Kamel Oud

This isn't my type of fragrance as I lean to feminine or unisex, and this is very manly I think it'll work better with male chemistry than with myself .. in fact I thought I'd hate it based on comparing it to the other SD offerings which are much sweeter and/or creamier, buuut, there's something really enticing about this. It's dry and spicy with the cardamom and pepper and cumin, and woody and incense. But also has just a very mild touch of sweetness from raspberry and rose. I didn't think I'd like this at ALL but it's soo enticing I keep smelling it like non stop I wouldn't be upset at all if some fancy log cabin resort had this scent throughout. It also surprisingly doesn't burn my nostrils like some other masculine scents that have strong super-ambers. But this is very dry and uplifting in a mature kind of way, wearing this you need to have confidence in yourself because you will be smelled and some people won't like it. Don't let the bad ratings dissuade you though, this isn't a crowd pleasing fruity/citrus/clean/gourmandy smell .. so it's not going to be as popular but oh boy is it good in its own right. Of the 3 masculine sora dora scents, Gladiator (prob the most crowd pleasing) and Vanuatu (least fav) and this one, this one is my fav imo. And a real suprise.

I was expecting a basic oud-rose scent, but boy was I wrong; Kamel Oud is an extremely unique - and spicey - take on the classic combo. And when I say spicey, I mean SPICEY. Smelling KO is like submerging your whole head into a spice mix and inhaling the spices. Yet, somehow, it manages to be a totally wearable scent if you're into orientals. A massive scent. Will stick to your skin forever, produce a gigantic scent bubble, and leave a mile-long scent trail. 5/5. The second best of Sora Dora's releases, right after Mandorle.

Kamel Oud starts out as an oud explosion with the rest of the other notes not distinguishable from each other; then as it dries, it becomes more animalic. Although not in the notes, on my skin it feels very smoky, reminding me of the smokiness of Terroni from Orto Parisi or T-Rex from Zoologist (it doesn't smell like either of them, but the smokiness is reminiscent of them). This is a strong perfume, with great longevity and a strong sillage in the first hours. If you like strong, masculine, smoky perfumes, this is for you.

Smoky cedar shaving, savoury spices, oddly growing on me even though it conjures up a barbecue. The oud itself is not funky, the cumin is what is doing some of that. Cumin doesn’t usually work for me, but here I am enjoying it wrapped in the oud woodiness and cade smoke. The cedar pencil shavings reminds me of Sahraa by FdB but this is rougher and spicier. The Oud for Greatness reference seemed way off initially but on the dry down I can see it (minus the sweetness). But it is its own thing, which took me a second wear to fully appreciate.

Reminds me of Arabian perfumery. This is a dry Oud fragrance that’s a little bit aromatic. Spicy and dry, but nothing too crazy.

I do love a good oud! Love the start with a good leather oud. Gets a bit powdery, sweet, saffron at the end for me though.

I have very mixed feeling about Kamel oud. While it was tested on my partner’s skin, it was more sweet, spiced. I imaged it as how Apollos might smell. A mix between a soft sweated skin, warm as the sun, resinous due to his golden skin (or at least as they tell us in the myths!). But on me it had a totally different effect. The resins and the spices, which our quite pleasant at the beginning, turn in something different, it really smell like man sweat, or like pickled gherkins. It still reminded me of this sweat not also on my partner’s skin, but in that case the other notes just rounded it into a sweet, male perfume. Probably it is due on how your skin reacts to the different elements in the perfume. The scent is really huge and it last forever, so to avoid my same unlucky experience, I encourage to try it first on you skin, just to avoid to smell like a walking gherkin for hours.

Opens very sharp, almost abrasive like. Smokey ceremonial incense or candle is what comes to mind. Spicy, warm, resinous, peppery, woody. Dries down softer with a slight sweetness from the rose and cooler base. I sprayed this on clothing and I can smell it days later. I like this, not a love. Not sure its something i would want to smell like. again, more of a room scent/candle IMO.

Imagine sitting around a campfire in the woods—that’s exactly what it smells like. Smoke from a fire, a very smoky scent. I’d say it’s very masculine, and I could never picture a woman wearing it. Not a scent for me. But i can see my dad wearing this on a gold winterday.

Almost all I can smell is super sour raspberry, followed by a concoction of notes reminiscent of black leather. Cold, a bit bitter as well.

All I get is a dry, dusty, curry smell. Strange. Not a fan.

Wow a cumin spice spray.... Overwhelming cumin dish smell. It was a scrubber for me. Unless you line to smell like you rubbed cumin and curry all over you I would sample this first. To me it’s very unappealing... in the dry down it smells like body odor.... I found nothing pleasant about this fragrance at all. A big yuck from me

YES! You are in the right if you compared this to Gucci pour homme or Bentley for men Absolute..it's the same 💯 % but with added fruitiness from the raspberry, and added sweetness possibly from the oud which continues till the dry down toning down the spiciness and incensey aspects of the inspired to an extent.

I think the cumin is simply overpowering everything else, I had to scrub it off
