Rykiel Rose

From a male stand point. I have to say i absolutely love this. My wife recently started wearing this. At first spray it comes of a little powdery and strong but the dry down on this is amazing. It's like the softest most delicate rose swimming in a sea of soft amber and a lovely soft white musk. It is a very pretty and feminine scent. For you ladies out there. This would make a beautiful date night scent. Just the thought of it makes me want to do naughty things with my wife...lol...it's a beautiful and very underrated womens perfume. If you are looking for a very unique and beautiful scent and don't want to smell like every other girl out there with their Paris Hilton or viva la juicy, try this. Wow him tonight!

This perfume is so sophisticated, that maybe it is a bit TOO sophisticated. It is extremely well blended, but somehow it can be very demanding of the wearer. Something like it is saying: 'Do you smell me, do you understand me, do you see me for who I am?' I do love it and I will be buying myself a large bottle, but I would suggest wearing this one when going on a date with a man that is overdoing his intelligence and is trying to belong to the happy few. This perfume really fits that bill.

This is interesting!!! Sonia Rykiel in my book, makes only masterpieces, the original (OMGOMG!), Belle en Rykiel (wauw!), le Parfum.... And this is actually a very 'old school' rose. Thereby meaning like the vintages were made, very well done!! A.

I am not gonna lie about this one. I purchased this one because of the bottle and I already had the original of this scent. I purchased it blind and I didn't like it all. It smelled like a cut rose that had been sprinkled in pink Himalayan salt. This one was on my vanity for another 2 years before I was able to appreciate this unique take on a spring floral. I wish I could say this 2 year delay was because my sense of smell had become refined but nope that wasn't the case. I was out one evening and I met a woman randomly at a bar and while we were chatting I kept getting a whiff of her fragrance and it was so exotic and wonderful. Finally I got up the nerve to ask her what she was wearing and she said "Rykiel Rose." I was like " Really?" I couldn't believe that she was wearing this same fragrance that I was allowing to collect dust. I wore my own to work the next day and got three compliments before noon. Slowly this has become one of my go to fragrances. It is nice and you won't find a lot of women rocking this scent. Love it!!!

Sonia Rykiel RYKIEL ROSE is very pink (which is to say "rose", in French). It's not just that most of the fruits and floral notes are pink. It's not just that the bottle is very lightly tinged pink, along with the pseudo-solenoid cap, which looks like coiled-up copper wire. No, the liquid itself is pink in spirit: a light and fluffy pile of pink petals sprinkled with a touch of sugar. The rose is detectable, but among a small bouquet of other equally pretty, equally pink flowers. The pomegranate and pimento are very light but come through a bit better in the soft drydown. RYKIEL ROSE is a friendly fragrance: not too heavy, not too assertive, not pushy or demanding, like a person who is pleasant but not particularly profound. RYKIEL ROSE is a homecoming queen, a pretty, popular girl, nice to be around, but unlikely be sorely missed once she's gone away. (Which happens fairly quickly in the edt.)

Rykiel Rose is indeed rosy however there is a lot more to it than meets the nose. It is actually very peppery and 'scratchy' from the pimento, the hawthorn is dirty and the carnation here is rather prickly green so basically it smells like a dusty rosebush. And it is the best part of the perfume. The lychee and freesia do make it smell a little overly sweet in the heart but this is lightened somewhat by the lotus which seems to lift the fragrance like a breeze that has travelled through a rose bush. There is not much of a base, longevity is very poor, Rykiel Rose is pretty much done and dusted with 2 hours. Basically pretty, fluffy and pink like an angora sweater. It would be nice for equally pretty, fluffy, pink girls.

This is a wonderful, classic rose perfume from top to bottom. It opens with fruity sweet peppery rose (perhaps due to the pimento) and then follows a path into a garden of Turkish roses and other well balanced florals while carrying the sweet hint of the top fruits and taming the peppery accents. The heart then dissolves into a rosy sweet sandalwood with very subtle hints of amber and musk. At least this is what happens on my skin. This is a perfume for rose/floral lovers who can tolerate only hints of sweetness and like their rose dry and unsweetened. Enjoy! :o)

Usually, rose and I don't mix well. This the first rose scents that didn't turn tart or into "baby pee" on my skin. I guess it's the spicy notes that help make this wearable as my skin radiates spicy notes. Im still not a fan of rose but when I'm in the mood for a soft innocent floral I don't mind reaching for my mini of this.

I received this fragrance as a gift from my mother. I didn’t like it as first, my thoughts were “where is the rose?” But after the opening and the dry down the rose is more apparent. It’s pleasant enough, but I wouldn’t purchase it for myself. If I feel like roses I prefer Guerlain’s Rosa Magnifica or Dia by Amourage.

More floral than rose, RR is my first perfume from this brand. The fragrance is pleasant, feminine and easy to wear. There is a impression of shower gel/bubble bath, but it's fleeting. Work safe because sillage and lasting power are very modest. The sweater shaped bottle is a good addition to a flacon collection.

I like all of Sonia Rykel's perfumes, they are very feminine, very sofisticated. They are also somewhat spicy. I love them, they are quite unusual, like this one, it is an interesting fragrace.

Ah freesia! You ruin so many otherwise lovely scents for me! Although freesia is synthetic, and is supposed to provide a "shiny" tone to scents, for me it lends this strange chewy plastic tone. It was only in buying this scent, and comparing the notes for the scents I don't like (because of this tone) that I realized it was caused by freesia. Wondering what I'm talking about? Ever bitten into something and realized that there was a bit of saran wrap clinging to it? The feel of saran wrap between your teeth? No? Try it. You'll hate it. Beneath the chewy plastic tone, I smell artificial (very sweet) synthetics. Sort of fruity, sort of flowery. Pungent enough to make my nose sting. There is no rose in this scent. It is an artificial approximation of rose. Ditto lotus, pomegranate, carnation, all of which have distinctively darker tones in natural form, and made me think that I would enjoy this scent. On my skin this is entirely linear, and I really dislike synthetics! These notes are available in natural form, but this scent clearly uses synthetics and only synthetics. Hence the long lie, and failure to evolve after the alcohol evaporates. it also has an oily something in it that leaves the skin noticeably shiny where it was sprayed for a couple of hours after. This shiny layer rubs off on the finger, also clothing, the computer, etc, and leaves them smelling like this scent. I've never had a perfume just sit on top of my skin like this! Once it's gone, so is the scent. Just weird. This is a sweet synthetic creation, from start to finish. Very disappointing. Do not blind buy based on the notes! They are pure marketing hogwash. If you like very sweet fruity scents, and have issues with real rose, this might be a good match for you. Definitely one of the "pink girly" scents. If you know and love Rykiel Rose (as many here seem to do) I would be delighted to find a new home for this bottle. It is a 1oz, and cost $14.94. Reimburse me, and it's yours!

I take a trip to the little corner perfume store in the mall about once a month and peruse the mini's hoping to find something good I haven't tried yet. I was looking for Midnight Rose, Prada Candy or Addict but no such luck. Since I liked Belle En Rykiel I thought I'd try another of her other scents. Well, this one's not as good as BeR by a long shot. It starts off as nailpolish paired with the low-budget rosy smell of True Love. Very linear with no twists or turns, just a constant sour laquer rose smel start to finish.l. It's almost like they tried to copy the vinyl/rose of Parisienne but missed by a mile. At least I don't feel like I'll burst into flames from wearing the horrid lighter fluid that is True Love...so I guess that's a plus. In short, glad I only paid $7 for a mini...won't feel bad about tossing it.

This fragrances I ́ve get from a friend of mine, because he has Sonia Rykiel for man and he loves it. But it bite my noses, which means, it ́s very intense, strongly peppery. No sweetness in it! It ́s very intense and it lasts forever on the clothes. I like the fragrance 2 hours after applying it.

A refreshing fragrance with spicy rose, pomegranate, lychee and cardamom. Great for the hot weather but I have to agree with Lotus and Jasmine that this is very synthetic smelling. Don't get me wrong, it does smell nice, but I will not be adding it to my collection.

Too flowery for my taste but it's still ok.

I love the scent of roses, however my intense love for them often makes it difficult to find a rose fragrance to suit my tastes. Rykiel Rose is pretty, and thankfully not one-dimensional like some rose scents are, but in regards to what I like, it just misses the mark. Rykiel Rose started off with a lot of potential. I really enjoyed the crisp and refreshing opening of sweet, pink roses and a touch of floral powderiness. It smelt very inviting and feminine, which are qualities I tend to admire. Unfortunately the heart signalled a spicy and peppery twist, which didn't sit too well on my skin. The heart shows a more complex side to Rykiel Rose, with rather loud pimento and pomegranate accords. The composition becomes a little screechy and sharp for my liking. A hint of powderiness remains, but by this stage, it is barely detectable. Although the rose is there, I wouldn't call it particularly dominant, so with that, I'm less likely to call this a rose soliflore. It would have been nice to smell more roses and perhaps less pepper. I've always wanted to try this fragrance for some reason, so I am very grateful to have sated my curiosity at last. I nearly blind bought it a few years ago, but now I'm rather glad I didn't. I'm not a huge fan of the T-shirt bottle design either. The drydown is pleasantly soft and a touch sweet. Sandalwood and white musk tend to calm the peppery accords, bringing this fragrance back to its feminine roots. I find Rykiel Rose suitable for all seasons, although I'd recommend it especially for Spring and Autumn.

can a perfume be floral fruity and spicy at the same time?yeah!it describes sonia rykiel rose. when first I sprayed it on my wrist I got nothing but pepper!but the middle notes are so lovely,although yet a bit spicy. I like rykiel rose more than the other T-shirt shaped perfumes by the designer. although it's considered as a floral fruity I don't get many fruits.the woody notes are mentionable and the musk is very strong. it's a little bit of everything.it's very sophisticated that I'm confused wether it's suitable for casual or romantic occasions,modern or classicmwarm weather or cold! guess it can match all of them.

Rykiel Rose is the essence of an innocent woman :-) It smells heavenly subtle, rose is definitely present here nearly all the time...It is like an angel walking on rose petals... I truly recommend it to all rose lovers, unlike Mugler's La Rose, Rykiel Rose has better staying power, but please, note, edt and edp smell different and it is hard to compromise on the choice - I prefer opening of edt while edp, on the other hand, has far better longetivity. It's probably best to have them both and layer :-)
