White Fox

Chilly vanilla furball. Unisex. The cold of the North does have a distinct smell that clings to your sweatshirt when you come in after shoveling the ice from your driveway, and this is similar to that smell in a Vick's Vapor Rub menthol-y way. This reminds me of two items. The first is an event called the Healing Arts Festival. Coincidentally, there was a spirit guide/storyteller called Fox there. I went when I was quite young. In the evenings, we would all go into a big room and sit cross-legged on the ground. There were rugs made out of animal pelts spread on the ground, covered in crystals. We would all hum until our vibrations started to resonate. When your lungs ran out of air, you could take a breath and nobody would notice because there were enough people there to pick up the slack of your motionless vocal chords. You'd take a deep breath and start humming again, your vision swimming from trying to hum longer than you did in your last hummage. At some point this crescendoed to the point of feeling like you were in the middle of an angry beehive, and suddenly a shirtless man with a greased chest and a booming voice would signal everyone into silence with a final bellow. That man wore a loin cloth, also made from animal pelts. The smell from the pelts (the ones with the crystals on them, not the ones girdling the greased man) reminds me of WF. The second item WF reminds me of is my ex-step-aunt, who built a house on the crest of a wooded foothill in the cold reaches of Maine. She had many animals, including rescued dogs. Some slept in the house, some slept outside in the snow. Both probably were the same temperature, as it was many moons before the house could be considered fully complete/walled. With WF, I envision a lovable furry friend laying in a circle in the snow. Sleeping on his tail. Alternatively, a trapper has already come across our soft sleeping fellow, removed his pelt, and sold it to you as a pillowcase. I agree with the Solstice Scents forum folk who smell Blistex chapstick. Blistex: chilly vanilla pelt smell. For a reference of whether your nasal inhalatory preferences are similar to mine, my favorite solstice scents are Old Havana, Vanilla Pipe Tobacco, White Fox, and High Noon. My least favorite are Pinyon Truffle, Sacred Vow, and Devil's Tongue.

This review is for the oil roller version. From the bottle and when first applied, this is a very creamy, sweet vanilla with a somewhat noticeable but not unpleasant dirt accent (think clean, fresh, slightly damp earth for gardening, not a yucky “dirty” dirt) The dirt note fades not too terribly long after application and the star of the show here is definitely the vanilla musk. I can still smell it on my wrists after 9-12 hours. To me, this vanilla is almost like a fluffy, fresh marshmallow; not tooth-aching sweet, however. I do get a little hint of something else, too, like when you’re wearing a soft, warm sweater in the wintertime. I think of this as more of a feminine scent. So far, the scent doesn’t travel further than perhaps arm length for sillage, but I smell lovely to myself for much of the day when wearing it. Over all very pleasant and comforting.

While taking a walk in the winter woods, a lost, but curious fox pup (pup? Are they pups? Idk) comes over to introduce himself. You console and accompany the fox by sitting down and offering your lap. The fox curls up and the warmth from petting his fur gives new life to the vanilla perfume you had applied earlier. Every pat is a waft up to your nose. Comforting and natural. What’s this? The fox wants to play? He bites you softly on the hand, but it still breaks your cold chapped skin. You now have rabies. The end. Nice perfume. Do recommend.

Swoon! This is gorgeous. It smells fuzzy and cozy but also animalic and sexy. I get musky vanilla and wood, and I like that it's not a sweet, gourmand vanilla - it smells very natural. This reminds me quite a bit of snowmint mallow, but it's a version for people like me who tend to be more attracted to the natural and woody than the tasty and foody. I can see myself wearing this one a lot in the cold months.

Really interesting scent, it does have a very strong musky accord. I can't decide if I like it or not! The dirt in this is not strong, it's there in the background but does blend in well with the musk. I've been very put off by 'dirt' notes in other perfumes but this one is tolerable. Definitely one that needs to be sampled before blindly bought. It was pretty strong on me, good longevity and really strong throw.

To me White Fox smells incredibly simple, just sweet and baby powder. I'm not a fan of leaving poor reviews just for the sake of putting a scent down, I just feel that people should be aware it can smell both ways (good and bad, depending on skin chemistry).

Smells like dollar store shower curtains. There is a very strong synthetic polyvinyl chloride PVC plastic vibe going on from the dirt and musk. It’s actually pretty noxious on me and I don’t find it wearable or particularly appealing whatsoever. Will be unloading this immediately. Woof....

I get a very earthy, woodsy vanilla musk smell from this. Not too big of a fan of vanilla, but that’s a personal nitpick. It gives it a little bit of an ambery touch, ngl Reminds me of an arctic fox in the spring time...

Strong cedar notes with white musk and vanilla somewhere under that. I wish I got more of the notes the others talk about but it's mostly cedar on me. Oh well, it's a pretty cedar.

Very earthy!!! I’m mostly getting a grass and dirt smell from this fragrance. I want to go to a forest now and have cute little animal friends like Snow White
