Woodstove

I'm a little nervous being the first to review this one as I am new to the game and have less experience than most people here, but here it goes: I received the 2.5 ml sample EdP spray bottle this morning in my first-ever order from Solstice Scents. The box was well packed and everything was in good shape. This was the first sample I immediately tried. I tested it with one spray on my wrist. The opening is very smokey and woody. That is NOT to say it smells like a mix of smoke and woods. It is burning wood. I was impressed that it specifically smells like burning fruitwood that was relatively fresh-cut without time to fully dry; thick cherry tree limbs pruned in September and burned in November. My mind filled in the crackles and pops of the remaining bits of moisture and sap bursting as the fire pushed them to the boiling point. After the first few minutes it settled into a slightly sweeter, almost gentle, smokey smell that has lingered and is just barely starting to fade a bit about 4 hours later. As it dries down the smoke mellows out and a sweet resinous note emerges and grows to almost equal strength as the smoke. The nearest approximation my brain jumps to is thick maple syrup, if it were on fire, but that's a pretty subjective jump. The only other smoke centered scent I have worn is Zoologist's Tyrannosaurus Rex. The only way I can think to relate the two is that this is like that only if the T-Rex were your grandmother making pancakes on the wood stove in a orchard cabin. The two are both very smokey but where that one is aggressive and domineering, this is warm and welcoming. This strikes me as being truly unisex, though I could see some people thinking it's just a hair on the feminine side if I had to choose. It's not the most universally wearable scent, but I like it and I'm looking forward to finding settings to wear it this fall and winter.

Is as advertised. Smokey wood🔥 The longevity on this one is absolutely wild. Also it doesn’t rinse off so youve got to be really willing to commit to it for the next 24 odd hours or more
