Cirrus

Very much in the same space as the masculine Prada, powdery clean fragrances (L'Homme, L'Homme L'Eau, d'Iris Cedre etc.) with some slight differences like the blackcurrant opening, which lingers a little, and the peppery and slight musky, patchouli depth and backbone that gets a *little* ambery and warm in the dry-down. Slight differences, but the exact same genre as those mentioned fragrances. What you'll get is a powdery clean, fresh, iris-like fragrance that would be perfect for a corporate workplace, or a casual, clean, hanging around the house or running errands kind of fragrance. Spring/Summer/Fall and daytime appropriate. Could be worn both dressed up (full suit or smart-casual) or in a t-shirt, hoodie and sweats/jeans/shorts... Classy clean, but not stuffy, mature or too upscale. Right down the middle. If you own any of the clean Prada masculine fragrances, you might not want to bother, but if you're sampling and testing, trying to decide which powdery clean fragrance you want to invest in, I would recommend adding this to your "to sample" list along with those, if you can. Moderate projection that quickly becomes an intimate but detectable scent bubble (which suits the scent profile. If you wore it to work, only someone in your close space could and would smell it) with polite sillage (doesn't linger in the air long). Moderate longevity (not close to long lasting at all), and probably overpriced for the performance and the fact you can get something similar from Prada for the same price or cheaper if you know where to look. Overspraying like crazy, both on skin and on clothes, might help with projection and sillage, but probably still wouldn't help much with longevity. But it does smell good, is blended well and feels like it uses good quality ingredients.

Cirrus is a beautifully fresh and clean scent with a good amount of character to back it up. To me it opens most prominently with a gorgeously juicy blackcurrant and bergamot, paired with a soft lavender. A punchy pink pepper and aromatic sage then add a bit more depth from here. There’s a slight warmth from the cardamom, but once this scent settles on the skin you’re greeted by a soft musky orris, deepened and made slightly earthy by patchouli. All this before settling on a soft base of subtle amber and vetiver. This scent is very pleasant but isn’t the best performing on me unfortunately, it’s nice to wear and I imagine would garner great reactions from those around you - but for me I don’t think it’s worth owning a full bottle.

Weak, soapy and smells cheaper than the price point.

I’m posting my first reaction here after only two trials and hoping others will come along with more in-depth experience. Lavender is listed as one of the top notes. I don’t know about you, but there is something almost addictive about real lavender and we know that it has been found genuinely to have a soothing affect. Then again, it is associated with cleanliness, coming from the Latin for to wash. From reading, I think it can be quite difficult to get a lavender note that lasts. This lavender note lasts, but unfortunately it starts out as the lavender of fabric conditioner, not the herb itself. After a few minutes, however, I start to get a better sense of the living herb. I think this is the other herbal notes combining and gently letting you know they are in the mix, which suggests a herb garden. There’s also a touch of earthiness beginning to come through. The first time I tried this was on my skin and the second time on a testing strip. It doesn’t seem to make much difference to how Cirrhus comes across. I’d describe it as pleasant. No one’s going to be challenged or upset if you wear this to the office. I think anyone of any gender could wear it. That may sound as if I’m damning it with faint praise, but I think there is a place for simply smelling clean and nice - I love to try avant garde perfumes but I don’t want to be at the bleeding edge of experimentation every day.
