2 AM in Lafayette

If you love coffee or pastry gourmands, this is one of the best you'll find. I loved it immediately. You must appreciate a photorealistic coffee note (I absolutely do). Some people pick up chicory, and there is definitely something more complex and earthy happening in the fragrance and coffee notes. The coffee here is a deep, dark roast (exactly as you'd expect in southern Louisiana) and it really is like you're about to bite into a warm beignet right outside Café du Monde (though I guess you drove to Lafayette at midnight?) . The pastry accord is rich and dense, the coffee creamy and almost buttery. The sugar is present but not cheap or overly sweet (for a gourmand), it's been caramelised in the fryer. Everything is beautifully blended, niche-quality, interesting, and greater than the sum of its parts. Notes: *Compared to Kalotinis Coffee Addict, the roast is just as robust, but this fragrance adds a creamy, caramel smoothness with a true pastry element (I wish I could buy a pastry perfume with this accord for general layering purposes). It’s closer to Khadlaj Caffe Latte (re the coffee note), and somewhat reminiscent of Snif’s Crumb Couture (re the pastry note but minus the blueberry and with a heavier, richer pastry profile). *If you love croissant perfumes and collect gourmands, you need this beignet fragrance. If you’re not a collector and already own Caffe Latte, you might not need it. (If you have neither, this is the one to get).

i loved this immediately! the first thing that came to mind was that i had somehow spilled an absurdly expensive coffee all over myself. not just coffee either, one of those overly indulgent lattes loaded with full sugar vanilla syrup, caramel syrup, whipped cream, and whatever else they can convince you to add. it honestly smells like i bought one and immediately spilled it all over my car interior the coffee note is very strong, but what really stands out to me is how sweet it is. this is not a bitter black coffee scent. it is rich, sugary, and almost sticky feeling there is also something slightly burnt running through it, but not in a smoky or charred way. it reminds me more of burnt pancakes covered in syrup or the toasted edges of a marshmallow. a sweet kind of burnt that actually adds a lot of character to the fragrance imo!! it is definitely coffee though. there is absolutely no mistaking what this scent is trying to be, and i appreciate that it commits fully to the idea for me this was an instant love. warm, sweet, comforting, and exactly the kind of gourmand experience i am always hoping to find. a full bottle is in my near future!

The most delicious sugared beignet fried dough. Im not sure if I just think this due to the description, but I'm guessing the oak moss is the special ingredient making it feel like Fall coziness and adding some earthy spice. I don't pick up any coffee really. There is also some kind of tortilla..or is it Mexican sweet corn cake? I'm not sure but I'm about it. The overall sweet fried dough cozy essence is amazing any time, any place - churros, beignets, chips, donuts...fry those sweet treats and serve them up! Boost my mood as hard as you can sweet beignets! My daughter asked me if I was eating tortilla chips after I sprayed it. My husband has commented poptarts at one point and coffee another. Both my daughter and husband like it and I doubt anyone would be offended by it. This is my first full bottle on my fragrance sampling journey and I'm ELATED about it. 10/10

Bought a sample of this. Glad it was only a sample. This review might be a little weird. But please, try to understand lol. I would never wear 2a.m. in Lafayette. However this might be the most beautiful coffee scent I've ever come across. It's entirely too sweet and I don't want to smell like coffee. I'm going to cherish this little sample because when I smell it, it takes me back to a vacation I had in New Orleans. I'm having a cafe au lait and I'm eating beignets while sitting on a bench in Jackson square, leaning forward so the sugar gets on the wet bricks instead of my lap. A gentle breeze comes through, carrying the green smell of the leaves through the air. It smells overcast. Like I said, wonderful coffee scent, but it wouldn't be something I would wear.

Is that Lestat de Lioncourt serving me cafe au lait at Cafe Du Monde? I think it is. There's something magical happening here. This perfume is *so* special. I'm addicted. It's sticky caramel, hot coffee with sweet cream, and fresh-baked buns. DELISH. I want to take a bite. The rich coffee scent lingers throughout the entire wear, too. As the hours go by, the scent becomes warmer, sweeter, lighter, but holds a lot of its original power and gains a bit of dusty vanilla. And something magical and mysterious comes through, too. I love it so much. She wears like an absolute champ. 10+ hours later, she still smells like yummy sweet vanilla, caramel coffee, and baked goods on my skin. VERY impressive. One of my favorite Sorce fragrances.
