Purple Seductia

Many years ago, Sonia Kashuk had her whole line of fragrances, body lotions, shower gels, cosmetics and make up brushes in Target stores. I LOVED her fragrance line, especially this one, Purple Seductia. As with almost every specialty line, Sonia's line was in Target stores for maybe 2 years (maybe more, maybe less). As soon as I saw the line super duper clearanced out, I knew I better stock up. And not like some "smart cookies" who buy these products for as low as $2.52 each and then flip them on eBay for nearly 60 times as much. Then fools like me that might get so desperate for this most beautiful scent, save up for a year to buy a bottle. Well, I kept and used my Purple Seductia (and a couple of her other scents) and used them sparingly. Recently, i used the last of my Purple Seductia (mostly for myself, but also because my hubby loves it also). It was the scent that carried me through our courting days, our wedding, our honeymoon and our fertility treatments (FYI, we ended up going through 5 years of a private adoption and I wore my other now discontinued fave, Pacifica Lotus Garden the day we picked up our 2 day old son from the same hospital in Hollywood, CA where I was born nearly 50 years before). I thought, "there has to be a dupe somewhere out in this great big fragrant world and so I came to Fragrantica. According to "This perfume reminds me of..." the first two fragrances mentioned are Ellen Tracy's Love Notes (meh, not so much.) And Calvin Klein's Euphoria (YES!!!! Spot on, at $24 for a big 3.3 Fl. Oz. tester bottle on EBay). Just got my bottle of CK's Euphoria in the mail and I am back again in Sonia Kashuk Purple Seductia's Woody Rose, Pomegranate and Patchouli Heaven. Now coming from a white floral loving gal, this is saying something. Thank you Fragrantica for helping me expand my horizons and find a long lost fragrance love without having to break the bank.

This was such a wonderful scent. Very mature, but very sexy. It had a juicy pomegranate and dark berry opening that felt bright and tart without being sugary, yet at the same time, being syrupy, seductive. The fruit was balanced by a soft musk and a subtle spice that kept it from leaning too youthful. As it dried down, it became smoother and warmer, almost velvety, with a clean, slightly woody undertone that gave it depth. It was playful, elegant, and surprisingly sophisticated for something so affordable. I still have a purse-size hand lotion that I bring out very occasionally - and it still smells the same!

This Target fragrance gets me more compliments than almost anything else I wear (and I wear Creed, House of Sillage, Bond No. 9, Mugler, and Acqua di Parma fragrances regularly). It is perfect for the fall/winter, and especially good at night. Glad I stocked up because Target no longer carries it.

One of my favorites and one of my most complimented scents. I still have a drop that I can't bring myself to part with. I hate that it was discontinued.

Very fun fruitchouli. Not too heavy on the fruit, also floral and womanly. For the price, you can hardly go wrong, and it is very wearable for something with heavier notes of this sort. This entire line is completely enviable, gift-able, and enjoyable. It reminds me strongly of something from Jo Malone or similarly priced department store lines. In other words, terrific quality and presentation, but at a drugstore price. Win-win!
