Mallow

So I agree with the prominent note votes except for the orange blossom and I know OB, I own several strong OB scents. I get violets, heliotrope, raspberry, vanilla and musk but I also get a stronger almond note and the slight pink pepper. I would say that the amber and OB are the lesser notes here. It's a beautiful violet and sweet purple fragrance, slightly powdery, reminds me a bit of Celeste by Giardini Di Toscana but Celeste has that GDT vanilla, and this is a much purer purple floral fragrance, and all the other notes are here to support a purple floral perfume. The classic heliotrope, vanilla, and raspberry are added since they complement the violet well to sweeten, soften, and feminize it but I also like the addition of the almond and the musk. One of my favorite violet scents I've tested in a while and once my decant is empty I'm definitely getting a FB of this. I have Insolence, The Virgin Violet, Celeste, Gucci Generous Violet, Molinard Violette, Dama Bianca, Lipstick Fever, and Balenciaga Femme so you could say I have a thing for violets, but it can be a tricky note and I don't really even like Molinard's Violette (too earthy and dry) but this one is just what I want in a violet scent. They often either swing too realistic and can be earthy and plastic or the violet gets drowned out by the supporting notes and can be overly sweet or lacking direction. This scent has a clear perspective and scent composition and if you're into candied violets and slightly powdery scents, I think you would like this too. Not really on the same page as Insolence as Insolence is a VERY violet forward scent, in fact, I think of it as THE violet scent of all violet scents. I also have Oriana and it never crossed my mind that they were similar. Yes, it's sweet and it has a raspberry note but it's not nearly as sweet and again, I'm not getting the orange blossom. I think it's more of a cross of Dama Bianca, Insolence EDP, and Instant Magic but overall, it smells the most like Celeste (again I have all 4.)

This perfume is in the same family of the ones shown in the reminds me of section. But NOT the same, this is not Celeste, Insolence, Love don’t be shy, Angels powder, etc. The closest one is Angel’s powder but Mallow is the best most perfect version, this is and will forever be in my collection, they nailedddd that Violet whimsical candy smell. This is powdery violet candy. Nothing bothers me about it and I wouldn’t change a thing a about it. - I wanted to love Insolence for the longest time, I kept that pretty bottle for years and I just never got to wear it, it was too powdery and too mature - Love don’t be shy is not even close but I can see why people say it reminds them of this, it’s a candy like flowery perfume but with marshmallow and Orange blossom as opposed to violet, sugar and raspberry. - Celeste, which I also love, is in that same whimsical powdery violet world but this one is more violet, more powdery and instead if that candy like raspberry and vanilla, it’s paired with that same Bianco Latte DNA, strong warm creamy sweet vanilla (is not candy-like) - And last but not least is Angel’s powder, the closest to them all. I do have to say they smell very very similar and when I first smelled it I thought I would immediately buy a full bottle because it smelled so similar to Mallow. But do not be mistaken, this is like the angry, potent, older more rebellious version of Mallow, this is the older sister that is not innocent anymore and has been out partying doing her nails and lines. She looses that whimsical magic candy-like youthful touch and it becomes punchy and almost astringent, I don’t know if it’s that nail polish or the coke note but this one is obtrusive and sour almost metallic, you can almost taste it in your mouth, so yeah the best word for it is Astringent. I ordered a sample of this and have to say I really didn’t like the opening initially, which was quite heavy on the violet, but it mellows down quite quickly into an absolutely stunning powdery scent that I just can’t get enough of. I immediately bought a full bottle! When I tested my full bottle, I found it wasn’t anywhere near as violet heavy as my sample. So keep this in mind and give the perfume time to settle before passing judgement. Mallow is a creamy raspberry, almond, vanilla, violet and powdery musk. The notes are so beautifully blended. This immediately lifts my spirits and puts me in a good mood. The scent is like a comforting, heavenly embrace that wraps me up in a fluffy cloud and makes me feel calm and relaxed. This is such a mood enhancing scent for me. Especially if I feel stressed or my mood is low. I find it really very addictive and intoxicating! There’s also something quite nostalgic about this that I just can’t put my finger on. This does have a Swizzles Parma Violet sweet kind of vibe in the background. If my guardian angel had a scent, it would be this! This would be perfect for spraying before bed, for cool/cold weather, daytime or evening. I do think it would be too much in the heat of summer. It’s strong and long lasting, but I do think it has the potential to be nauseating if over sprayed. I only needed 3 sprays of this (one on each wrist and one on my chest) and I could still smell it over 24 hrs later. This isn’t like anything else in my collection, so for me and how it makes me feel, it’s definitely 100% worth the spend. It’s a new favourite! This isn’t a safe blind buy though. I’d definitely recommend testing this, but this is really is gorgeous in my opinion. I’m addicted!

I recently received a sample of this, and I adore it. It's powdery, but in a youthful, ethereal, pastel-fairy kind of way rather than an overly mature or vintage way. The raspberry note is prominent in the opening but isn't too sharp or synthetic, which has me absolutely overjoyed because most raspberry notes in fragrance are way too sharp on my skin. I can see why the comparisons to Oriana are being made, but at the same time, I understand why people say they don't find the two similar. To me, Oriana is an assortment of glossy fruit-flavored hard candies in a bowl alongside some marshmallows, a tiny bit powdery from the marshmallow note but not significantly. But Mallow is more like a powdery, chalky, raspberry-flavored candy, like if there were raspberry Smarties. However, my biggest complaint is that Mallow does not last on me at all. After two hours I have to press my nose right up to my wrist and inhale deeply and even then, the scent is faint. For a fragrance priced at $200+ for 50ml, that performance is not good enough. I might buy a 10ml decant or a partial though because it smells so good to me.

Grape Fun Dip, parma violets and a woody ambery vanilla base on me! Better for colder weather for sure. At first I perceived this as a high end hair spray in a grayish purple metallic bottle (not a bad thing to me) Don't know if it's full bottle worthy for me yet because I want to see how it performs throughout a whole day. I feel like an imp-like purple sprite would leave a trail behind that faintly smells like Mallow ☆ If you are like me and love doll head or candy scents but want a little more depth and something that fits colder weather you will love this. As long as you can tolerate a subtle plasticky note (I enjoy the smell of plastic though). The drydown is also beautiful; sugary vanilla powder pressed Too Faced eyeshadow palette to me. update: 9/10 performance on me. I smelled like a purple grape and marshmallow swirl scented doll all day. Which is all I could ever want out of a perfume. Still a little pricey for a full bottle for me but I need this in a travel decant effective immediately lol.

Absolute beauty. Universal and signature scent worthy. It smells like a perfected version of other violet raspberry perfumes I've tried. The violet is present, but it's not too strong or powdery (which is something I've had issues with before). The raspberry isn't medicinal, and the amount of sweetness is just right. It just smells gorgeous and smooth and perfectly blended to my taste. Good lesson to not avoid notes if you see them, I only got a sample of this by chance, I was afraid of the violet because I don't like lipstick scents usually. It lasts a long time and projects pretty well too. I had sprayed just once from the sample before going out, and when I returned home I had someone from my household say that they could smell it downstairs where I left my jacket, and at that point it had been some time after I returned. Great longevity and sillage in general, but stays even longer on clothes.

as someone who loves ldbs & oriana, after seeing people say mallow smells “just like it!” i knew i had to try!! anyways this does not smell the same as either one of them. sure they’re possibly blood-related, but it’s not like they are twins or sisters. it’s more like they’re second-cousins. mallow really has the most gorgeous sugary, powdery scent. honestly i feel like this is even sweeter than ldbs & oriana, but it’s not overpowering? it’s like if the sugary marshmallow note in both of those perfumes was sprinkled in chunks of parma-violet flavoured cotton candy, with a cutesy little vanilla pod and some freshly picked raspberries to garnish. she’s cute, she’s dainty. i feel like this is what a fairies skin would smell like. has a slight grape scent to it aswell, sort of like those grape pixie sticks like someone mentioned below!! lasted 10 hours on my skin, projection is quite nice too :)

agree with reviewers below that it's Insolence plus Angel's powder by BTSO, but BTSO is a later release so apparently it is rather more likely to have copied Mallow I wonder who the nose behind this one is, cause Anne-Sophie Behaghel did Angel's Dust and loads of Sora Dora, too, I assume it's her again. Sora Dora and BTSO are quite comparable price-wise but I am really starting to feel like Sora Dora's creations are all quite derivative of big hitters from some years back. I do like them a lot, but almost each time my first thought is, "oh this is very familiar" UPD: ok turns out I’m partial to powdered sweetness of heliotrope and violet It’s very sweet and overtly feminine but somehow it’s my thing apparently. Thoroughly enjoying my own scent bubble. Btw projection and sillage are great

I was put off buying this for a long time because of the violet note. I'm not a fan of purple florals but I don't get much of it in Mallow. To me, it's very similar to Oriana by Parfums de Marly, but the sweetness is slightly toned down and you also get some of the green, fresh notes from Princess by Kilian. If Oriana was too sweet but Princess was too green, Mallow is right in the middle, and my favourite out of the three right now. If you like either Oriana or Princess, there's a high chance you will like Mallow as well. The performance on Mallow is much better as well, I get up to 8 hours longevity with moderate projection. You will not struggle to smell this throughout the day and it's a very pretty and uplifting floral fragrance.

I had been looking for a violet-prominent fragrance for a while and have found it. It starts somewhat plasticky and tart, but as it dries down, it becomes incredibly good, developing into a scent that is sweet and light. Mallow fuses airiness from the violet with depth from many other notes, notably the heliotrope and the almond notes. To me, it has a nostalgic quality, reminiscent of parma violets or pastel candy bracelets. I can't detect any medicinal qualities to it as many have pointed out. Perfectly unisex (some may say it leans towards being feminine, but I disagree), can be worn all year round. Maybe a bit pricey to some, but I don't see any alternatives beating it in terms of performance.

In the opening this had an overwhelming smell of hairspray that I was not a fan of. But as it dried down the fluffy marshmallows started to come out, followed by some candied violet and raspberry. Then to tone down the sweetness just a little I pick up on some of the pink pepper. On my skin it lightly resembles Celeste by GT, but the violet is much stronger in that one. Here the violet isn’t a main character but more of a co-host amongst the marshmallow and raspberry. I also see the comparison to Oriana but Oriana is much sweeter and has a strong orange blossom note. Overall a pretty scent and perfect for spring time!

Mallow is really good, a super sweet & enjoyable new release! She is nostalgic in the best way. Perfume reminiscent of fun, fruity 90’s beauty products, evoking vintage Aussie and Aquanet hair spray. The fragrance of the luscious air that fills a room when of a group girls getting ready for a night out. A mixture of makeup, hairspray, lotions, perfumes, hair being curled and body sprays. I personally think it is much closer to IAIA Zeromolecole than LDBS. All three fragrances are in the girly sickly sweet category and you can’t go wrong with Mallow if sweet fruity gourmands are your thing!

If I was Mallow I'd be so offended at these comparisons, lol. I don't get LDBS at all. Celeste I can see some parallels but I would hardly put them in the same category (all they have in common is that they're sweet violet fragrances, but they're very different). If I had to really compare to any fragrances, I'd say it's a sweeter take on Maison Violet's Pourpe d'Automne. This actually straight up smells like a purple marker. Remember those fat scented markets from the 90s? This is it - PURPLE. Grapey, powdery, synthetic. It's unique, playful, and feminine. I'd wear this.

Loves it, smells like purple pixie dust (grape pixie stix candy + a little powdery violet). After a few hours dry down my hair dresser commented I smelled like cookies. Pricy but good longevity and the smell is PURPLE in a bottle. Update- wore it again for a workday (6am-430pm for me), I could smell it the ENTIRE day!! Even after I exercised, finishing about 630pm, I could still smell it! Longevity is wonderful. Kinda expensive for a bottle but worth it considering the great longevity

Just got a sample of this which will probably translate into a full bottle as my wife loves it! Initially you get that raspberry/bubblegum smell but it's never as out there as something like Angel Nova, the dry down I get that powdery violet with a hint of sweetness but I think you would be hard pressed to identify it as raspberry if you didn't already know it was there. I can't really say it smells like what the Vloggers would have you believe but it is definitely going to be a buy.

Mallow smells exactly like violet marshmallow to me and I LOVE it!! It's sweet and just so comforting!! It has a Love Don't be Shy feel to it also, which I don't mind since LDBS is also one of my favorite perfumes. Mallow lasts a good 8+ hours on me and projects for the first two, then becomes a closer scent bubble for the rest of the wear. I just love being surrounded in a cloud of sweet violet marshmallow! I could bathe in Mallow.

This is really pretty. Mildly Sweet & Powdery Purple Florals. I heard that this shared a similar dna with GT Celeste....Not even remotely comparable. Mallow imo is much more refined and grounded. The orange blossom and almond combo really help keep this from crossing over into "vintage" smelling territory, which I find purple florals have a tendency to do so. Great option for these upcoming transitional spring months.

I have to give my opinion on the comparison to Angel’s Powder from BTSO, yes they are similar perfumes, they are the same vibe, but they are not the same perfume, Mallow is more sweet and warm, candy-like and addictive. Angel’s is very astringent, very pungent and sharp, that nail polish note really comes through and is not as smooth as Mallow, completely different experiences with these

I had a sample of this and swapped it without even trying it because I usually hate powdery fragrances. I ended up swapping for another sample just to see...and this is in the same family as Oriana which I LOVE. Seems like there's this tiny niche corner of powdery perfumes that I actually CAN like. All those crushed smarties ones are FOR ME. 😍 I need to buy a bottle of this asap.

Very feminine, powdery, almondy scent. Really reminds me of Insolence by Guerlain, which is one of my loved and compliment getter fragrance within my collection. Therefore not really seeing the point of owning both. It is a really lovely scent, however if you own one already, do not really believe you should have the other one is well.

This is my preferred Violet fragrance, after Insolence. It’s feminine, sweet, features the Violet flower (which I love) and violets pair so nicely with raspberries, heliotrope, and almond. I like this better than Celeste. Celeste might be more interesting but the ambroxan really alters the composition for me.

Love it! It's a very particular composition where you'll need to appreciate both purple flowers and synthetic sweetness. But it's quite addictive. Performance is fantastic as it is quite a strong fragrance. I agree with the other reviewers that this is best suited for cold weather.

Oh my god this is so beautiful, it smells like a mix between Celeste, Insolence and Lolita Lempicka. I need a full bottle now Edit: I alwayss edit my reviews once I let the perfume sit and see how it develops, the performance of this perfume is shite 😭 I’d still buy it

Incredibly smooth, I get this sort of candied raspberries or grape without being mega synthetic. Sooooo comforting, I feel like this leans feminine but I actually love it regardless. The vanilla comes out a bit more as it dries down, very well done. 8.5/10

If you love these notes, you will love this. It's sweet, sugary, and powdery..the almond note is delicious too. Someone said it smells like grape flavored smarties, and it kind of does! But it's a yes for me. Haha I really dig this fragrance.

Going back to this one, this is the BEST perfume I’ve smelled in a while, it’s sweet, sour, candy like, a bit powdery which gives it that fairy dust vibe, is creamy, plasticky, rubbery, bubblegummy and just so fun and nostalgic.

This smells exactly like a mix of smarties and sweet tarts the purple ones. While it isn’t juvenile, it’s definitely a youthful and lighthearted scent. Brings back great memories, certainly one I’ll keep.

Candied violet petals with fluffy vanilla marshmallow & a sweet tartness of freeze-dried raspberries. Absolutely delicious for any lover of fruity candied violet fragrances.

This is a fantastic candied violet that smells so good!!

Not a violet flower fan and Mallow is really heavy on violet, heliotrope and raspberries. It’s such an intense fruity floral, sweet and powdery perfume, slightly spicy and nutty with a musky, vanilla base. Initial impression is that Mallow is a very dense, dimensional fragrance. It’s not my thing but I am happy to have tried it. Mallow might be someone else’s dream because for violet flower lovers and those who like a high concentration of powder and almonds in their fragrance, Mallow is really nice. I am more of a Jany type of perfume wearer! I appreciate that it’s a warm feeling scent even though it’s totally the opposite of what I normally like in perfume and I also like how noticeable the raspberry note feels in the composition. Not a simple dusty, powdery scent, has a bit of contrasting notes. Like the rest of the Sora Dora I have sampled recently or in the past, the performance of Mallow seems quite solid. When I sprayed it on skin it felt very intense and sugary sweet but then the overall sweetness tames down a bit, once the white florals and the almonds start to become more and more noticeable. I can smell it 12 hours later on my skin, but at this point it’s rather a skin scent. I bet that on clothing Mallow would be a beastly scent!

Wow, she is powerful. I sprayed my sample on a piece of paper and hours later I still get whiffs despite having thrown the paper out already. Like others have said, this reminds me a lot of grape pixie sticks and a little bit of violet on opening. Immediately it is strong and powerful but very dry in its sweetness (like a pixie stick), but it starts to fade into a still powerfully dry but more mellow sweet candied violet. It’s honestly a little too sweet for me and it would be cloying if not for the powder, but that extremely dry sweetness is also weirdly addicting? Like even though it almost burns if I smell too close, I can’t stop thinking about it. I actually really like it for some reason!! Edit: After wearing it for a day, I feel like the initial powder has really faded and I get a lot more of a sugary but tart raspberry. Sometimes I get a lighter, sweeter whiff, but honestly it became kind of cloying and started to remind me of some bath and body works spray. It's not terrible but I don't think I will reach for this one often. It's a little too much more me.

This smells nearly identical to Magnetic Candy by Finery. I would say it's an 80% match. However, Mallow is way creamier than Magnetic Candy and also more developed and mature. The three strongest notes are raspberry, vanilla sugar and almond. I can smell the violet in the background but it's not the star of the show. Other comments say that the violet is super strong but to my nose it isnt very strong :( I was hoping to smell a sweet vintage smell but I don't think it smells as powdery as I was imagining. I still think it's a really pretty smell.. probably my favorite candy scent. I'm a big fan of candy scents but sometimes I feel like they can smell cheap. Mallow does NOT smell cheap at all. This is what I imagine Carrie Bradshaw would wear, its youthful and sweet but in a chic and refined way. (I've been looking for a scent that smells similar to Ari's Sweet Like Candy but with better performance and I think this is the closest I will get. They're not dupes, but I would place them in the same scent family.)

How pretty this is... a perfectly captured vintage-modern vibe. The opening is violet & raspberry forward, for a brief moment it's reminiscent of Malle's Lipstick Rose- makeuppy, slightly waxy, but almost edible in its sweetness. Soon the heliotrope comes forward, giving an almond dough sweetness. The combination of amber & heliotrope gives a light incense-like quality. I do not get much if any orange blossom at all, nor does this fragrance remind me of Oriana or LDBS in any capacity. So that's a bit confusing to hear others say that. Maybe they're going based on notes and not actually trying the scent for themselves? It almost feels to me like there's iris in here, not orange blossom. It's slightly musky- but the body of the fragrance is mostly candied violet, then heliotrope, then vanilla & amber. It's delicious and unique; best described as vintage meets modern.

Guerlains Insolence is fairy dust to me. Mallow has a more sultry profile with the musk, it's beautifully grown up. Violet dominant floral with a soft, fluffy, vanillic musky orange blossom. The raspberry mingles with the violet, giving it a fruity tartness but not lipstick-y. I love lipstick scents, but this isn't that to me, more like a sweet tart candy. It's definitely worth the price compared to PDM's Palatine, but if you own the Guerlain -maybe not - although Insolence is colder to me. I bought a 5 ml decant and it will last a while bc it's a strong performer. Good value for the money, at least. I own several in the reminds me of section and I honestly don't get the references to any of them except for Insolence. The others have accords that are in Mallow, maybe?

When I first smelled this, I was so immediately turned off from it. If you are expecting a "marshmallow" scent, this is NOT it. Now that I've readjusted my expectations of it...I kind of like it! It has a powdery grape vibe - almost like how a purple sweet tart/rocket candy/Pez candy tastes--like a 90's candy. It's kind of tart and sweet underneath a soft, floral, powdery scent. This smells exactly like the colour purple. I cannot elaborate lol Personally, I don't think it's a full bottle for me because it falls outside of my scent profile a bit, but it is lovely and I can see why it is well-loved. But omg, not marshmallow. At all. Don't let the influencers fool you. The longevity is absolutely insane, too. Like last through the shower!

Mallow is a cozy, sweet, and sugary violet. It's not the soapy violet candies, no, this is fluffy and airy. Because of its name, I was expecting Mallow to smell like a violet marshmallow, but what I'm getting is more like violet cotton candy. I think the combination of raspberry and vanilla sugar is what's giving me the cotton candy vibe. I do detect the almond as the scent develops, but it's more obvious on my skin than on my clothes. I usually don't care for violet fragrances because they're often too floral, but Mallow has that gourmand quality that I love 💜 Perfect for cuddling or whenever you want to smell huggable.

I smell soap, bubblegum and Parma violets. Surprisingly Mallow is not as saccharine as it may sound from this description. There is a clean Springlike freshness about it. Very wearable and daytime appropriate. I much prefer it to the other marshmallow/orange blossom confections on the market, such as Oriana and LDBS (which I find toothachingly sweet and really dislike.) This is a slightly more elevated take on the powder puff sugary spongey nature of the marshmallow note. The violet note is reminiscent of both Insolence by Guerlain as well as Celeste by Giardini Di Toscana

I was reminded of Love Don’t Be Shy immediately upon spraying. They both have that same Pez element, extremely sweet and powdery. But here the Pez is raspberry flavored not orange. The pink pepper also makes it read ever so slightly spicy in the beginning which balances the sweetness of the opening. Eventually, the dry down is still sweet, but little less powdery. It’s definitely feminine, and arguably flirty or youthful. Could work year round because of the fruity and airy elements pulling it towards warmer months and the sweetness pulling it back towards colder ones.

I just got a sample of this and right away I knew it was a good one. At first it's very very sweet-- like pez candy sweet or nerds candy sweet times two. Then after 45 min on the skin the sweetness settles and it becomes this soft feminine sweet that reminds me of what a beautiful brunette girl on a white horse in movies would smell like; she's young, clean, princess like. I think i need a full bottle if i find that this frag does last on the skin for at least 3 hours.

Wanted to address the comparison to Celeste by Giardini di Toscana as I just tried them side by side. Verdict: Mallow is sophisticated, charismatic veil of mystery and temptation while Celeste is sickly sweet, juvenile sweetness without purpose or intention in my view. Only similarity is that they both have violet as the main key note but done so completely different. In summary, if you disliked Celeste (like I do) you definitely can still enjoy Mallow. Give it a try.

This opens with a grape bubble gum to my nose. reminds me of kids medicine. Raspberry and vanilla, Lovely Violet, almond, heliotrope and orange blossom. It does have a slight Oriana vibe from that orange blossom but not the same. (maybe cousins) Oriana is a stronger Orange blossom dominant fragrance in comparison (one of my favs.) This is lovely. fresh .Very fun, playful and sweet. dry-down is a candied violet and a fluffy powdery floral. Very pretty!

I can see why people compare it to Love don't be shy - it's the same scent category, but they're not actually similar to each other. I love both, this has better performance and goes better with my skin chemistry which is a huge plus, and it's more classy, which is a plus sometimes. You get a mellow, smooth marshmallow (also more perfumey - the one in LDBS is so sweet it's naughty) and a soft violet raspberry combo. Definitely on the wishlist.

This is very much a cross between Oriana and Insolence. Probably more like Insolence but much more sweet. To met it’s a very fluffy, pillowy, candy violet fragrance. Those violets are quite ozonic and then when combined with the sweet vanilla and raspberry it’s really giving marshmallow pixie dust, both the candy and the fantasy. It’s very pretty and feminine. If you love sweet violet fragrances I highly suggest you try this one.

This smells like a powdery fluffy raspberry marshmallow. It's very sweet and innocent smelling. There is a tiny bit of an animalic undertone to it which kind of reminds me of BDKs Vanille Leather which I'm not crazy about, it's really faint though. Longevity and sillage are moderate/light. I will probably pick up a full bottle of this only because the bottle is one of the prettiest I've ever seen!

I got a sample of this and absolutely loved it. The sample when on skin lasted for hours. Well... to my dismay... after buying the full bottle for $240 from lucky scent, it literally DOES not last for even 2 min. It's like I'm spraying water; no projection, no sillage, nothing. I'm hoping if I let this macerate in my closet for a couple months that it will change.

Fluffy sweet and persistent. It reminds me of pink raspberry cotton candy. As the review below notes, there is connotation of a syrupy energy drink mixed with violets. Feels suitable to a younger female demographic. I like the airy aspect but the sweetness is a little nauseating in higher doses.
