Thornwood Thicket

Blackberry, a little woody, a little green. Almost no projection even after its had time to warm up on your wrist. Hopefully this will change with an atomizer. The moss adds an odd but not bad element. The blackberries are almost plum. Seems kind of twilight to me. Dark purple witchy votive candle aesthetic. I lived in a village that back in the day had all these artsy fartsy little independent shops in small houses, and it reminds me of shopping at those. Thats all been cleared away for “luxury” apartment high rises that all look exactly alike in the same shade of ugly. But the hippie grocery and vitamin shop still stands where you can buy dried corn kernels to feed the ducks. Though last time it was all geese and they are kind of bastards when you try to feed them. Hitting you with their wings and what not. They bite too. Alas. Anyway the perfume is growing on me. Seems like something Stevie Nicks might wear.

This one is a treat! The opening is blackberry preserves, totally. The sugar is very present - and not in a way that makes this scent generically "sweet," I mean I smell actual sugar crystals. After a while the sugar died down and the blackberry melds with... candle wicks. I started feeling like I smelled candles, but not in a Yankee Candle way. No, this is the subtle smell of *burning.* Another review mentioned hookah, and I don't doubt this could be what a hookah bar smells like when using fruity shisha. I love the duality of the rich fruitiness and the fire - again, *such* a treat!

Absolutely glorious, but it doesn't project very well... which is to be expected, so it's not really a downside. Instead this sits very close to the skin and you need to keep sniffing your wrist. It's interesting to read that people get a burning candle vibe, I didn't really know how to explain what I was smelling but that's pretty much perfect. It's a little bit fruity, from the blackberry, and bit woody in a dry way. I want to get a full bottle, no issues there.

I have seen other people mention candle vibes and I have to agree. I have done this - I've smelled an amazing scented candle and said "I wish I had a perfume that smelled like this". Well this is what I was looking for. I love this scent so much. Going to go out and buy a bigger bottle, I'm so glad I tried a sample of this

Just like blackberry jam! Sweet, sugared dark berry preserves. I agree with baerro, I also get a burning candles vibe the longer this wears on me. My husband also gets incense in the projection when I wear this, which is probably the amber and woods showing through.

This is just like eating wild blackberries on the forest floor surrounded by thick Rocky Mountain foliage. There's also hot sunshine on rocks. And wet mud after rain. So delightful.

This review is based on a 2.5mL EDP spray sample. I had such high expectations and wanted to love this so badly. Unfortunately, it does not agree with my skin. All I got were sharp, alcoholic berries for 0.2 seconds before it dried down to a lackluster resinous, woody powder. Intimate sillage right out of the gate too. Spouse had to put his face right in my elbow to get a sniff and then cringed. He usually always has something nice to say about everything, but he did not find this pleasant at all. He says it smells like "too much powder" and "every new age and candle shop ever". Blackberries? Where? Sweetness? Who? Nope. Just an absolute nasal assault of herbaceous, almost minty amber, guaiac wood and oud. Then, the REAL fun started at about 30mins. My arms got kind of red, hot, and I thought, "RUH ROH." Bummer way to find out you're sensitive to oakmoss! Had to scrub it. I was pretty thorough with multiple passes of fragrance-free liquid soap and dishsoap hours ago, but my arm is still a little warm and itchy. I can also still smell that powdery wood smell when I put my nose to it so... great performance? Repeated wash, patted dry, 70% rubbing alcohol and moisturized. Now it smells like vinegar. That is SO weird. The site says it's undergoing reformulation. Maybe the allergens will be decreased? I don't think I want to chance it again either way :( Sensitivity aside, my skin just amps those base notes waaaaay too much. 11/13/2025 UPDATE: I smelled something REALLY sweet and heavily of blackberries amongst my samples. It smelled INCREDIBLE. Guess what? It was the f*cking Thornwood Thicket!! Fine. Upgraded to "ok" and now a too-expensive room spray I can't spray anywhere but in the corners of the room I won't be touching. But at least I can enjoy it from afar. :')

In case you've never tried premium hookah aromas you might think I am dissing this perfume by comparing it to those, but no, this smells like the yummiest most pleasant forest fruit hookah. It also reminds me of strawberry-flavored toothpaste meant for the kids, I'm not sure if everyone knows those. This is definitely one of those Solstice scents that is entirely playful and cheerful, nothing dark about it. You may dislike it if you're into this brand solely for the mystical connotations. It's very sweet and the fruity aroma is kind of oily, not refreshing. Think fruit preserve vs juice.

It starts of with a jammy fruity scent. The amber, provides a resinous and slightly sweetness that complements the initial fruitiness. Somewhat medicinal. I do agree that it smells like a Yankee candle or the flavor of hookah.

Brief burst of blackberry before it settles into a generic feeling woody scent. I wish I had more to say about it, but alas.

In the depths of the thicket, juicy purple orbs split open, birthing a swarm of cooing, jellied creatures that multiply with alarming speed. Sticky berry nectar drips from gnarled branches, transforming these chirping morsels into mischievous imps that skitter through the underbrush, their numbers doubling with each twig they snap. Ancient trees groan under the weight of the burgeoning horde, their woody sighs mingling with the fruity frenzy. The forest floor pulses, a living carpet of vegetation that shivers and expands, sprouting more berry-scented fiends with each quiver. Every breath draws in air thick with frenetic, fragrant energy as these jammy juggernauts overrun the woodland, their sweet symphony rising to a fever pitch. The once-serene grove twists into an ever-expanding maze of berry-fueled bedlam, leaving visitors dizzy in a haze of multiplying aromas and rambunctious, fruit-filled pandemonium.

Solstice is the real deal. I've sampled this one and a few others and the evolution of their scents is incredible. Thornwood Thicket, to me, is blackberry with excellent woodiness in the background. A great scent and terrific longevity. Full bottle on the way along with Conjure Dark. Check these guys out, you won't be disappointed. Quality all the way and terrific service.

This is so darned lovely! Sugar & blackberries with amber and what actually does smell of oudh. Or, at least, an accord. It does appear to be a bit mossy, but it's hard to tell if it's actually oakmoss. This is quite pleasant and so natural. I'm so sad that I dont have any more imps from the brand and probably won't be able to try any others.

I wasn't a fan of this scent. It seemed very strong on my skin, and something just didn't mix well...It may have been the amber. I smelled berries, and wood, and dirt, and then...I don't know...amber I guess? Which just ruined it for me...I wanted to love this one!! It just didn't smell good to me :-/
