In Dreams and Fairy Tales Vanilla

I blind bought this as a vanilla girly looking for an airy, ethereal vanilla and this did not disappoint! It's very true to the notes and smells like a whipped meringue with vanilla and a sprinkle of chamomile. You can smell the airiness of the meringue and what smells like powdered sugar. The chamomile is present but not prominent and adds some extra lightness and depth to the fragrance. I have the IPM version as an international customer and while it smells heavenly, I did run into some packaging issues. The metal part of the cap is not properly glued to the inside of the cap and I have to pull the cap off in a certain way to be able to access the nozzle. In addition, the top leaks a little bit when the cap is pulled off in the wrong way. I have mixed feelings about the packaging since they are a small indie brand, but quite expensive as an international customer. However, the scent and package aesthetic is absolutely stunning!

@perfumeponderings...their profile is literally nothing but negative reviews. This does not smell like lunchmeat...like wth 😆 Sorce has AMAZING customer service so if you hated it or got a bad batch Im sure the owner would make it right. Anywho, this perfume is incredible. Im starting to grow away from gourmands but dang IDAFT pulled me right back in. Airy, ethereal & sweet but not sickly sweet. I get more marshmallow than merengue. The base is such a beautiful, powdery marshmallow heaven. I get delicious wafts of it all day. I own the blueberry IDAFT (smells exactly like fresh baked blueberry muffins w/ a marshmallow base) and I fear I will own the vanilla next!! Sorce makes the best gourmands. If you dont like sweet scents, this wont be your jam. Same vane as Bianco Latte / Tihota / etc but a touch less sickly sweet.

IDAFT Vanilla has been on my radar for months, and I finally purchased a travel size on Lucky Scent's web site during their last holiday sale. Zero regrets, and super fast shipping! It's probably the most beautiful and fluffy simple vanilla scent in my collection, and the chamomile note gives it that extra something similar perfumes are missing. For comparison purposes, this isn't quite as sweet, heavy and gourmand as Nemat Vanilla Musk (which I own and love as well). That smells like a frosted cupcake. I've also yet to smell OG Tihota, but I own 2 dupes considered accurate. They tend to pull Play-Doh-like to my nose, whereas IDAFT Vanilla isn't Play-Doh-like at all. The overall vibe/scent profile reminds me of Kilian Princess, but IDAFT Vanilla does it better. Longevity is also great!

This just replaced Bianco Latte as my #1 favourite perfume. I didn't even know that was possible. Holy crap. This vanilla is airy and feels cool. It has very good lasting power. Despite having simple notes, it smells unlike any other vanilla I've tried. The best word I can use to describe it is ethereal. It is addictive, hypnotic, and intoxicating. One thing I will mention, though, is that for the first 10 minutes or so, the meringue note smells too lactonic (like a literal cow or powdered milk), but after those 10 minutes, it is absolutely to die for. I already have an order placed for a full-size bottle. (Please note this is a review for the IPM-based version, as I am Canadian)

I don’t even know what to say. I am definitely a Gourmand girly through and through... This was on my list of things to try and wow. For an Indie house she is one of the most sophisticated and high-quality smelling gourmands I’ve ever smelled. Very sweet light and fluffy... Definitely beast mode and got it a compliment the first day I wore it and had the person asked me to write down what the fragrance was. It is 100% a super gourmand sweet sugary scent, but it has a little bit of depth with that green chamomile note wow freaking phenomenal

Sorce blew me away with this scent! It's one of the best vanilla, sugary, airy scent. It's one of the best scents in my collection. If you like scents like Happy Dust, Tihota, etc, this one will be a LOVE for you. The meringue smells kind of like marshmallow, but with a little more warmth to it. The chamomile isn't overpowering, and is just there in the background to ground this whimsical scent. Kaitlyn at Sorce does a phenomenal job. The blueberry & strawberry rosewater variations are dreamy.

This is a beautiful vanilla scent. It’s comforting and cosy. I don’t get any plastic vibes or olives.... Just straight up sugary vanilla, almost like an icing sugar in the best way. It also lasts an impressive amount of time for the price. I have many expensive vanillas that don’t last anywhere near as long as this does. This is definitely one of my favs. Well worth buying in my opinion. I’ll be adding it to my collection as soon as I can get a hold of a full bottle!

The smell is so faint at first, but as weeks/months go by the scent becomes stronger & let me tell you, this is MAGIC IN A BOTTLE! It reminds me a bit of Delizia di Marshmallow, but that one is borderline cloying. In Dreams & Fairytales is a bit more airy, but just as addicting (if not more). The scent bubble it creates is the most delicious thing I have ever smelled. I'm obsessedddd! I think this may actually be my favorite perfume ever. 1000000/10

SUGAR! Super sweet, ever so slightly burnt sugar. Smells a bit like cream cheese frosting to me, but dont let that put you off lol. I don't personally get vanilla, certainly nothing like vanilla 28 as others have said. It's more like cotton candy. Almost like walking into a candy store with an ice cream stand in the distance. It took me a hot second to appreciate this one. The blueberry one was an instant love for me, this was a slow burn.

Whipped, fluffy, airy vanilla. She might even be a little bit of a creamy vanilla, she's very smooth. The *tiniest* hint of chamomile comes through if you focus on it, but this is overall veryyyyyyyyy vanilla. Not a heavy vanilla, but a light one. This scent is very straightforward and predictable, but extremely wearable. Plays well when layering with many other perfumes, too. A great one to add to the collection.

I own or have tried quite a few of the popular vanilla fragrances and I have to say, this is probably a contender for my favorite just based on how comforting it is. I get a pure vanilla with just a hint of chamomile, just as the notes suggest. I don’t get any of the strange undertones or notes that other reviewers do, but like with all Sorce fragrances, I think it’s best to test them out before committing.

This is one of my favorite vanillas ever! Very creamy and dreamy; however, I feel like something a lot of people don't mention when talking about this fragrance is that it does have a bit of a smokey undertone. It could have been just the batch I got though. I don't mind it, I actually think it gives the perfume more depth, but I feel like people advertise it as just a straight up vanilla

This perfume creates a cloud around you. It’s very airy. It surrounds you in a scent bubble of vanilla meringue and the chamomile is only there in the opening for me. The dry down is all fluffy vanilla. As soon as I sprayed the travel size all over me and started going about my day I loved my scent bubble so much I immediately upgraded to a full bottle.

What a dreamy lil bedtime frag! The opening on this is the most DIVINE air-whipped vanilla meringue out theree. The drydown turns into a pretty standard sweet/caramelly vanilla but WOW imagine spraying this on before bed you will definitely be having the sweetest dreams imaginable on a pillow of marshallow, chamomile and vanilla sugar.

this is a whimsical, dreamy vanilla, sugar fragrance that leaves me in awe every time i sniff it. sorce is so amazing at what they do. if you like scents like happy dust, indult, etc., you will love this scent plus some. just try it & do yourself and get the blueberry version of this and the strawberry rosewater :)

gorgeoussss vanilla meringue scent with a lovely hint of earthy chamomille to balance out the sweetness. this is like the perfect scent to lounge around home in, it's so cozy. but it would also be worthy as an every day signature scent! the performance is great with all day longevity. overall rating: 🩷🩷🩷🩷💔 4.5/5

smells like the most tooth-achingly sweet crunchy meringue and you're eating that outside and there's a patch of chamomile nearby, so so so delightful. I only wish there was maybe a bit more chamomile, that would take it to the next level for me.

This is for the vanilla version. It smells like sugar and vanilla bomb and lasts forever! I can smell it even after 12 hours. You have to let it sit for at least 2 weeks the fragrance just gets better the longer it sits IMO.

This is a very well done, soft vanilla scent. It’s not too sweet and not too sticky like most. It’s airy and elegant. I think the chamomile really brings the sweetness down. My husband all but salivates when I wear this!

I’ve been loving this layered with just about everything. It’s not super strong on its own, but it’s such a light fluffy marshmallowy vanilla it makes everything better.

lovely meringue fragrance. perfect for layering over sunscreen and laying out in the sun. felt like a delicious pastry all day.

The ultimate layering fragrance

I bought the discovery set because the notes of the perfume look so airy and dreamy. Surprisingly, the one that smells best on me is the pistachio version! I like pistachio but I'm more fond of fruity, light scents, and was really looking forward to the strawberry rosewater one the most. I make eton messes all the time, and the idea of a perfume with notes so reminiscent of one really sparked my curiosity- who wouldn't want to smell like their favorite dessert? While it was still pretty, the scent was very faint on me compared to the others, and was a little reminiscent of a high quality, natural scented soap to me. The strawberry wasn't juicy and fresh, but more delicate instead. I use freeze dried strawberries often when I bake, and it was the same strawberry smell as that. However I still like how feminine and pretty it is, I guess I was just a little disappointed because it wasn't what I was expecting. The pistachio version is sweet, a little warm, light, and just very yummy. I think it's the most gourmand of the bunch, and the vanilla stands out nicely, almost smelling a bit caramel-like (albeit in a light and airy way). I think the original vanilla version is sweet and light and lovely, it truly does smell like a baked meringue. However, I would probably only buy it to layer as I don't enjoy wearing plain vanilla perfumes anymore. The passionfruit version was the strongest of all of them but I learned passionfruit doesn't smell nice on me, and I haven't worn the blueberry one enough to give a proper opinion.

This is a solid perfume. While sugary vanilla facing, I can definitely pick out the chamomile note, which gives it a soft powdery finish on dry down. The vanilla is well mixed with the merengue; the blend of them together gives the perfume a marzipan-like quality just sans any overt almond. Because of that powdery soft, almost fresh laundry-like dry down, its a very very cozy perfume, and would make a great bedtime scent. I'm undecided on just how much I like it/if its in the 'good but not for me' category or if it'll stay amongst my wearables. Of the In Dreams and Fairy Tale line, I liked the pistachio and the blueberry versions of the perfume a lot more.

In Dreams and Fairytales is exactly how I imagined it would smell: super sweet, super vanilla, and very edible to the point it almost makes my mouth water. The opening is definitely a little harsh and alcohol heavy for a moment, but it dries down quickly into this soft, intimate vanilla skin scent that’s honestly gorgeous. I really appreciate that it doesn’t project too aggressively because that keeps it from becoming overwhelming or gross. It layers beautifully with almost everything and adds this creamy warmth without taking over completely. I’m very glad I went with this one

It's an ok scent, but I personally don't understand the major hype about it. It's just an airy vanilla fragrance. And not a rich, vanilla extract kind of vanilla fragrance, just a sugary vanilla scent. That would be fine, but it might be the chamomile note that isn't working with me--something is taking away from it being a perfect sugar vanilla. It's also quite a linear scent, so if you're looking for a more complex vanilla, this probably won't be it.

got the sample as a freebie with an order, genuinely pleasant to smell :) gave it to a friend who was looking for a powdered sugar scent and she loved it as well, better for her than for me in all honesty. my thought was kinda just "oh this is nice" and not much else, but if you wanna smell like meringue with sugar on top its def for you

i absolutely love this scent, a gourmand for sure but it’s not too overpowering, i instantly smell meringue and vanilla bean, this scent is surprisingly a little bit spicy in my opinion probably due to chamomile but it’s incredible. I can’t wait to wear this for fall and winter (even though to me it can be worn all year round)

a fluffy vanilla! though I get a strong, almost medicinal or woody scent, which lingers in the background after drying down. Very, very sweet, with the chamomile still coming through. 2/5

this is such a gentle and inoffensive scent! a very gentle and barely there sweet vanilla, will definitely be buying this to later once my current vanilla perfume is done!

If you love funfetti frosting- you’re in luck! This is the perfume for you. Smells like opening a can of the funfetti frosting with sprinkles on top. Fades quickly.

A long-lasting vanilla and marshmallow musk. The musk gives off a nostalgic, old-toys vibe, but the core scent is simply "too vanilla" and fails to stand out.

The closest vanilla extract/vanilla bean scent. Almost refreshing to smell, but in the best way. Sillage is somewhat intimate but it works for me.

I have several samples from this house and this and Witch’s Valentine I am having trouble really smelling at all but my husband can smell them on me. My husband said In Dreams and Fairytales smelled like cigar smoke on me, not in an unpleasant way. The hint of it I could make out did have sort of a smoky or grassy element to it, likely the chamomile. I’d say it wasn’t bad but doesn’t really wow me. I wish it was stronger or maybe there is something about the composition that makes it challenging for me to smell.

This is a plasticky sugared vanilla that actually reminds me a little of Delizia di Marshmallow but without the vanilla. Granted, KYSE gives more of the full body sugar feel to it than this but there is a similar vibe going on. I unfortunately wouldn't say this is worth it. You do smell a bit of the chamomile peaking through but I just wouldn't find this inspiring whatsoever. It's not a bad vanilla I would say there are more quality vanillas out there :/ And btw, this has nothing on Tihota.

Photorealistic Bazooka Bubblegum. It's not bad per say, but the only two notes coming through for me on this one are powder and bubblegum. It is a very light and airy scent, which I do appreciate, however as a vanilla fragrance lover this was disappointing. I had high hopes for a fluffy sweet vanilla but, alas.

Vanilla: it’s ok. TBH the ones that said it’s better than tihota bffr. Like?? Now with that being said. It’s a light liiiiiight vanilla scent. I do know vanilla macerates and gets better with time. God knows my tihota wasn’t always what it is now. So I will put it away for a month and will update then. 😊

smells soooo realistic...freshly whipped vanilla meringue, so sweet...like sooooo sweet. if you like gourmand this is perfect. unfortunately for me its too much! this is really nice to smell but if i wore it id probably get a headache fast.

This one disappointed me. It's too sweet but also has a sharpness to it. I don't get any dreaminess or fairytale vibes from it. I received a few comments while wearing that it smells of pipe tobacco, cigars, etc. They said it was a good thing and they enjoyed the smell, but I wasn't into that impression lol. The passionfruit version especially reminded them of cigars/tobacco, but the plain vanilla version evoked it as well.

The Vanilla version is nice, but I get a bbq smoke tinge in the dry down. It's just ok for me. I'll stick with Happy Dust and Tihota for my vanilla. The Blueberry version is the exact scent of Jiffy brand muffin mix. Which is divine in my kitchen when baking, but not something I want to wear. But to each their own. However, Sorce has sooooo many other amazing fragrances that I love. These just don't do it for me.

I absolutely LOVED this on the strip. It was such an absolutely perfect vanilla that was so light and airy. When I tested it on skin however it somehow was throwing bubblegum! Like the bright pink bubblegum. I'm sure it just didn't react with my skin well but it was so disappointing, it went from a beautiful light sweet vanilla to a way overly sweet bubblegum.

Received a decant of this. To me it smells strongly of latex glove. I'm not sure if the batch was bad or what occurred to cause such a smell. Can't rate this well as a result unfortunately.

Smells like they took mexican vanilla extrait and put it in a perfume bottle.. if thats your thing. I was hoping for something more. Way too sweet for me unfortunately.

i really wanted to like this but it's just not doing it for me at all. All I'm getting is very faint vanilla notes with an overwhelming plastic-like scent.

Smells like fluffy (cotton candy ish) vanilla with olives 🫒 😭. The weird zesty/olive smell just ruins it for me. Hard pass.

This is actually repulsive, please beware. I ordered a few samples from Sorce- an embarrassing mistake as I knew better. They all smelled like sour milk and lunch meat. Others have mentioned receiving rancid samples as well. This is precisely why I usually avoid “indie brands” because really, this just translates to inferior products, made by complete amateurs possessing no qualifications whatsoever to be manufacturing products. Never again. The comparisons to Tihota and Happy Dust... 😂 I’ve been watching this brand more closely over the last few weeks. They appear to rely heavily on PR and lurk on accounts. I’m now getting the vibes of a sketchy clone brand that sends scripts to influencers. Don’t be manipulated by bartered reviews and the guise of the charming, quaint indie brand. Put your money toward a credible brand.
