Post-Hume

Post-Hume, winner of the independent category of The Art and Olfaction Awards, is, somewhat surprisingly, not exotic nor does it have notes that are rarely blended together. But I decided to order a bottle, as I was almost certain that it would be a good if not great scent overall. I have tried it now over several months and It is now one of my favorite purchases this year. It is smooth, simple, and strong . The tobacco melts its way through the hours, the leather is plush but not pushy, the clove and smoke do a shadowy slow dance, while the vanilla walks around the dance floor selling Dunhills dipped in Vetiver. This is a nighttime scent leaning male, but it has air of class and Northern European reserve. I highly recommend you sample it. The more I wear it, the more I am growing to love it.

One of the most peculiar perfumes I know. Starts off with a heavy cumin-almond. Not at all what I expected according to the notes listed. Still happy I (blind) bought it, because after some time it changes and gets much smoother and warmer. It got me some compliments, but also some complaints. I guess you either love or hate this fragrance. Does anyone know where to get samples of Son Venin perfumes by the way? They’ve got some more I would like to try, but I’m trying to keep myself from blind buying.

Very classy and distinguised scent. Love the fact that it is Norwegian. Although there is a sweet benzoinish, leather-tobacco note, it translates to something crisp and clean for me. Probably the tonka bean effect. Very exquisite, refined and highly recommended.

Very pleasant cinnamon, clove, and leather combo. Easy to wear, any occasion. Well deserved award winning fragrance. After cinnamon blast, drtdown becomes a nice leather, high class elegant note. Blind bought with no regrets.

Amazing fragrance from Son Venin. -Just the right dose of dirty vanilla, over tobacco, leather, cloves and tonka. Best from the brand!

Beautiful caramelly slightly dusty wood. Dusty tobacco at first - more nose to skin. A pine freshness over the top which ironically is the smoke and vetiver extending the gamut of the otherwise kinda two layers of smell. Over time it looses this distinctness to morph into for all intents and purposes a subtle leather. Nice and sophisticated, not outstanding. Reminds me of imperial leather soap minus soapiness.

Animalic spiceeeeee... Spicy animalic strength in a bottle! i get the ginger, cinnamon, vetiver, tobacco ashes burst mingled with anise, smoke, & vanilla sweat! This one is quite intense sensual! with a touch of sweetness that comes forward after the drydown. Beautiful indeed.

Spicy, smoky vanilla; someone below noted a rubbery accord and I agree that it’s there. I quite like this, it’s edgier than your average vanilla fragrance. Up close it’s a little off-putting but in the air it’s mysterious. Not quite my cup of tea, but I appreciate the artistic take on an otherwise saturated category of fragrances.

With over 300 frags in my collection, I imagine that I can appreciate perfumes of all ilk and slant. Post-Hume gets a lot of great press...but not when I press my nose to it. Hmmm, I am thinking they sent me the wrong sample. All I get is bitingly bitter rancid cumin. I know what that smells like because I cook with a lot of Indian spices. I was so hoping to add a full bottle of this to my collection... oh well. P.S. I now have a sample of 0905 winging its way here right now. Fingers' crossed!

I wanted to love it and waited until I got to Norway to purchase it, but unfortunately, this didn’t work.It’s not listed in the notes, but to my nose, there’s a significant dose of cumin. Cumin is one of my least favorite notes and fragrances so this is a hard no for me. I ended up picking up Amber Super, which may lack originality, but I find it is so comforting.

Craziest mf I’ve smelled that reminded me of Japan.. like not some Sakura bullshit, like real rural Japan dusty tatami rug

A very “happy” warm spicy scent, as happy as Starbucks in Christmas .

Sexiest mens perfume I ever tried. It gets my woman hormones going.
