A Party Or Something

This one smells like walking down the sidewalk on a sunny spring day carrying a fresh-baked yellow cake with pistachio icing... but then you drop the cake a few times. It's a creamy, woody, nutty, yummy gourmand cake scent with a little peek of something underneath that's green and earthy like dirt/concrete. That must be the marigold? It all blends together to be overall yummy but still strange and a little off-putting. For a second I was scrunching my nose... but it's growing on me. She's weird and I like that about her. **Coming back after wearing her a few more times to say I'm now ADDICTED to the "cake, icing, and sidewalk/plant stems" situation going on here. I smelled the remnants of this perfume on one of my jacket's cuffs and the interesting subtle cakey sweetness was SO good I had to dig through my sample collection until I remembered what it was. Ugh she's still so weird but she's *my* kind of weird and I can't get enough**

I've become... unhealthily obsessed with Sorce. This for some reason didn't make my special order hit list by a long shot. Then a reseller who apparently knows me better than I know myself included a sample. GOOD GAWWWD this scent is a winner for me. I get a lot of the notes I've read in other reviews - dirt, concrete, dandelionishness, yellow cake, ALMOND, a creamy waft that is anchored by the slightest twinge of pungency that anchors it away from overly indulgent toothache territory, a lil pistachio. I get why people say you spilled & drug the cake on the way in to the party (or something) but this is the party I want to be invited to. I'd take 1 of these over a Clairsentient any day of the week. (No hate to Clairsentient, I still have & enjoy it)

Cake scent for those who want more complexity in their perfumes than just a straight-up cupcake. There’s a woodiness that makes this more wearable (to me), and for frame of reference, I absolutely love iso-E scents, which may play a role. No shade for those who want a photorealistic cupcake, but there’s more to this one, so buyer beware!

Omg underrated sorce fragrance! A really perfect and realistic nutty/pistachio scent ( a bit reminiscent of SDJ 62) The "coziness" from the cashmere reminds me of philosophy fresh cream warm cashmere. But also has that kinda clean musky scent. I rlly wish it lasted longer tho :(

One of my favorite SORCELLERIE Perfumes! It smells like an earthy-cake fragrance. That marigold note adds something earthy and unexpected and Sorce has the best cake note there is. Gorgeous. If you enjoy Match Made In Heaven, chances are you will enjoy this one too.

Pistachio cream, almond extract, and a vanilla cake batter that gets artificial smelling as it dries down. I don’t hate this, i just don’t want to wear it as a perfume. Maybe a candle or a body cream. ***Coming back to this a few weeks later and it has definitely grown on me, it’s not as artificial to my noes anymore. I’m Still on the fence about if I would wear it as a perfume...I really just wish I could have it in a body cream!

opens a bit floral, then fades gradually through the listed gourmands the cake, white chocolate and pistachio/nuttiness was there, and then it dries down to buttercream with the iso e super this one was pleasant and cozy :) reminds me a lot of glossier you doux with the dry down especially. might be too warm for spring/summer though.

this perfume was delicious and buttery and nutty when I got it but something in it went bad and now it stinks :( like i can still detect the cake notes underneath but it skips past the concept of cake and goes straight to rancid :((( if you use it quickly though it will be delicious

This fragrance is sweet and very dry. It’s growing on me, but you need to wait for the drydown because it’s very dusty and initially smells like Doritos. I can see the comparison with Pass de Chat Odette and 21-50 Reverie by Victoria Beckham.

A lovely cake scent that's elegant and not too sweet or cloying. The dry down gets too nutty and dry on me, unfortunately.

a straight up peppered pistachio cake, it’s not sweet, can’t smell the florals

im so sad... something about oil based cake fragrances turn into a disgusting minty lemony scent on my skin. i was so excited for this but i think i have to give it to my sister. im assuming its the way the fragrance chemicals react with my body chemistry but its just unfortunate for me. (could it be the iso e super?) anyways though, out of the bottle and on fabric it smells pretty good. i think its a little bit too sweet and warm for me but if thats your thing go for it.

This is the only sample I got so far that I did not like, I am sad to say. Everything else from Sorce is a banger, though! Something in this smells like strong cedar, and I think it's the heavy helping of Iso E Super messing with me. Otherwise, I CAN smell all the other notes... there's delicious buttercream for sure, and pistachio... but that Iso E is just bulldozing all of it.

I really wanted this to be my cozy fall go to. I can really smell each of the notes and liked the earthy balance to the super gourmand elements. Unfortunately the Iso E Super turned very B.O. on me within a few minutes

Smells like cake with a side of dirt.

I received a tester of this a few months back. Smells nice in the bottle. On my skin... immediately dries down to a disgusting dirt smell. I couldn't take it and had to scrub it off immediately. Nope.

The smell of urine on antibiotics with a touch of wood and sweetness. Instant scrubber on me.

I ordered a bunch of samples from Sorce, and I was really expecting to dislike this one (I mostly got it out of curiosity). But I was really surprised! I normally *hate* almond fragrances - I dislike almond flavored things in general, whether it's almond croissants, almond cake, cookies, etc. I know this doesn't have almond, but I find that a lot of pistachio notes in fragrances really just smell like almond. Anddddd... the opening of this is PURE almond extract. Just imagine pouring a bottle of almond extract on yourself. Probably one of my least favorite scent profiles. But then something magical happens. This turns into the loveliest, fluffiest, nutty cake scent. The almond extract dies down and you're left with this sweet, delicate, slightly earthy cake. Since the opening is so brief, I'm happy to sit through it to get to the beautiful drydown. If you haven't found your perfect pistachio scent yet, I'd get a sample of this.

wooooowwowoow. after reading a previous commenters analogy to SDJ 62, i see it. this is an elevated, yummier sdj 62. rather than cakey, this is creamy to me. i had this pistachio gelato at an italian restaurant last summer—i raved about the smell to everyone, wishing i could get a perfume that replicated that exact scent. i found it, and it’s this. this is vaguely woody, but before any of that you’re getting the pistachio, butter cream and white chocolate. the woodiness about this is extremely subtle and reads more like a skin musk in execution. so happy to have tried this, hoping to get a full bottle soon!

So, I do get the cake and the pistachio in the opening. But, this one surprised me!!! Not in necessarily a good or a bad way. Just not what I was expecting. Once it gets to the drydown it completely smells like Une air d'apogee by Maison violet! I don't know how since the notes are so different. Maybe the marigold & the cashmeran. Mind you this is the oil I'm testing. I love une air d'apogee so I'm not upset but I feel like since I own that I don't need this in edp format but I will definitely pair my oil of a party or something with it.
