SPICY/HERBAL/EARTHY. Fall Collection. A very earthy and herbal take on incense. The sage and patchouli stand out, but with plenty of resins to keep it more "witchy" than "hippie". There's an underlying dank earthiness as well, which is part of the Solstice Scents DNA. This flavor of cold earth reminds me a bit of Runestone.

First on this reminded me strongly of bay rum. As it dried, I started to get more sage than bay leaf but the bay rum connotation was still very strong. Wood notes arrived as a perfect pairing to that dry, desert sage. When I tried it again months later, I realized that the bay rum association was from the strong clove notes, but again, they blend so well with the notes of dried and true sage. I'd have to call this a dry, almost hot herbal. Very nice, completely unisex.

The opening is like photorealistic aperol spritz. Then in the drydown you start to appreciate all the other aromatic notes. I don’t know if I received a watered down decant because it is so faint on my skin compared to every other sorce fragrance I’ve tried. I kind of love that about it though. Hoping to get my hands on a full bottle in October. I want to drown myself in this.

On initial application: Blast of zingy essential oils (maybe eucalulyptus?) In a medicinal menthol way like Vaporub with a woody background but after 1 hour it has settled into a nice warm woody scent with only a hint of that fresh medicinal tone. I like this one but I don't love it. I will use my sample up but I may save it for when I have the flu in winter 🤣
