefer Rose Custard Kulfi from SS. I would have though the other way around from the notes. This is one of those brands where it really is worth testing them out first. Nothing really seems blind buy safe. But I have found some real gems from the brand and it's been worth sampling. EDIT: Only after about an hour does that sour strawberry note wear off and I can enjoy this more. But overall it's not for me. My search for an amazing Roses+Chocolate fragrance continues. I definitely prefer Rose Custard Kulfi over this one.

I'm a rose LOVER. if it's a rose scent i instantly love it. but i specifically dont like when rose scents have that "rose water" note, where it's especially cloying and fresh and sweet. It just instantly takes over the whole fragrance. I have a couple scents like that, and this is one of them. I really love the marshmallow note though. This could be good to layer with my other rose scents like le monde gourmand macaron rose and the rose body spray from bath and body works

I'm glad Fragrantica added the option to vote a fragrance as "OK" because this is the most "OK" scent I've ever smelled. The first 15 minutes or so were divine. I actually detected a bit of powdery marshmallow, a very rich true-to-life rose, and a hint of berry chapstick. Soon enough all distinctive notes died and I was left with an intense but anonymous "sweet" smell. Not marshmallow, not vanilla. Just SWEET. Like simple syrup maybe? Boring.

Very sweet marshmallow/white chocolate rose. The rose is gone within an hour leaving you with a "white candy musk". It's fine, but I wanted the rose to last a lot longer and be the center of attention, like it is for the Violet Mallow perfume. Otherwise, this is a great value and the quality is good, just not what I thought it was based on reviews.

Too much rose, not enough mallow.

I was so disappointed with this fragrance. I got the 5ml hoping it would smell like a rose version of Violet Mallow and it just doesn't. The rose notes in this fragrance are really high quality and I really like them but the white chocolate kinda ruins it for me. I also could have done without the strawberry. I think that this fragrance would have been much better had it just been Moroccan Rose, Bulgarian Rose, Marshmallow, Vanilla, and White Musk. All in all I don't think that this is a horrible or poor quality fragrance and If a high quality white chocolate rose scent sounds good to you than I definitely think you should give it a try but for me it's a definite no.

This is a very sweet, creamy fruity floral scent that, unfortunately, seems very artificial to me. It opens with sweet rose, candied strawberry, white chocolate, marshmallow, and white musk. The candied strawberry is a little off though, like a strawberry lolly that’s been sweetened with aspartame instead of real sugar. I’m also not crazy about the white musk note because it's rather screechy. As the scent dries, that unfortunate strawberry note just gets stronger and the rose note changes from sweet to dry and almost incensey. After about a half-hour, the entire scent turns to PLASTIC. There really isn't a single stage of this that I enjoyed.

I was thrilled to try this fragrance - Rose and marshmallow are some of my favorite notes and it's a hard combo to find. Unfortunately I seem to be anosmic to this one. All I can smell is a strong synthetic overtone, I don't get ANY of the listed notes except a very faint marshmallow. It all comes off a bit plasticky to me, but I totally see what some of the other reviews mean when they say they get an incense or oil smell too.

I don't know what it could possibly be that's giving me this reaction, but something about Rose Mallow Cream smells scarily similar to milk of magnesia. It's a shame because the cream and vanilla notes lingering underneath are very pretty! I think I'm starting to realize that Solstice's florals don't agree with my nose.

Oh I really dislike this one. Sickly sweet, marshmallow creamy scent. Others have said white chocolate and I agree, but I don't even eat white chocolate because it's too sweet! Feels like a childish cotton candy kind of smell, cloying and sticky. I enjoy several of Solstice's scents so this was surprisingly off-putting to me!

Oh god - I love this! It’s just so yummy and sweet. I just want to wear this all the time it smells like the most amazing and expensive rose desert. It’s all my favourite notes combined - rose, marshmallow vanilla, strawberry and creaminess. Such an amazingly delicious cream note! It’s so lovely - the rose and vanilla marshmallow notes work fabulously with this sort of strawberry liqueur note that’s been added - the strawberry note plays off the rose note and almost enhances its gourmand facets without drowning it out. The rose note is a lovely natural rose - pure rose absolute. I have been trying out different indie companies lately and when I got to solstice scents I had to place a small order because I had already made a few indie purchases but now I’m sad that I didn’t order a sample pack to test because I feel like the quality of this fragrance is pretty great - it’s very sweet so if it was made with cheap ingredients this could smell very synthetic but it smells lovely I can smell the real rose absolute in the fragrance and it all pulls together wonderfully. I received a sample of Nightgown with my order and it’s lovely as well and that’s saying a lot for me because Tiare and tuberose are VERY hit and miss for me. I really wish I had this in the EDP so that I could spray myself liberally. My skin eats up perfume oils like there’s no tomorrow so the fact that I can smell this on myself 1 hour after applying it is a good sign because usually my skin has eaten up most of the oil and fragrance by then. As a side note Solstice Scents was really good about answering my questions about tracking. They were very lovely to me. Oh boy... I’m definitely going to need to order this again and try out more Solstice stuff! : )

As soon as this settled on my wrist I figured out exactly what it smells like to me. If anyone out there can remember the 90s "water babies" (the little rubber baby dolls you'd fill with water) somehow this manages to have that exact same weird floral powdery smell they had out of the box? There's a synthetic-ness there, maybe, if that is the vibe I'm getting. Honestly, I really like this. It is a very sweet rose and I actually do get marshmallow, at least for a bit. I can't wear it because there is too much musk and it dries down way too powdery which always means a headache for me (musks don't like me, but I keep trying). This is an issue with my skin/nose, but basically everything I try that is heavy on the musk just turns to headache-inducing powder. This is a bummer because it's a lovely smell, I think. It honestly has this VERY vintage, old-lady feel that I am 100% there for. Scent-wise, it's like a 5.5/10 for me and the nostalgia factor is weirdly high.

I loved this one until I didn't. The first sample I had, the note of the strawberry nectar was present but subtle and natural. Overall, it smelled like light, rose ice cream (which I think someone else mentioned). I then opted to buy the EDP and the strawberry note was very plastic - it threw everything off. The white chocolate and marshmallows were delectable however, and combined perfectly with the white musk. The note of rose is very inviting. It's warm and has a hint of smoke. My biggest gripe is the vanilla because it overpowers everything and now, it's all I can smell. It almost reminds me of a Victoria's Secret perfume I had as a teenager. It's just too gourmand for me

I’m... not getting what everyone else is getting from this, and I’m sooooo sad. I was really really excited to try this and I’m really really disappointed. During the opening, literally all I got is roses and musk. No white chocolate, no marshmallow, no vanilla. It smelled, on my skin, like a spot on dupe for Montale Roses Musk, a fragrance that I didn’t mind but felt like it was missing something. As the fragrance progressed, it became an indiscriminately powdery-sweet synthetic rose that reminded me a lot of Montale Intense Cafe or Ristretto Intense Cafe, also fragrances I liked but didn't love because of their weirdly synthetic quality.

Been sampling this line and this is one of my favorites thus far...sweet rose and vanilla goodness. Pretty good sillage and quite persistent throughout the day. Probably will need a FB...need to figure out what I have sampled so far and need more of, what I haven't sampled yet but need to and what will be released for Halloween/fall...so much perfume to consume...so little time!!! Edit 1/7/20 - broke into FB today and it’s gorgeous...morphs throughout the day...difficult to decide which phase is best... nice problem to have...

The tartness of the strawberry combined with the rose makes this smell like... watermelon on my skin? Like a watermelon jolly rancher. I don’t get a whole lot of marshmallow or any white chocolate. It’s just a bright fruity sweet. I far prefer Sorce’s A Witches Valentine, which is my idea of a good marshmallow rose gourmand. That one really does smell like fresh confectionery dusted with powdered sugar. This is a hard candy wrapped in plastic.

this was everything I hoped it'd be. it's interesting because I can see folks wanting a marshmallow scent to find this too rosy, and rose lovers to find this too sweet. but if you like rose and like sweet/marshmallowy facets, I can't imagine you disliking this. it smells like rose mallows dusted in powdered sugar. I also find it's quite a bit different than A Witch's Valentine. I love both.

This is so beautiful. The rose seems really high quality. I'm testing the oil right now, and I will say the rose in the opening fades quite fast and it becomes more of a marshmallow smell, but it's still amazing, and if I didn't already have Lush Rose Jam on my list, I'd probably buy this. But I think Rose Jam is similar enough that having both is redundant.

this smells exactly like you'd expect; just like a strawberry shortcake doll! I can smell the strawberry notes layered with the doll-like rose, and some creaminess from the mallow. not too strong, wears close to the skin. could be combined with stronger rose perfumes to enhance the scent.

Rose, a note like jasmine and vanilla marshmallow. Delicious, creamy and smooth, sweet without overwhelming. A comfort scent I couldn’t stop sniffing. In the end, it dried too sweet on me, but I keep retrying the sample. It's decadent and rich, like a fine dessert.

Sweet yet soapy rose. Yummy, warm, creamy, and clean. It's nice but reminds me of soap at grandma's, so I've decluttered, as I have other warm/sweet/clean frags.
