The Lovers

The way the Vetiver is done here reminds me a bit of Bal’d Afrique. Very lovely either way how everything is smooth and almost silky textured with the iris and sandalwood combined. The bamboo gives it a bit of green freshness while the banana gives it a bit of sweetness. Love the banana here, it’s just a hint of a fresh one, not like a banana candy. However, its almost skin scent after 30 mins which is a bummer. Only reason stopping me from buying a full bottle

An under ripe banana in the best way. This is green and edible without being sweet or sickly. One of the best banana fragrances I've tried in my scent journey so far. A fun and unique take on a summer scent!

Very strong fresh banana and iris on my skin, very summery and light. A favorite for me, but I wish it left a better scent trail, people tell me they can never smell it off me.

I was afraid of the banana in this one, but it's not scary at all! Don't be scared! This perfume is so interesting. The initial banana sniff is almost creamy and fluffy "laffy taffy" sweet, but that quickly settles and blends into something gentler.It's a light and green banana, still sweet but not dense and syrupy at all. The banana weaves into the florals so lightly, so playfully. This scent is very green, woody, almost airy and humid. More green than fruity. It's one of those scents that I can almost taste on the roof of my mouth. It's perhaps a little powdery from the iris, but quite light overall. Not my favorite Sorce scent but I like her!

A green jasmine woody scent perfect for spring and summer. The banana in this isn’t very obvious, the vetiver is quite smooth, it has similar vibes to Byredo’s Bal d’Afrique in some ways. I’d say this is a soft scent and office friendly.

It’s tickling my nose every first few sprays. It seems like a light floral at best, but there's a sweetness that jumps out from my chest. I’d like to wear this every day. 🍌🍌🍌

The Lovers is a beautiful take on a tropical fragrance. It seems they usually smell like sunscreen or a piña colada but this is light, soft, creamy, floral. It smells exactly like Smarties when I smell the bottle but on the skin it’s much more creamy and powdery, with just a little tartness from the bergamot. It’s almost cooling. I got this in a discovery set; it’s not the scent family that I typically gravitate towards so I won’t buy it in a full size but if you like tropical summery scents this one is worth a try!

why does this remind me of straight matcha powder. very green and earthy, but in a powdery, woody way. i wanted more green banana in this one, but it’s a little too much jasmine and vetiver i think. probably not a purchase, but was fun to sniff. eventually dries down to ??? unclear, still wouldn’t buy, just wish i got more banana (and bamboo, tbh)

I was surprised how sweet this is compared to what the notes suggest. It’s not as fresh and green as I tend to expect with bamboo notes. It smells more like banana candy on my skin.

I was looking most forward to this one, and slightly let down. Let me start off by saying the actual scent is unbelievably beautiful! The banana and bamboo mixed with the vetiver and wood notes are a gorgeous blend that leads to an airy floral. It is a notably well blended opus for the olfactory palette. My gripe comes through with the actual projection and sillage. There is almost none. The staying power is hardly skimming the skin. It feels like I spritzed on air! You have to be very very very close to even get a slight whiff of a phantom scent. If anything someone needs to be pressing their nose directly onto your pulse points to get an actual scent. It's a bit disappointing. Overall the scent is insanely lovely and I would absolutely buy a full bottle if they worked on the actual projection of the perfume as well as the staying power. The other fragrances in their discovery set are amazing projection and staying power! This one had much to be desired in that department. Overall I wish this one was a little louder and not so much a faint whisper beneath a quilt.

I was watching Mr. & Mrs. Sniff on You Tube review her Sorce collection. I am newer to Sorce. My 1st purchase was just within the last few months. Jaime reviewed this scent and said this was the blueberry jam scent. I looked at the notes and thought how is this blueberry jam. I blind bought a 50ml bottle instantly because I trust that woman that much. I received it and rushed to get it on my skin. First impression was hmmm not sure about this. I love iris so I liked it, but my mind wanted blueberry. I will say to let this rest and spray it out at least once to let it start macerating. I came back to it a week later and boom it is actually blueberry jam. I wore it yesterday and could not get enough of the scent bubble I had for the day. Hands down this is one of my favorite Sorce scents. I am so impressed with the beautiful scent and the longevity. I smelled warm blueberry jam all say. Amazing and magical :)

The sample is comprised of a highly oily liquid, which was a bit surprising. I smelled this without knowing the notes. I immediately picked up iris and some star anise. The mixture of notes reminded me of Good & Plenty candies. As the fragrance dries down, that star anise and Good & Plenty feel dissipates. However, it maintains a very dense, sweet, powder scent. I am an iris lover, but this one is not for me. Too sweet and chalky for my liking.

I’ve noticed a lot of Sorce fragrances tend to have this lemon cake sweetness to them. Lovers, Dragonfly Wings, The Light Through Clouds... they all smell similar even though the notes are very different. I love the scent, don’t get me wrong. I especially love the orris in this one. Just something I noticed.

Initial spray is a lush bath bomb to my nose. It’s pretty though, dries down to a fuzzy soft sweetness.
