Sometimes I crave a really good gourmand fragrance. I don't typically go crazy for this genre like other people. I'm not the biggest fan of something that smells like food. I'd rather just eat it. If I'm going to wear it, there has to be depth of character. A lot more needs to be going on in order for me to not get sick. That takes a while for me to finally decide which ones work and which ones do not. In regards to Jany, at first I thought it was too sweet. It smelled just like apple pie or some type of apple croissant. Instantly put me in the mindset of an autumn morning at the coffee shop. For some of you, that sounds great. For certain people like me, that's not my favorite. But it kept me interested. This is my fourth attempt and I have to say, I am coming around to it. Are there synthetic notes? Doesn't there have to be? I don't think you can get an essential oil from a pie. People have to keep in mind how fragrances are made. A grand cru cannot come from just anything. Even a note as simple as Amber is an accord, which means it is not a naturally occurring essential oil. It is the idea of what Amber smells like created in the lab. Compared to vanilla attar Grand cru. The best naturally occurring essential oil crafted from vanilla. Someone had to create Jany from beginning to end. I don't think calling it synthetic helps anything or hinders anything. You can knock the longevity, but I don't think that is that bad either. I think this is a good fragrance for gourmand lovers and a good introductory fragrance for people like myself who are not into gourmands.

Instant love! Like Italica by Xerjoff level of love! Which happens to be my all time favourite gourmand perfume! As first impressions, I am ready to put Jany at that top tier of gourmand perfumery! It’s entirely different type of gourmand than Italica, but it speaks to my soul and makes me feel things...if that makes any sense! It’s baked, sweet, caramelised apples, buttery, puff pastry, creamy vanilla, apricots, peaches, plums and cinnamon with strong nutty, almondy nuances. Depending on the performance, it might be the Sora Dora for me! I liked a lot Red and Ylop but those two didn’t draw me in as much as Jany. Will see how I like Mallow next. Jany is perfection in a bottle and for caramelised apples fans, Jany is a must have. And for fall season, it’s a staple perfume, so warm, fluffy, enveloping type of scent. Unbelievable good, so delicious, mouthwatering kind of fragrance. Nowadays, so many niche fragrances get so hyped up on social media but not even half of them worth the hype in my opinion, after testing them. Jany deserves more hype and more recognition, it’s impeccably done and smells so photorealistic. Totally safe blind buy if you’re into foody gourmands, like me! As a first impression, it seems less intense and less long lasting than Red and Mallow. From the four Sora Dora’s I have sampled this time around, Jany and Ylop appear to be moderate to long lasting fragrances, while the other two prior mentions are really deep and strong perfumes with impeccable performance.

this has been such a fantastic find. i truly love jany for its warm, comforting smell. there isn't anything sharp to the nose, it truly smells like stepping into a bakery and sends me down memory lane picking my favourite pastries and cakes as a treat from my grandma. jany is a decadent enveloping smell and the reason i've made an account just so anyone wondering if this worth a sniff has the answer they need: it is so worth it! be warned however: some people do not like edible-type fragrances and this is definitely one. that said, i think it's done incredibly well. it doesn't give me that synthetic drugstore candle type of feel. this is truly a gourmand well done. edible, sure, but so well balanced. i've had people wonder aloud what smells so good without being able to place it (i didn't say anything only because i am criminally shy lol). this fragrance has made the gloomiest of days bearable. it's allowed me to escape into a cozy bakery daydream when the weather seemed set on making me miserable. i only had a sample and i used every last drop. despite the price, i really think it is well worth it and i am now saving to purchase a bottle. this is a warm embrace before it is anything else. this is your mum, auntie, granny, parental figure letting you lick the batter off the wooden spoon and that feeling of looking forward to your favourite tea time treat. comfort in a bottle. can't wait to have my very own bottle.

Stunner. Adored. It’s not as sweet as you think either, blasting the opening with a truly intoxicating baking pie thing, the wood fired oven too hot cause you can’t control the temp in the goddamn things, drying down to a white powdery flourey creature, a bit sandalwoody, takes me back to Bois Farine and that Etat d’Orange rice one. Oh what’s the newish Diptyque one, Papier, don’t get me started, I bought the shower gel and it’s a hideous blast of that nose scorching horror whereas the perfume isn’t... Jany burnt her pie, ran out to the apple orchard in the sweet Autumn haze, with her leather ballet pumps on, but kicked them off, found the overripe apricots and that guy from over the valley who it turns out cannot resist her beautiful big breasts and he doesn’t care that she’s got six kids, hell, a seventh sounds good. Wait it is fairly sweet, I cannot lie, and there’s that gorgeous black vanilla molecule that they are all using atm, but here it’s just sublime...probably my favourite new perfume of the last couple of years, it’s female, not feminine, my absolute favourite genre in art and life (lol I put it on next to Falcon Leather, and I think that’s adding to the imagination)

I was generally afraid of trying this because I hear that it either smells like the best thing ever, or like the most basic thing ever. As with any other perfume on fragrantica. I do recommend trying this before you buy, but in my case I was able to get it at a very good price and in my case it worked out. I get basically all the notes, I get the baked apple (with a hint of the other fruits) and I get that puff pastry. I can also smell the almond and the nutty components, as well as the vanilla and caramel adding sweetness. The pastry smell doesn't hang around for too long, still a decent amount of time, but don't expect it the entire wear. The rest of the notes stick around the entire time pretty much. And even with all of that, it doesn't feel too sweet or overbearing. All in all I'm pretty happy.

This was a blind buy. I was nervous about the performance because I had read somewhere (here maybe?) that it didn't perform well. That could not be further from the truth. This thing is a monster. It is absolutely delectable. I got this in the same shipment along with Noble Essences Mirage Gourmand and it's interesting because they smell very much alike. Jany is Mirage Gourmand with baked apple. I really can't add anything else to all the positive reviews below. If you love gourmands, I think this is a safe blind buy. This is a 10/10 for me. This does NOT smell like a candle to me. A candle wishes it could smell this good.

Jany is, without a doubt, the most beautiful perfume I’ve ever encountered, and I’ve experienced quite a few fragrances! It evokes the warm, comforting scent of a rich, decadent apple pie paired with a smooth scoop of vanilla ice cream. There’s a perfect balance of sweetness and tenderness that stirs a deep sense of nostalgia. It transports me to a world of gingham aprons, crisp autumn leaves, and cherished memories. Every spritz is like a comforting embrace from the past, with a touch of indulgence that lingers beautifully. It leans feminine, the longevity is about 8 hours and the projection is moderate.

ok here's some important background: I do not have any single pure sweet gourmand in my collection, because it is hard for me to wear a gourmand the whole day. I get tired of smelling edible, normally within an hour. I also feel like I grew out of them, that's the type of perfumes I preferred in my early twenties. (Angle's Share I have an love, but its not a real gourmand, sorry). But wow, I think I need a full bottle of this! it really is THAT good. Did not expect to like this based on notes, but it's truly well done.

I love this scent. I always start a little hesitant as it has a bread-y element at the top that isn't for me. But there's enough of the sweet apple for me to get through that. I love the drydown. It's a soft apple, cinnamon vanilla cozy scent. I start out feeling like I want to find what will layer nicely with it but then it settles and I only want to smell it just as it is cause it's really nice. It's nothing like Angels share, but it fits the bill when I'm looking for something like that but toned down.

this smells like my childhood. it's so nostalgic to me, this is simply comfort in a bottle. whenever i spray this i feel so young, not sure how to explain it. homemade apple pie, the scent of caramelised apples sprinkled with cinnamon & brown sugar floating around the room. i love this so much! the dry down is just gorgeous & the longevity is amazing too. hours later i'm left with the smell of that buttery pastry with cinnamon sprinkled on-top, slightly soaked in the baked apples underneath. i love this!

Definite love for me. Unique & quite long lasting. For some reason that I can't quite put my finger on, it reminds me of Blanche Bete. No, they are not the same but they share a unique note that gives off a whiff of warm toasted coconut (no coconut note listed in either perfume) that makes Jany & Blanche Bete both oddly comforting yet sexy at the same time. I don't like gourmands that smell like literal food & thank goodness Jany does not to me....just warm, cozy & very addictive.

At first I bought a decant from some shopee seller, and the decant was not good - almond was giving a very chemical vibe and the whole thing very synthetic. However after many months of seeing compliments online, I bit the bullet and bought a full bottle instead...Delicious!! It’s truly a warm apple pie. Although I live in year round hot weather country, I like using it at night, and don’t mind using it daytime as long as use it sparingly. I love it.

This is the most divine perfume I think I have ever smelled. It is perfection and I can't wait until autumn when I can wear it every single day. If I was an influencer I'd make a reel and put 100/10 over a picture of this perfume. At the start of my perfume journey was was tantalised by the promise of Bianco Latte and Escapade Gourmande but was left wanting. Then I found Jany - nutty, apple caramel with a hint of peach and plum. It is a work of art.

I LOVE this. However, It is not your grandma's apple pie! Though it certainly has a warm, baked apple pie-ness about it, it is also somehow mysterious and a bit naughty. like a pie on the windowsill of a very stormy and very bleak night. The warmth of the pie cannot drive out the chill of the evening. It is almost a bit unnerving. Beautifully blended caramelized apples, cinnamon and sugar pastry dancing together to create an absolutely delicious gourmand scent. I wish the sillage was a bit better since I really need to lean closer to the skin to be able to smell it. Not sure if it's worth the price but it is something that you don't get to smell often. Very suitable for fall and winter months when it's cold outside and you want to get cozy.

Oh I love this, warm buttery apple pie goodness and vanilla with thin delicate Apple Brandy Killian-like booziness. The cinnamon is not too strong and burning the nostrils, it's a gourmand perfection, bit still perfume-y, not smelling too literal like a food. I can feel the osmanthus in the dry down and it's giving this leathery depth that steers it away from being too fruity and pastry-like. Leans feminine

I made apple pie a lot in my life and the smell when its baking in the oven is just divine and nostalgic , I always dreamed of a perfume like this with these vibes, it really smells like a warm cinnamony nutty flaky apple pie! as a baking enthusiast i approve this fragrance ! Cant wait to wear it in fall or winter , not sure if it will smell appropriate for work or college but who cares i wanna smell cozy.

This is what angel's share wanted to be. This is a work of art, and smells like a caramelized, juicy apple pie, without the overly cloying cognac. I knew as soon as i smelt this that i wanted it. This is not overly harsh or cloying or sweet. It is soft, and gentle like Christmas in a bottle. If you buy this, don't be surprised if someone tries to eat you.

Holiday season in a bottle, very delicious and more edible gourmand. I can’t imagine it being for everyone as it’s quite foodie but I love it. Lots of cinnamon, burnt sugar apple vibe with puff pastry. It’s a little nutty. I am glad I don’t get the candle reference like some comments below, it smells delicious on my skin and more like caramel apple.

I went out to try this perfume and i must say, it smells really good. It smells like appelpie and the opening REALLY smells like the crunchy part of the pie. Not just cooked apple and cinnamon but the actual flour and pie crust, a little baked peach. Realistic without being overly sweet or synthetically fruity. The pastry note smells a lot like a rice accord at the start giving it a starchy feel and a depth missing in a lot of gourmands. Less interesting in the dry down but this is still cozy.

It opens with a caramelized apple pie with cinnamon and ends with a flaky pastry filled with peaches and jammed apricots. I really enjoy it, its caramelized and a little bit spicy, perfect for cooler weather and the perfect scent for Christmas. I really like it, but it's smell a little bit like a Christmas candle.

I bought a sample of this. It smells like literal sweet baked apple pie, the sweet pastry note is dominant as is sweet baked apples. I love gourmand fragrances so this is right up my street. Its actually delicious and makes me crave apple pie with custard. I definitely need a full bottle of this!

This is beautiful and mouthwatering! And I think it smells like a buttery apple pie crumb. However, there is something that smells like cherry and almond to me (probably coumarin) that kind of ruins the whole apple and pastry vibe for me. But otherwise it’s super yummy!

Buttery flaky deliciousness warm pastries. Better than Khamra, Crumb Couture and Angel's Share. Hear me out.... next time you fix yourself a coffee or have some tea on the stove.... wear this and grab your favorite blanket and a good book! It's a whole cozy yummy vibe!

One of the best perfume i've ever smelled. Literally a creamy apple pie, but more exactly: Caramelized apples with a touch of cinnamon on top of an apple pie. It lasts an ENTIRE day, and it's as good when it fades. Worth the price, will 100% buy a full bottle ! . ❤

I am a lover of gourmand & do believe, yes, this is seasonal. I got a whiff of peach followed immediately by the baked apple and cinnamon. Very pretty, very comforting and cozy, but not a daily wear scent to me.

I wanted to love this and I can tolerate it but the strong cherry and almond accords take away from the apple pie aspect that I was hoping for. At this price, I can't see getting it again.

Love this perfume ❤️ It's warm, buttery, sweet but not cloying. I was still sniffing the sample bottle long after finishing it. Wish they had a 30ml size, as it's quite pricy.

Have U ever read an Omega Verse type of BL? This is the level of sweetness you could imagine came out of the omega’s bodies in their heat. (No wonder why the Alphas goes insane after inhaling such aroma) This fragrance is the pinnacle of gourmand-ish fragrance. Opens with a puff pastry like taste, a caramelised apple pie with a tad bit of salt and cinnamon powder. Although it is dried and faded, I do smell a bit nuttiness of the almond. I couldn’t smell plum in this? but an apricot sure do came up from time to time. (FYI I like peaches and apricot when it is subdued. And oh boy this one is super sweetened) I did read some of the reviews about some kind of... waxy smells? I don’t know where it came from but if I have to guess it could be Plum / Osmanthus / Nuts or your own personal experiences with the smells. I do get how one can feel this is like the B&BWs candles since they made a pretty decent amount of overly sweet candles all over the year. All and all this is an overlingly sweet but addictive fragrance which could make you go insane (In positive and negative ways depending on how you liked the fragrance) So if you like the overwhelmingly sweetness, you might wanna try this out. But if you generally dislike sweet perfume, this perfume WON’T do the miracle to persuade you into joining the sweet loving fragrance cult. (yes I proudly am a part of it) Please Be Cautious. Oh, I have a sample of it and tries to use it as much as I could since it is winter and the humidity is reduced. But in most situations please don’t use this on a hot humid day or you will become a menace to society with how much radiating aura you gave.

This scent surprised me because instead of giving me that proper apple turnover moment people glaze, it smells more like the bake before the firing. If you've baked before, you can imagine the soft, pale, doughy stage where everything is a little raw, but sweetened and buttered and waiting to become itself. So warning: scrap any idea you have in your head of stewed apples collapsing into flaky sugared puff pastry, golden edges and caramelised seams. If that's what you seek, you've better luck elsewhere! On me, Jany is definitely more reminiscent of a tangy apple sauce smeared through buttered dough. The purée sports a faint acidic lift, folding seamlessly into the soft, starchy, and the gently sweet. There is cinnamon, yes, and vanilla too, but neither is especially realistic or deep. Everything feels muted into the dough. Warmed through. Rather pleasantly, I do think the soft starchiness smells baked-adjacent in a way a lot of “pastry” perfumes do not. It reminds me of this specific bread-scented candle I had lingered on at a souvenir shop, except this is still a more vivid version. It's not aggressively gourmand but it is comforting, albeit in a slightly unfinished way. I definitely grieve the fantasy of a lacquered pastry scent, but something soft and apple-buttery has likely better wearability. So with the filling a bit tart, the vanilla only just beginning to rise, I find that Jany smells less like dessert served on a plate and more like batter under fingernails, which is a lot softer but much more endearing.

Bought a decant of this one to try it out. Immediately repulsed by the prize of this, but the notes were too interesting not to try it out at least...I loved it on paper and in the bottle, so I was fairly excited to try it on my skin. Realistically it was normal to slightly good wear (maybe 4-6h could smell it intimately on myself). I do not think this is a beast mode eternal perfume, more of a nice warm skin scent. Note-wise, it opens up very spicy cinnamon, puff pastry and vanilla scent, and then it goes on to be full apple pie, caramel smell. On my skin after a few hours it turns slightly like bitter fake apple scent, the ones you would taste on green apple-shaped gummies. It is an interesting perfume, I have not smelt straight apple very often but do not think that this is worth it due to its mediocre performance. Buy it if you are extremely rich and looking for a nice sweet perfume for fall and have money to waste. EDIT: I wore this perfume yesterday and two people told me I smell amazing, I still think the longevity is not worth it, I couldn't smell it on myself after 2h

Baked apple and puff pastry. It’s so interesting because I wore this in a really cold room in my house and a really hot room. In the hot room, it was quite pleasant. In the colder room, it was a bit sickly sweet. I think this is a fun perfume and it does smell a lot like an apple pie or an apple turnover. As a gourmand lover, I thought I’d be won over by this hook, line, and sinker. And yet... I feel like this isn’t very practical and I’m just not enjoying this as much as I should be. I think I would get this eventually, but it’s not an insta-buy. This sits pretty close to the skin so it’s not obnoxious which is nice too. You can pick out the cinnamon in this, which is great, but when I really inhale deeply there is something slightly waxy and synthetic here. I can somewhat understand the candle comments, though I still like this. Someone said this smells like a Michael’s craft store during Halloween and I was a bit bewildered by that, but now that I smell it, I completely understand and now I can’t really shake the mental image.

Upon my first wears of this, I got an impression of popcorn that settled into a bubblegum scent that felt like a Pick n Mix (a bag of loose candy) that altogether brought to mind a memory of being in a cinema being close to the food counter, waiting for your drink for what feels like too long as people walk by with their snacks that waft around in the air. SO when I read the notes of this for the first time I was so surprised at some of these notes that I had to spray this again - Reading the notes while smelling I caught the baked apple and the spice of the cinnamon but it really does read with a linear synthesised feel that makes this feel much more like sugared sweets than a dessert as reading the notes in isolation might give the impression of. That being said I think that synthetic quality works, it's juvenile, nostalgic and playful - but for the price point? No thanks! I like the perfume just not for the story it is made to evoke.

I have a 2ml sample, starting off this fragrance is SUPER medicinal in the opening, i’m talking all of the plum, peach, and apricot hit you all at once. But then it starts drying down into a cinnamon, vanilla, and fruity scent. I’m not sure why this gets compared to Angel Share and Oajan, since those fragrances are more boozy centric rather than straight gourmand like this one. There’s this sort of “pastry” smell you get, but it’s almost more an indistinguishable smell rather than a “pastry” smell. It gives this fragrance an interesting backbone. But I would highly suggest sampling this fragrance since it does have an odd opening and interesting dry down. As for performance it’s average, the first two hours are strong projection. However longevity, I haven’t gotten to wear it enough to give an opinion on it neither the sillage. But overall, it’s a sweet gourmand fragrance with a little mmpth to it i’ll say.

I had a love & hate relationship with Jany. When I first smelled it, it was really a realistic apple pie scent, and I still stand by that. I could tell the pastry dougy quality, the sweetness and light acidity from baked apple, warm spice from the cinnamon (not as strong as Angel's Share), and the nutty accord. However, as I wore it more, I got something stale, especially in the opening. Overall, I do like the scent profile. What made me part with it is the performance. I am suprised that almost everyone said it's a strong fragrance, but on me, the delicious apple pie experince only lasted 30 mins to the max, then my skin was left with only faint vanilla...I personally do not think it's similar to Angel's Share and other cinnamon-heavy scents. In fact, I've never associated Angel's Share with apple pie, because there is simply no apple in it...

it's like a baked pie was put in front of me on a table, and I lowered my head to sniff it - but I also caught a whiff of a vanilla aromatherapy that's turned on near me. It's sweet, very comforting and cozy, and it reminds me of a cool Thanksgiving night during dessert hour. I don't get much of the caramel or musk with the first spray, but it's still a decent gourmand. The dry-down is so much better than the initial spray. It's a lot smoother, and the caramel starts to whisk in alongside the almond. The fruitiness comes out more than the pastry side of the fragrance, but sadly, that's also when it disappears from my skin. Very glad I stuck with the sample size of this because although it is decent, it didn't wow me enough to add to my personal collection.

I have a sample of this, wearing it now - warm fruity pie with alot of cinnamon, almond and nutty notes, has a hint of coconut but not listed? so must be the mix of caramel and vanilla. Hard to smell the individual fruity notes as it becomes sweeter and more sugary. This is giving Kilian Angel's Share vibes but without the boozy cognac note - however that one is unisex, and which I already own a bottle of. Not sure if Jany is full bottle worthy but it is a true gourmand and is growing on me, it is also a more feminine leaning fragrance. Will have to see with the longevity. edit. I can also smell that yankee candle vibe too now, which isn't bad but makes me feel uncertain and that it might cheapen the scent? My fav gourmand is still bianco latte
