Smoky Mountain Mallow

Preface: I have only tried the oil format of this perfume. I am crossing my fingers about trying the EDP format because this is my perfect baby love. I don't get the marshmallow, which might be the only thing that would make it better, but it is the perfect smoke scent. It smells exactly like starting a fire in our wood-burning stove with a pine log. None of that industrial, candle, or overly-guiacwood bit I get from a lot of smoke scents. No BBQ or hotdog water either. I want to absorb this through my pores until it's my blood stream, BUT I CANNOT get it (oil) to last longer than 20 minutes on me, if that, and it's a knife to the heart— possibly karma from wrongdoings in a past life, idk. If it last longer on you, enjoy being God's favorite.

I love this. Been leaning into my super sugary sweet basic bitch sensibilities lately. It smells like burnt sugar. Nothing terribly complex or unique, but it’s formulated so well. Back in high school I wore Aquolina’s Pink Sugar, and Smoky Mountain Mallow is less synthetic smelling and longer lasting, a bit moodier with that smoke note. This would be great as a layering scent with something spicy or fruity. I’m on the hunt for a 60ML EDP spray version of this, if anyone has one to sell please message me!

Here's the smoke I was looking for in these Solstice Scents! Many say they have smoky notes but then they never appear. This one is sweetness balanced with an edge of smoky goodness and a warming spice. Dry down is smooth and creamy. Wonderful! UPDATE I bought the 60mL spray and will write a comparison review when it arrives.

Extremely heavy smoke opening. Hot damn. Realistic campfire accord free of that nasty bacon association I get from many smokes. Smoke settles down after an hour but never goes away, lending support to the marshmallow. This house does marshmallow like no one else. Delicious. Take heed, for the smoke may be too much for mere mortals to bear. For most people I might suggest the oil over the EDP just so you can control this fragrance's overwhelming choking power.

I haven't had much luck with smoke scents, especially from Solstice, but I LOVE this one! It's a perfect blend of sweet and smoky, as the marshmallow comes through for me strongly. The smoke itself also isn't BBQ like some can get, it's definitely a 'by the campfire' smoke on me. Full bottle worthy!

smoky Mountain Mallow—tobacco and candy kinda. In the first half-hour it’s very weird. I like it for an experiment but am not sure I’d ever want to go around in the world smelling of this, in case I need to explain myself. It is fun though. Kinda does bring to mind the campfire WITH the S’mores. After a half-hour it is a much less an odd creation and it is fun and playful. It might be a brilliant product if someone wants that oddball smoky sweet part in the beginning and something a little more crowd-pleasing in the dry down. I won’t buy more but I’m very glad to have sampled... I'm back to recant, after another wearing. This is very enjoyable and much more wearable than I indicated the first time. And the campfire smoke is such a rarity in perfume. One of my favorite smells in reality and it is a nice combo with the sweetness. I change my position, to a thumbs up.

I came to Solstice looking for smoke and I found it. The initial smoke note is powerful- and wonderful if that is what you want. There is a light spice as well and after a half hour or so... sweet marshmallow - like when you try to brown one just right and set it aflame instead. Sweet but not too sweet. Very smoky, wood too. Never goes sour and never goes burned rubber tire. A woody sweet bonfire I keep returning to on my arm. Do I want to smell like this? Apparently so.

I like this one a lot - but only after a few hours. Initially it smells like campfire and toasted marshmallows, but when the campfire smoke fades it’s a very pleasant toasted marshmallow. It takes a while to get there so if I want to wear it somewhere I have to plan ahead, but it’s worth the wait. I think it’s similar to their Smokewood Apiary smell, which turns into a delicious soft, smoky honey.

This is a campfire-in-the-woods scent, and a little goes a long ways. After a couple of hours the fire dies down and out come the toasted marshmallows. Big time performance, this is projecting for over two hours. A fun scent for lovers of campfires and nature.

This one definitely smells like its name. Campfire smoke, marshmallows, and woods! The mallow really comes out on my skin and becomes the dominant note but there is a smoky woodsy undertone to it. I've tried the EDP and the oil and both are great.

Sweet creamy marshmallows roasted over a very smoky campfire. Well done and realistic, but just too smoky for my taste. I would prefer this as a room fragrance rather than a body fragrance.

Free sample with an order of 10 other samples. This scent is exactly what it says it is. I smell Lapsang souchong and marshmallow. The Lapsang is less BBQ-scented than the tea in real life, and the smoke smell overall is a nice clean and cool one, like a fall campfire on the next hill over. Really well done. The marshmallow smells like classic one-note marshmallow scent, and has more sillage than the smoke, IMO. I would not wear this other than for novelty, but I enjoyed it. The scent is true to its name, and I can see why others like it.

This is an incredibly realistic bonfire. My skin eats up smoke like it's a tasty breakfast, so it's not overpowering on me as it seems to be on other people. It sits fairly close to the skin and smells exactly like a bonfire. I get very little marshmallow until towards the very end of the dry-down. I appreciate the verisimilitude, and I do love the smell of a bonfire, it's just not something I want to smell like. I'll stick with the beautiful Violet Mallow, I think.

To me this smells like a straight-up barbeque. I got the roller and it is way too "smoked meats and bbq sauce" smelling for my taste. I am going to wear it for a full day and then update my review after that but upon first smelling it, it smells like nothing but barbeque smoke and sauce. I get zero sweetness or marshmallow whatsoever. But like I said, I will come back to it after a full day's wear and see what I think. EDIT: After spending quite a few hours with it and getting my girlfriend's opinion, I can say that I DO actually enjoy it now. Yes, at first it can be off-putting but give it some time. My advice is to apply it an hour or so before you want other people to smell it. This is because over the first hour or so, all you get is a barbecue-like smoky smell. Then the subtle sweetness begins to come through and lessens the smoky bbq profile. Then it becomes very true to its name - smoky sweet marshmallow with a hint of deep woods. Girlfriend actually enjoys it and that is a greenlight in my book because she is picky about scents. Give it a try!

This smells like you did a burn out over a bag of super powdery jumbo marshmallows in the carpark of a pine forest hiking trail but I think i like it? 🤣 I usually can't stand smoked rubber notes but because the sweetness is so strong it mellows it out so it isn't headache inducing. It also smells like you have a marshmallow floating in lapsang touching tea, probably by the fireplace inside a cabin in a pine forest. The tea note is quite photorealistic actually. I don't get 'burning wood camp-fire' from this but definitely rubber, smoke, marshmallow powder, shredded gooey marshmallow insides and a laspang or black sugar laden tea. I unfortunately find 'tea-centric' fragrances don't do anything for me which is weird because I am a massive tea girlie. It's the thing I drink the most after water. I like it but I don't love it, I wouldn't FS it. I also think this one would be better suited on a man

Grew up in a meditation center/quasi cult in Los Angeles, CA and the combination of green notes, smoke, and tea conjur up images of a temple garden, frankincense and myrrh having been recently burned and left to linger in the air, and freshly brewed chai. Wonderful cozy safe childhood memories are contained in this beautiful atmospheric from Solstice Scents. A hyper-realistic campfire smell. I am purchasing a FS oil, one of only a few that have really stood out to me from their catalog (along with Midnight Marquee), in order to have this memory in a bottle and all the lovely safe feelings it gives me when I have it on!! So realistic, so beautiful.

Smoky and slightly vanillaic with a hint of marshmallow. It is very smoky but in a good way and is a lovely comforting smoky sweet scent. SS does the best marshmallows. It's very simplistic and sweet, though, so I recommend testing it first. Solstice Scents also offers Build It Yourself sample sets which is my favorite way to spend money there: trying everything!
