bought the big kahuna 100ml bottle 2/6/26 as soon as sorce’s site reopened to the public, picked it up yesterday and had the delightful experience of telling the crew there of how excitedly i tell any fellow local who chases me around to hound me on what scent i am wearing that, “it’s actually made locally! right over off e 7th street! independent, woman-owned, women-staffed perfume house! their online store closes for months at a time due to, i think? order volume, since they are just one shop, BUT you can go get it right now at the physical store if you want!” had never been in the shop before. i’m born and raised in charlotte, from the west side, never made it over to the east side much before my 20s. sorce’s store is beautiful — it is a little old house right off a road catty-corner to the main road, so still quite busy. fairy lights line the entry way, which is a screened-in porch complete with seating, etc. immediately upon opening the main door, before reaching the inside of the shop, you are hit with a mixture of delicious, comforting scents: mandarin, cardamom, fir, to name a few. i did walk in, immediately told one of the crew members that i was here for a pickup, but that i would also be shuffling and sniffing around. eventually, the other shoppers in the store dispersed and it was just me and my boyfriend sniffing imaginary authors selection by the cash register (aside: i am OBSESSED with sundrunk, literally cannot stop thinking about it) and in my man and i telling the staff that, according to my boyfriend, i am “basically a walking advertisement for fuckery over the last 3 years,” i noticed a PINEWARD display just underneath the imaginary authors on the top shelf. i gasped, told them, “oh, wow, y’all have pineward?! i actually placed a big order of samples with them back in december! i have no idea where they are, or what i ordered, honestly, and i never got a tracking number.” the staff were APPALLED on my behalf, started hunting for their pineward connect’s email, i think, offering to have him cancel my order — told me to just buy them with them, and i will!! extremely, extremely kind staff, wonderful conversation, most of them are charlotte natives as well! so incredibly considerate as to tell me, “if you smell any Pinewards you like, just pass em onto me and i’ll make you sample bottles. they’re free!” “they’re freeee?!” “yeah, of course!” ended up asking them if they ever need a another set of hands to Please let me know, as i have spent years and years trying to make my own signature scent before i found fuckery. was told to email the customer service email about this and to tell the owner, Kaitlin, about my wonder experience and frag autism. will be doing so today, and then i will be the most irritating #1 Sorce glazer on this whole site. samples i left with: Pineward, Apple Tabacc (my beloved) Pineward, Delfino (for my boyfriend, who loved it upon first sniff) Amphora, Primal Yell (LAYERS PERFECTLYYY with FUCKERY due to the musk notes + double up on cherry and HOT IRON?? LOOOOVEEE) Amphora, Virginal (immediately reminded me of what my memories of my lost, beloved aunt’s one and only perfume was my entire life: CK One — granted, I have not smelled CK One in a thousand years, so this is what it is in the deepest recesses of my brain... adore, bittersweetly so.) TL;DR - if you’re not fucking with Fuckery, that’s a you problem and maybe you’ll enjoy English Major, Snow Magic, Sit for a Spell, or Where the Wild Things Are more. As for meeee, Fuckery is that bitch and will always be that bitch For a bitch whose evil cretin of a mama LOVED amy winehouse, whose evil cretin if a mama CALLED HER to tell her most despairingly of amy’s passing at 27. now i am 27 and in love with everything and life itself. especially in love with Fuckery.

local independent perfume house has exploded in popularity, and they deserve it! my most complimented frag of all time — from getting the sample in may 2023, to finally buying a larger bottle in sept 2024. just two weeks ago, i was hunted down in gift shop by a middle-aged woman to hurriedly ask what i am wearing, and watched her face delight to know that sorce has a storefront in the noda region of charlotte, since the website is closed for orders. before this, in september, grabbing breakfast with my boyfriend after he drove me to an emergency optometrist appointment on a saturday morning, our waitress excitedly asked me what perfume i’m wearing, stood (despite the morning rush) while i explained that it is by sorce, a local perfumery, and listed the notes from memory. i have had clients stop me in the middle of court spiels to ask what i am wearing. if i sit next to a different coworker during meetings, i get asked what i am wearing. an ex-situationship would not stop sniffing my neck and frustratedly asking, “why the fuck do you smell so good?!” our first night together. for me, this is the one perfume to rule them all. i am almost out of my bottle from 2024. it is an every day. i feel off-kilter if i forget to put it on before leaving the house. when i restock this weekend, i will buying the new gigantic bottle in hopes it lasts me a lifetime.

Smells almost exactly like Blood Spider Orchids by Regime Des Fleurs due to the cinnamon in this (I described that as smelling like the inside of a warm McDonald's apple pie). Except this is much more affordable and has much better longevity on me. Dries down smokey on me, similar to the remnants of a fireplace after it has been lit out. Being a fragrance that's supposed to be inspired by the late Amy Winehouse's music, this wasn't as heavy or maybe as challenging as I imagined. I sadly don't get a lot of the cherry notes in this that's noted by most reviews here, but I don't mind as I generally don't like cherry scents if they lean too artificial/medicinal. I can still sense Sorce's gourmand spirit in this fragrance, but not overly so as the sweetness in this is more aromatic > gourmand to me. Stays crisp and aromatic in the dry down, which on me doesn't often happen with fragrances that have a smoke note (they dry down a bit stale on me) which is nice. Imo blind buy safe if you are looking for a perfume that's sultry yet cosy, sweet yet not overly cloying, playful yet serious – much like Winehouse herself, I suppose.

I fear I have a new favorite cherry fragrance... I got a free sample of this with an order I got from sorce, and I immediately dismissed this fragrance as a overly sweet cherry. Only a couple months later did I finally decide to do a wear test, and I'm so glad I did. I can definitely see some comparisons to Tom Ford lost cherry. But where LC smells more like cough syrup to me, this is more of a sweet cherry cola. I think the fact that the cherry is a little more subtle really helps. After about 2 hours the cherry cola/cinnamon scent starts to fade into a more smokey smell. After about 4-5 it's a more woody, powdery vanilla. This is way more complex than I expected it to be. A note that's not listed that I really love is the clean sheets. I've never seen a more clean "freshy" note be used in this type of scent, but I can very much sense it and is such an interesting addition. 9/10 Song it reminds me of: Ultraviolence - Lana Del Rey

Well, I can tell you there was certainly fuckery afoot when I dropped my 3ml glass sample vial of this on my kitchen floor this morning. Lol. Always fun playing "52 pick-up" with glass pieces. What's wild is they accidentally sent me two samples of this in my order... it's like Sorce knew I was a clumsy ditz and predicted this would happen. Anyway, I love it. I love that my kitchen now smells like Fuckery. I almost want this for the sole purpose of beckoning a passerby to ask me what I'm wearing. It's cherry, front and center, sweet and almost almondy (not a note in it, though). The tobacco is in the background with a sandalwood caress, and just a hint of smoke. There's a subtle milky quality to it. Fuckery is realllyy good and a worthy indie buy, yet another winner from Sorce where I'm considering a full bottle. I personally think this is way better than a lot of cherry offerings available on the mainstream market today.
