2 AM in Lafayette

If you love coffee or pastry gourmands, this is one of the best you'll find. I loved it immediately. You must appreciate a photorealistic coffee note (I absolutely do). Some people pick up chicory, and there is definitely something more complex and earthy happening in the fragrance and coffee notes. The coffee here is a deep, dark roast (exactly as you'd expect in southern Louisiana) and it really is like you're about to bite into a warm beignet right outside Café du Monde (though I guess you drove to Lafayette at midnight?) . The pastry accord is rich and dense, the coffee creamy and almost buttery. The sugar is present but not cheap or overly sweet (for a gourmand), it's been caramelised in the fryer. Everything is beautifully blended, niche-quality, interesting, and greater than the sum of its parts. Notes: *Compared to Kalotinis Coffee Addict, the roast is just as robust, but this fragrance adds a creamy, caramel smoothness with a true pastry element (I wish I could buy a pastry perfume with this accord for general layering purposes). It’s closer to Khadlaj Caffe Latte (re the coffee note), and somewhat reminiscent of Snif’s Crumb Couture (re the pastry note but minus the blueberry and with a heavier, richer pastry profile). *If you love croissant perfumes and collect gourmands, you need this beignet fragrance. If you’re not a collector and already own Caffe Latte, you might not need it. (If you have neither, this is the one to get).

i loved this immediately! the first thing that came to mind was that i had somehow spilled an absurdly expensive coffee all over myself. not just coffee either, one of those overly indulgent lattes loaded with full sugar vanilla syrup, caramel syrup, whipped cream, and whatever else they can convince you to add. it honestly smells like i bought one and immediately spilled it all over my car interior the coffee note is very strong, but what really stands out to me is how sweet it is. this is not a bitter black coffee scent. it is rich, sugary, and almost sticky feeling there is also something slightly burnt running through it, but not in a smoky or charred way. it reminds me more of burnt pancakes covered in syrup or the toasted edges of a marshmallow. a sweet kind of burnt that actually adds a lot of character to the fragrance imo!! it is definitely coffee though. there is absolutely no mistaking what this scent is trying to be, and i appreciate that it commits fully to the idea for me this was an instant love. warm, sweet, comforting, and exactly the kind of gourmand experience i am always hoping to find. a full bottle is in my near future!

The most delicious sugared beignet fried dough. Im not sure if I just think this due to the description, but I'm guessing the oak moss is the special ingredient making it feel like Fall coziness and adding some earthy spice. I don't pick up any coffee really. There is also some kind of tortilla..or is it Mexican sweet corn cake? I'm not sure but I'm about it. The overall sweet fried dough cozy essence is amazing any time, any place - churros, beignets, chips, donuts...fry those sweet treats and serve them up! Boost my mood as hard as you can sweet beignets! My daughter asked me if I was eating tortilla chips after I sprayed it. My husband has commented poptarts at one point and coffee another. Both my daughter and husband like it and I doubt anyone would be offended by it. This is my first full bottle on my fragrance sampling journey and I'm ELATED about it. 10/10

Bought a sample of this. Glad it was only a sample. This review might be a little weird. But please, try to understand lol. I would never wear 2a.m. in Lafayette. However this might be the most beautiful coffee scent I've ever come across. It's entirely too sweet and I don't want to smell like coffee. I'm going to cherish this little sample because when I smell it, it takes me back to a vacation I had in New Orleans. I'm having a cafe au lait and I'm eating beignets while sitting on a bench in Jackson square, leaning forward so the sugar gets on the wet bricks instead of my lap. A gentle breeze comes through, carrying the green smell of the leaves through the air. It smells overcast. Like I said, wonderful coffee scent, but it wouldn't be something I would wear.

Is that Lestat de Lioncourt serving me cafe au lait at Cafe Du Monde? I think it is. There's something magical happening here. This perfume is *so* special. I'm addicted. It's sticky caramel, hot coffee with sweet cream, and fresh-baked buns. DELISH. I want to take a bite. The rich coffee scent lingers throughout the entire wear, too. As the hours go by, the scent becomes warmer, sweeter, lighter, but holds a lot of its original power and gains a bit of dusty vanilla. And something magical and mysterious comes through, too. I love it so much. She wears like an absolute champ. 10+ hours later, she still smells like yummy sweet vanilla, caramel coffee, and baked goods on my skin. VERY impressive. One of my favorite Sorce fragrances.

sorce is on fragrantica !!!! north carolina girls 🔛🔝 never been disappointed in a fragrance from this house. 2 am in lafayette was a blind buy for me and it was no exception. a dark, earthy, warm & sweet gourmand. the oakmoss brings this really ghostly quality to it, not enough to be unsettling, but enough to intrigue i think most people will love this as a fall or winter scent but as a born and bred southerner, something about this fragrance just screams summer to me ..... it's deep and storied enough not to turn cloying in the heat and that haunting tinge of oakmoss would layer like a dream with a humid summer night in my hometown sorce i love you, never change

This is a fragrance I didn't expect to love, but ugh, I love it (just not as an everyday wear). It is pretty strong, as others have said - I have the perfume oil of it which I prefer. This opens as a latte, which perfectly balances sugar and black coffee. I don't drink coffee anymore, but when I worked in a prison, I had a very close friend who was always brewing black coffee. You know that stale, sat for hours in its pot coffee, much like how I find this to smell after a few minutes. It does dry down to a powdered sugar in the end. I really really love this, though I am sooo not a coffee girly - it's just a fun comfort fragrance.

I resisted smelling any Sorce fragrances for a long time until a dear friend of mine sent me a decant of 2am in Lafayette... This is so good, I fell under the Sorce spell. Granted, I don’t necessarily like all of their frags but this one is a beauty and I had to get a full bottle! Coffee, unapologetically sweet and delicious, and as the fragrance stays on, it morphs into a beautiful pastry confection with dusted sugar on top. A pure delight, a decadent treat, it’s a must have for gourmand lovers. Longevity on my skin is 24 hours + and on clothes, it’s eternal until you wash them. I love this so much!!☕️🍰🍦✨

I'm a Starbucks barista and smelling this immediately reminds me exactly of the smell of pumping caramel syrup into a coffee. Actually, this oddly REALLY reminds me of the salted caramel cold foam on top of a cold brew coffee. There's coffee, the milkiness of cold foam, a lot of syrupy caramel, and a hint of salt as well so it instantly clicked. There's a bit of breadiness like a beignet or other fluffy doughy treat in it too, especially with some powdered sugar on top. I wasn't expecting myself to like this because I've been disappointed by many coffee scents in the past but this one was a treat.

My signature scent of all time, this one is just so amazing. Very photorealistic black coffee opening, then you get a little bit of the pastry type note, then it fades to a smooth, perfect sugary caramel/vanilla scent. I get compliments on this all the time. Also, if you ever want to actually smell like a cookie, a professor in my lab once started getting worried next to me because she thought "something smells like cookies, is someone eating in the lab??". I don't get any oakmoss; to me this is a true gourmand. I think this is wearable day-to-day but this is definitely for the gourmand lovers.

2AM in Lafayette is simply lovely. It feels like evening coffee at home with a pastry. I love how well everything blends in. It starts off with a vanilla note making its way to a milky coffee scent that is realistic, a true gourmand. It also isn't headache inducing which is nice. The story behind it is cute too. We all love a paranormal scare in our vacations & that's where the moss note hits. I love ghosts & fall so it'll be a perfect scent for the upcoming season. Longevity is good. Still had a faint smell the morning after. Absolutely love love love this scent (*♡▽♡*)

I am the kind of person that rarely talks to myself but when I sprayed this perfume for the first time I literally said out loud "oh my god this is so good" because it's AMAZING. Smells like coffee with fried donuts, but the coffee candy isn't too sweet or cloying at all and more like a dark roast coffee with some milk, but it doesn't really smell MILKY, it just smells creamy. I don't even like coffee like that but i LOVE this... it's probably my favorite perfume right now!

wow... this is my first scent ever bought from sorce and the hype is REAL y’all!! firstly the price for an extrait is phenomenal, it lasts for hours and i know this scent is gonna bang during the winter months. the sharpness of the oak moss is so lovely and is blended so well with the gourmand profile. i get a lot of powdered sugar and the dry down becomes more creamy for me. it’s genuinely so unique and special. i’m about to become a sorce addict.

AMAZING!! photorealistic coffee smell, with a warm buttery sweetness in it. Smells exactly like coffee and beignets merged together. The perfume is incredibly powerful and it is a seriously photorealistic gourmand- for that reason, its a bit unprofessional and might be unsuitable for daily wear. Definitely too warm for anything but winter/fall. Regardless, it smells divine. If you have the chance to test it out, i strongly encourage you to do so

Beignets topped with powdered sugar, with a hot cup of cafe au lait. Literally. I have had this combination a few times in my life on trips to Louisiana. 2am in Lafayette is extremely realistic, and verrry sweet, but it's so impressive I can deal with the sugar high. I've already ordered a full bottle of A Witch's Valentine. My next purchase from Sorce will be a full bottle of this. It's phenomenal, and if you're way into gourmands, a must try.

Wow! This is great if you want to get noticed and/or mistaken for baked goods 🤣 Sprayed once. Best friend visits and asks if I'm baking something delicious. Sprayed again in afternoon. Went to teach and a student asked if I could smell baked goods. He was a good 2 metres away from me. Impressive! The best thing is that it's easily a wearable fragrance. There's depth to it (not just baked goods). Might need a full bottle!

2 am in Lafayette is magic in a bottle. It smells exactly like a caramel coffee and a warm pastry. There is a slight hint of a savory note in the beginning but that quickly goes away and you are left with a magical caramel , latte dry down. The lasting power is awesome I get 7-8 hours on my skin. I want to bathe in this. I walked into a room and my husband said wow you smell good! Honestly the best caramel perfume!!!!!

If you enjoy coffee scents you will love this. This smells like a sweet coffee with vanilla and caramel. The coffee scent is quite strong it’s probably the first thing I smelled. I don’t really notice the oak moss though. The drydown is divine, smells like a sweet caramel vanilla, super cozy! The dry down smells quite similar to Sorce’s other limited edition scent Nothing Burns like the Cold (but take out the coffee)

I really like this - it smells like powdered sugar beignets at midnight in New Orleans. I cannot pick out a specific coffee note, as its well-blended into the scent, but its certainly involved to make the complexity. I also get a slight popcorn note related to the caramel, but its not strong. Praline and something fried too perhaps. Very rich, and gourmand, and decadent without being juvenile or synthetic. Love it!

This is exquisitely addictive with my chemistry for some reason. I am not a super gourmand, photorealistic dessert perfume fan, but something about Lafayette is an absolute must. It’s a spicy gourmand for those who don’t enjoy a lot of gourmands. Rich, delectable and grown. An absolute breath of fresh air after a yr of nonstop caramel vanilla marketplace flooding. Sorce is easily one of my fav brands now.

This is absoutely my all time favourite coffee scent. It opens with a blast of black coffee and dries down to the sweetest baked treat. It lasts FOREVER on the skin and projects really well. I can’t do more than 2 sprays because I find it so strong, but in the best way. It’s sweet, smooth, creamy, and delicious all in one. I love the story behind the fragrance, Caitlin did an amazing job with this one.

To me, this truly smells like coffee and pastries with a little hint of something mysterious. My coworkers always ask why something smells like the state fair when I wear it, so they must be getting the fried dough a lot. I love this perfume and it obviously gives different vibes to different people. If you love sweet coffee scents, give it a try.

dark roast coffee with milky cream in the opening that becomes a delectable and spot on beignet smell. It's freshly baked beignets with powdered sugar on top, and that airy, warm, bready feel to it. Such a gorgeous gourmand that manages to be rich but never heavy, airy but not too light, and sweet but never cloyingly so.

Initial spray is a bit jarring because of the slight spice to it. Though quickly drys down into a beautiful coffee gourmand. Its delectable, romantic, and comforting...makes me feel so so beautiful and puts me in a mood to listen to jazz.

Wow just delicious, smells like dulce de leche tastes, I think this is what I expected Bianco Latte to smell like. I got it as an unexpected tester with my Cry Baby perfume order and I need a full size bottle immediately.

This is very strong coffee, but not in a masculine way. It's very sweet and you can smell the pastry as well. I get a bit of a milky note, too. It's lovely. Definitely full-bottle worthy for me.

Reminds me of Vietnamese iced coffee. It's strong and sweet. I don't know why, but I specifically think of a cold coffee instead of hot coffee when I smell it.

The opening worried me! It was far more savory and sharp than I was expecting. The dry down is very pleasant, beginning with a very sweet caramel and a kind of strong coffee smell to compliment it. I will say it is an enjoyable scent but falls into the trap of most gourmands, being far too sweet. Perhaps I'll try it again in the winter? It is autumn but still doesn't feel like the right time to wear it. On second spray, with less actually sprayed, the caramel isn't as strong and it's kind of a biscuity coffee smell. I think this is really wearable but like with Heal the Way by Snif I think that I just don't suit gourmands but I would love to smell it on someone else.

The opening on skin is has that photorealistic coffee scent with the oakmoss coming front and center. As wear time progresses, the oakmoss takes a backseat but is still present and the vanilla and coffee takes over. It smells like a very gourmand coffee candle you can find in home goods stores. While I think it's a very beautiful fragrance, it turns out quite savoury on my skin which can be a little off putting since it isn't super mass appealing. This is a bold nighttime fragrance that I would recommend for those looking for something super gourmand and realistic. Be prepared to have a bit of that savoury element that you often taste in breads.

This smells like a very sweet latte made with some VERY strong espresso. So strong in fact that I get a bit of sourness from burnt coffee and it is so, so lovely. A little bit of buttered popcorn undercurrent in there too that's not unpleasant. But, I don't think I'd ever wear it around the company of others. The projection is just so powerful and it lasts forever. I can easily see this giving me or someone else a headache if worn for too long. I do like it very much though, maybe to spray once in a while when I'm alone in my room because it really is a lovely coffee scent. I just wish it was wearable for me :')

Smells like a coffee flavoured waffle at the start, but fades into a generic brown sugar scent on me. Smells a little like Thai milk tea in terms of the way the brown sugar notes present itself, which I don't personally love but thankfully it doesn't stay that way forever. Bottom notes right before the scent from the skin fades away into oblivion smells like a fireplace or something burnt like that. Longevity, especially in fabrics, is pretty good. I would like it a lot more if the coffee scent stuck around for a bit longer.

i don't think it smells like beignets, just general fried pastries? but funnily enough it somehow smells quite literally pretty much every single description that's written here LOL it really does smell like caramel popcorn, caramel/vanilla lattes, etc. initial spray is quite bready from the vanilla cake and caramel (which stays all throughout), and there's coffee present at the end not cloying at all surprisingly, but i wouldn't wear in warmer weather

Sticky sweet coffee scent. Makes me think of a salted caramel latte with beignets. If youre not a fan of gourmand coffee or salted caramel scents this is not for you. I personally really like it, but it does smell like you've spilled your coffee all over yourself. I would really only wear this in the colder months and probably in the evening.
