Halcyon

Sugary sweet, warm, spicy, boozy. She is the love of your life, a scent you’ve known all throughout it. She is your first love, she is the double take that can’t help but be taken, she is a warm autumn night all bundled up in blankets on the couch and borderline tipsy while snickerdoodles bake in the oven. Halcyon is the warmest memory and moment. This fragrance was a blind buy, love at first glance at the notes- but I don’t regret it. At first whiff you’re immediately pulled in by the sweet embrace of the sugary toffee top note, that and the cinnamon radiate a warmth that’s only heightened by the musk base. The honey within Halcyon compliments this, contributing to the gourmand sweetness but in a classy, 3 star restaurant way (a high enough star rating to be worth the price of the dessert and feel fancy without it becoming a contrived art piece and eXpErIeNcE rather than a dish made to be enjoyed like some bullshit passard egg dish.{Not that I have anything against bullshit passard eggs.}) If this perfume was a dish at the previously mentioned contrived 5 star restaurant or the work of some poor panic ridden chef in a gourmet cooking competition like Chopped or something, it would be referred to as “Chef Soma’s deconstructed take on brown butter toffee cookies, balled and rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with a rum infused honey glaze to be poured atop at the moment of consumption and not plating to prevent sogginess.” The tobacco lingers, beautifully. Cinnamon and benzoin take center stage but that middle note of tobacco both grounds and trails it, becoming particularly notable as it dries down and settles. Rich, smooth, inviting, not an attention demander but certainly an attention grabber. Blended immaculately. Decent sillage, not overpowering. Intense staying power. Divine performance. I applaud it. I adore it. I have nothing left to say but brava, brava, bravissima!

This smells straight-up divine. I literally can't stop sniffing my hand. The combination of cinnamon and honey is so well blended. I did one spray on my arm and it's projecting throughout the whole room. I have been fortunate enough to have tried several 100s of perfumes throughout my journey. I can distinguish between good quality perfumes and the ones that are not so great. Saying this is good quality would be an understatement. The quality in my opinion is just miles better than Angles Share and Oajan. I am a big big fan of Oajan which I had an older decant of. Was planning on getting one, so went to the store and tried it can't believe how bad the projection was on the newer batches. I was super disappointed. Posted that on one of the communities, and a lot of people suggest getting Soma Halcyon instead. A lot of them gave rave reviews about it. So thanks to Dan I managed to get a decant, on a side note already placed an order before decant came in. This has been one of the best finds of my journey. Can't wait to try more. This is a massive winner in my book. Just try it, if you love Oajan/AS this will blow your mind.

Halcyon is probably Soma’s most famed release and for good reason, it’s absolutely stunning and delicious. It opens with an intensely sweet toffee, vanilla and honey combination with an addictive spicy cinnamon in the background. From here the sweetness is perfectly balanced with a strong boozy rum note and smoky tobacco, with hints of a fizzy benzoin and soft orchid. While not listed, I get a gentle hint of a sweet cherry note - probably from the orchid. This is a truly edible fragrance, an incredible gourmand for a great price. It’s very much along the lines of Angels Share and Feve Deliceuse but much better value for money - fantastic fragrance.

Love this one sooooo much. Even more than Angel’s Share, of which I have a full bottle and a back up. It’s not the same of course, but has the same sort of sweet, boozy vibe, think Back to Black, Ambre Narguile, Khaltat Night, even getting towards the sweetness of Lost Cherry - I totally agree with the post below that said it has a cherry note. Edit: smells very similar to Daniel Josier Ambre Tabac, Which I’ve tried since writing this. I get warm spicy cinnamon, sweet juicy cherry, rum, toffee, and tobacco with vanilla.... Just absolutely delicious. Totally blind buy safe if you like these sorts of scents.

OMG , this is a gem for all of us amber lovers If you into ambrr narguile, angels share, etc you definitely need this beauty in your life Also it lasts for ages I tried it on my arm whilst was on perfume group meet up ( hello Dan , Julia’s here )) And it was with me for entire day of testing other fragrances, and it was wet it’s me day after Anyways , long story short , I waited and waited and now it’s available to buy a full bottle which I have done and can’t be more happy

This is really quite beautiful, and perfect to wear in Autumn/Winter. I find it sits comfortably somewhere between Angel's Share and Tobacco Vanille. If you enjoy either of those, you'll love this. In fact, I find it lasts longer than Angel's Share which is a great bonus as it's not nearly as expensive. Great performance, with silage that is not too strong. Leaves a wonderful apple cinnamon pie and rich tobacco trail. Full bottle worthy.

This is one of the best fragrances I've ever smelled. The toffee and vanilla really stand out. 20/10 for me. Reminds me of angels share a little.. but this is way better. The performance on me is great and I get around 7 hours of wear time. I ordered from the website and it only took 5 days to get to me. I'll definitely be purchasing a back up bottle sometime soon.

This was a blind buy fragrance for me. A boozy, spicy opening which definitely sweetens during the dry down. Longevity is decent... 8+ hours off the skin and obviously longer on clothes. Not a projection beast for me but I'm glad about that, it definitely creates a nice scent bubble close to you. 9/10. Beautiful.

Maybe the best mass appealing tobacco scent on the market Smooths out that roughness that comes with scents like Tobacco Vanille and Signature Tabac IMO it’s the best tobacco fragrance on the market

Opens really heavy on the toffee, a dash of rum. Then the gorgeous tobacco appears. It’s brilliant. Perfect autumn/winter fragrance. Top marks.

Very nice cherry pipe tobacco with a bit of booze and a bit of sweetness underneath.

A less sweet but equally as addictive version of Angels' Share... I have samples of both so I'd sum it up by saying this (starting with Angels' Share as the baseline because AS samples are easier to come by): If you try AS and you like it but find it too sweet, try Halcyon, it's probably right for you. If you try Halcyon and wish it was sweeter and louder, you'll prefer Angels' Share. Or another way to describe it is, AS is unisex leaning feminine, and Halcyon is the same scent style, but unisex leaning masculine. Halcyon also projects a little less than Angels' Share. Halcyon is more 'moderate' than 'strong'. I can't decide which of the 2 to buy myself but I doubt I'd want both as there's too much overlap to justify the money on both. Halcyon and AS are identical twins - Halycon being the deeper and darker sibling, and AS being the sweeter and bubblier one. So maybe, instead of having identical twin fragrances I'll opt for non-identical ones - Halcyon + Tobacco Vanille, maybe. They're still in the same family, but they aren't identical, and TV is a completely different type of sweet to AS so I won't feel the redundancy in owning Halcyon and TV that I would owning Halcyon and Angels' Share.

Nice stuff but a pain the Arse to get in the US , the shipping is ridiculas, too bad as there are some other offerings I would love to try ( Tempest , Oud Altius & Oud Fortius ) but sadly I will never shop directly from this house again , CS is crap as well . As far as the smell it's a nice offering and as mentioned it is similiar to Angel Shares but I find it a close dupe to PDM Oajon without the longevity and sillage. The spice is also slightly overpowering and I wish tobacco was more of a player here . Save some money and look for a deal on Oajan as at least the shipping won't drive the price of this mediocre scent to well established niche priced houses, not to mention you only get a 75Ml bottle as opposed to PDM 125ML . 6 1/2 out of 10 overall as the packaging and lack of samples really soured the purchase . As far as the juice the cinnamon is extremely strong and the main note even after dry down, so many notes that don't come through. Wheres the vanilla and toffee and rum ? 5 out 10 . Don't blind buy if possible. Sorry to be so harsh !!!

Smooth? Nice? Iih.. maybe better quality then Oajan since PDM has lost its quality these days.. but angels share and Ambre narguille beats the shit out of this blend. But still they are all the same dna.. with this you can detec the toffee very well, les rum, but the orchid gives you a smell of someone peed on your skin. So only smell this in the air not from to close.. it does last very long and they say it projects also.. I say they say because it’s full of iso e super so you get noseblind for sure

sweet candy, a lot of reviews reminds kilian angels share, but this isnt at that lvl, not even close to Kilian AS, it has something same, but Kilian is much better quality and longines also it was bad blind buy, for this money, Halcyon 75ml cost 187€ to EU, Kilian AS 50ml cost arround 200€ (free shipping from Kilian to EU) damn.. its amber, sweet, its likeable but, its more feminite imho, or for younger men,idk EDIT: smells exactly like vanilla puding

As someone who didn't enjoy wearing Angels Share because it was too sweet, I'm glad I discovered this beauty! Yes, there are major similarities but Halcyon isn't as cloying and I can actually detect the musk & floral notes upon dry down. 🥳

Bit all over the place in the first 5 minutes but after that it's smooth sailing a deep dark rich delightful dirty dessert fragrance

Wonderful sweet, boozy fragrance, unfortunately it smells almost identical to Angel's Share from Kilian. Boozy, toffee, tobacco leaf & cinnamon fragrance. The ingredients are of high quality and the notes are well blend together. For me personally, it's just too sweet.

Smells almost identical to Oajan by PDM....I already have that in decant form...a little disappointed but it's alright.
