Sit for a Spell

I don't even have words to describe this fragrance, it’s amazing in my opinion, my favorite of all the source frags I have tried thus far. I can't compare this to any other scent it stands on its own. You can literally smell every single note individually, but then they all come together so beautifully, its fresh, aromatic, and bright yet ever so subtly sweet. It makes me nostalgic for my childhood sitting on the porch eating cantaloupe and I can smell the rosemary in the air from the bushes around our porch, salt from sweaty skin, and honey. Absolutely gorgeous I love this!

Oh my god. This perfume... I almost started crying when I smelled it because I was hit with such nostalgia?! It is quite literally a dead ringer for salted cantaloupe. I don't think I have ever smelled a more accurate/photorealistic fragrance. I can see how this could become uncomfortably herby or even minty on some people but on my skin it is beautiful and fruity. I adore this and cannot wait to size up. This is like a scent you smell close to the skin on someone you are intimate with and think it's "their scent" if that makes sense. Very personal and unique.

I would give my left kidney for this perfume. Genuinely. It's just *so* yum. This is the most delicious salty cantaloupe and honeysuckle scent. It's sweet, it's green, it's a little herbal, it's everything. I have tried to find alternatives and nothing compares. It's juicy, it's fresh, it's fruity, it's perfect. Ugh I love her so bad. The cantaloupe note is *very* realistic, too.

this is the first fruity fragrance i’ve fallen in love with, i wish sorce made it one of their permanent scents. it smells like realistic salted cantaloupe and i love it. the perfume definitely projects and lasts longer than the oil. i need a full bottle of this asap

LOVE!! This is so unique and gorgeous. I get a lot of rosemary which I love, and the cantaloupe is sweet and juicy. I only got a 15ml and I absolutely need to upgrade to a 50ml!

this is sooo good, so juicy and fruity. i let my coworker sniff my arm and she said that it definitely smells like cantaloupe!

this perfume house adds a lot of natural oils to their formula, so i usually have to rub it into my skin when i spray this on. (i know you aren't supposed to, womp womp) it smells like sour candies for like a good 5 min, until it dries down to a nice honey sticky-sweet melon scent. the cantaloupe and honey is really prominent, the rest of the notes fade into the background as a type of earthy ambiance. perfect for a hot summer or spring day out. it reminds me of hot days spent outside eating fruit and playing with my friends as a child. this is a bit too sweet for me personally, so i dont wear it out often :P

I love the vibe this scent captures. Their website says "a perfect spring evening when it is just too nice outside to stay indoors" and it totally makes me feel like the first evening right after the time change and the sun starts to set late again. I like the rosemary against the sweetness of the other notes. The cantaloupe doesn't quite hit for me though, kind of too punchy in its sweetness. This really makes me want to try more honey scents, though!

Reminds me of when I sat outside of my grandmothers house in the temperate months of September, sitting on her rocking chair and enjoying the view, catching cool breezes from the brisk air and the melons I had just taken a fresh bite out of after lunch. It’s a blend of honeysuckles and rosemary plants blowing in the crisp wind with a little melony sweetness that smells slightly herbaceous but mostly sweet and fresh. It’s super unique!!

I'm not crazy about the opening as it carries a strong punch of rosemary salt and honey but as it dries down, a balance is developed between the sweet fruit and the salty herbs. I find it really refreshing but I'm wishing it pulled more floral. Nonetheless, a really unique scent and people will definitely notice your scent trail. I also like how it gets more airy about an hour or so into wearing it

This is a really nice summer fragrance. Smells like bright cantaloupe with fresh cucumbers! I also smell the sweetness from the honey. There’s also a hint of floral and it’s not herbal at all. This is the longest lasting fragrance I’ve ever tried, I can still smell it on my wrist the next day even though I’ve showered and washed my wrist a few times.

i was looking for a cantaloupe scent and it just so happens that sorce had one! pleasant seems like the right word to describe this. it's unisex and quite refreshing, it doesn't command your attention. it's not a sweet cantaloupe scent like i was on the hunt for, but it's nice in it's own way.

A true, juicy cantaloupe that actually sticks around. I don’t find it artificial at all. I’m also generally not into fruity fragrances, but this is amazing. I don’t think I’ve come across a cantaloupe perfume before. Really well done!

I feel bad having to write this review because I know this is a small business, and I'm not trying to bash them in any way. I'd like to start by saying that the overall quality of these perfumes is genuinely impressive. I ordered a bunch of samples and liked many of them but Sit for a Spell broke my heart. I sprayed this perfume on myself and two other people, and it smelled slightly different on each of us. So before taking my review too seriously, I highly recommend ordering a $5 sample and trying it for yourself. The opening of this perfume was absolutely beautiful a fresh, realistic, sweet cantaloupe scent that left me in awe. Everyone around me commented on how amazing it smelled... until about 15 minutes later. That gorgeous melon note morphed into something that reminded me of sweetened urine similar to the scent you might encounter in an elderly home where they've tried to mask the smell with sweet air fresheners. Because I’ve owned hundreds of perfumes and have become familiar with fragrance notes, I suspect this change came from a combination of raw, unrefined honey and salty base notes but of course, that’s just my guess based on the listed ingredients and how it developed on my skin. Interestingly, the other two people I tested it on had different results. On one person, it smelled simply salty with no sweetness at all. On the other, it had a faint urine-like note combined with a grassy undertone. Despite this one experience, I still believe these are high-quality perfumes they just won’t work for everyone. I absolutely love Snow Moon Magic, which I also purchased, and I highly recommend it. I’m still excited to try more from this creator. This review is just a gentle warning: definitely order a sample before committing to a full bottle to see how it plays with your body chemistry.

When sprayed on a scent strip, she hits with a photorealistic cantaloupe with a hint of salt, seconds later incomes a strong honeysuckle, cantaloupe still strong. The airy lightness in the notes as "Mountain air" runs as an undercurrent through the entire performance time, giving this scent an ethereal lightness. Then a realistic rosemary enters the conversation, arm in arm with honey and following being is the tiniest wisp of ambrette. On the my skin, the notes are the same but the floral is dramatically amplified, which makes me sad, but that is always the way of things with florals and my body chemistry. I kept wishing that the fresh cantaloupe would wrestle the honeysuckle into submission and return as the prominent note. But alas, that was not the case. I am still on the fence about getting a little bottle for when i might feel like exploring my floral side again because it is so perfectly composed. This is a well composed, spring/summer fruity floral that will knock your socks off. She has a strong scent trail and fabulous staying power, getting closer and closer to the skin as the day goes on. She feels like a more refined cousin to the old school cucumber melon, without the cucumber. Source has continued to surprise me in so many pleasant ways with their concoctions.

oh...! so, so much salt at the beginning. this one is so fresh, but i just don’t think it’s doing it for me. it’s not a scrubber, just very ok. it smells kind of like a good men’s shampoo? not masculine or anything, i think my partner just tends to use shampoos with rosemary, so perhaps a personal association. it does start to lighten up after some time, but there’s something almost woody about this one. probably won’t buy a larger size, but i'm glad i got to see whether it worked for me!

I have the oil rollerball of this and I get a strong cantaloupe and honey smell but it’s on the sweeter side, not super fresh and more artificial. Doesn’t last very long

Oooof that one is a no for me!! I do not know if it is the honey rosemary or salt mingled with the cantaloupe but it literally smells like piss on my skin 💀💀😵💫😵💫 Nope! Edit: The dry down is more candied cantaloupe but this is still unpleasant and difficult for me to wear...

I don’t think I’ve tried any melon scents before so I was really curious about this one and I think it was so well done. It very clearly sweet, ripe, juicy melon but it’s still fresh from the fresh spring air accord. I get the sweet powdery ambrette and a smidge of the rosemary honey but the honey note isn’t very strong. This is a strong scent in projection but not a heavy and dense.

You have to let this perfume settle in. The rosemary needed to settle on me, but I strangely love this. To me this gives second skin with an herbal scent. The rosemary reminds me of how lavender can lean masculine in perfumes. I will not repeat purchase, but I love the concept. Cantaloupe, rosemary, and salt...like an Italian Nona prepping to cook.

I think this smells quite herbal. Maybe I don’t understand quite what cantaloupe smells like because I don’t really interpret this that way. It’s not fresh exactly. I look at the notes and expect a very airy light fragrance but it smells more like an unusual tea to me.

I don’t even like cantaloupe, but this scent had me going back to buy a full bottle. I haven’t smelled a perfume like it. This is incredibly well blended and one of their most underrated scents in my opinion.

This is what I imagine a strawberry (cantaloupe?) shortcake character wears. The slight ozonic notes lend an airness that doesn't make it too saccharine but its wear is pretty one-dimensional.

Cantaloupe, honey and a handful of herbs. Smells delicious enough to eat and lasts all day on my skin.
