This is Not a Love Spell

This is something that I think really fits me. I think this is one of my favorite fragrances after sampling. I'm so picky about florals and I was afraid I wouldn't like this after not liking what is supposedly another violet-forward perfume (Flower by Kenzo), but this fragrance made me realize that, when the note is executed properly, I actually love violet and it might just be one of my favorite flowers in perfume. I need a full bottle of this stat. I'd love to wear this out any time I'm wearing cool colors or a cute dress I don't think I have a matching perfume for! Feels like something a princess or a doll would wear and has a lot of fairytale-esque whimsy. It's very much powdery in the makeup powder way; not like baby powder or a baby wipe. It isn't too sweet or too powdery and you get a fair share of blueberry and violet in equal measure. I definitely don't get lavender, anise or vanilla, though. The alcohol spray has also lasted for over a day in my hair and my clothes, to a significant degree I should add. It isn't a "if I press my nose into my hair, I'll still smell it a day later" situation, but a "if I flip or move my hair, I'll smell it" one.

This is the most delicious blueberry jam sweet syrupy fragrance ever. It’s the most realistic blueberry note I’ve ever encountered in a fragrance. I absolutely love it. There’s a little powdery violet, a dash of anise but not much and a tiny hint of something green. But mostly it’s a delicious sugary blueberry compote fragrance. I adore it! Edit: To my nose there is a slight difference between the perfume oil and the alcohol spray. The spray does have more violet and is much more waxy and lipstick like. The oil has far more jammy blueberry. The initial review I did was for the perfume oil & I just received the spray last night.

I have been obsessed for years with the Chowards Violet Mints. Sugar and violet, pretty exclusively, but something about violet is so delicious to me. This perfume reminds me of those. This smells like candy and violets with beautiful juicy background notes. One of the only perfumes that I went "oh my GOD" upon smelling. Amazing!!! However, this is a strong floral scent, so if you are prone to getting sick of a scent after overuse, I would definitely use this sparingly, and not as a daily.

sorce sent me this is not a love spell as a free gift with my sample purchase of in dreams and fairytales vanilla which i am so happy about!! i honestly like this one a lot it’s very sweet and fruity i definitely smell the blackberry and sugar notes it smells very sugary and yummy like a pie but not a gourmand i like it very much

Someone downline said "Jammy violet dominant blueberry" and that is spot on! I fell in love the second I smelled it. It was actually a blind buy but only 15ml. Now I want a big bottle! It's just lovely and yummy but not too sweet. It's rather perfect. The blueberry comes through and pairs so nicely with the violet.

Delicious, jammy, violet scent. The blueberry notes are lovely and tart-- not artificial blueberry muffin vibes at all. It's so versatile as well, I would wear it anytime anyplace. Perfectly intoxicating, flirty, mysterious, sweet and fruity. I love the name and packaging of this scent-- it emulates it perfectly!

At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about this one. But throughout the day, the sour-sticky-sweetness grew on me and I could NOT stop sniffing my wrists. She's sour blueberry jam on a warm sunny day, with a splash of green powdery floral to round her out. She's even a little... herbal? Spicy? She's delicious.

i'm addicted to this. ordered a sample and couldn't get enough so i just received my 50ml in the mail and am sniffing my wrist as i type. so delicious, buttery and jammy and sweet and perfect. also pretty beastmode longevity on me personally

I thought for sure this would be not a favorite because of the sugar note. But I ended up loving this one. Especially after the dry down. The violet was so forward and good, and the longevity was great for me.

Sugared violets ans blueberry jam. I’m smitten! It’s like original Lolita lempicka and celeste had a baby! It’s very Violet heavy so you have to like that but lucky for me i ADORE that

This is absolutely a fragrance made for a garden fairy. It's the most dainty blueberry note I've ever got my nose on. Absolutely beautiful and enchanting!

Smells like a Barbie princess's makeup box. Candied blueberry is the biggest on my skin but also has a really pretty violet

Took one sniff, immediately knew I needed a bottle. Beyond obsession.

The most delicious purple perfume fantasy

oo! photorealistic jammy blueberry hello??? i don’t get much star anise (which i’m quite ok with) but i love the greenness i get from the ivy and lavender combo! if where the wild things grow ver. i is sticking your head into a ripe strawberry bush in the peak of summer, this is sitting next to a blueberry bush in the spring that just started to bloom. less syrupy, more natural! i think i would get an oil of this one!

After wearing this, I realized how perfect blueberry and violet go together. I love it! My only gripe here is that the violet is more prominent than the blueberry on me. I was hoping for relentless, juicy blueberry all through the top! It's there, but the violet shines more on my skin. Either way, it's a lovely and sweet creation from Sorce, and long-lasting.

This is a pure violet, which I love. It smells just like the Choward’s violet candy that come in the purple foil wrapper. You get a little bit of blueberry vanilla as it dries down. Very light, very airy, very feminine, and very spring. You could probably layer this on something else to make it deeper, because otherwise it might get a little bit one note.

I bling bought. Don't think I would have bought otherwise ... why ? Well it is nice but very straightforward blueberries + sugar. That's all I can smell basically. It's nice but a bit juvenile for my taste. I will wear it to cheer me up at home and before bed. Longevity is not great, it's an ephemeral scent.

eating blueberry pie on a lavender farm. or something. i wish the violets came through for me more but it's still balanced. next time i go berry picking i'll wear this and everyone will think i dove into the bushes headfirst

Very rich and jammy. I can definitely identify violet before reading the notes, it makes the blueberry very sweet and buttery with its signature powdery body. It’s quite strong in a way that reminds me of Lush’s No Way to Say Goodbye blackcurrant, which is also very jammy and almost gasoline-esque. I get the same effect here. It’s nice, but only in moderation.

wow ok so this is a sugared violet frag! it's a bit bath bomb-y and a powdery fresh floral, something akin to the delina family. i get more like general berry scent than blueberry, and i'm guessing it's the star anise that turns this malty! not my typical go-to, but this is great for sweet floral fruity fans who are feeling flirty and sentimental.

Sour, fruity laundry detergent lol. Smells nice, but not for me. I don't think it smells anything like the blueberry in IDAFT. Tart and sweet on first spray, but quickly turns into a fresh green blueberry and detergent. I also personally don't think this smells like jam or pie at all. I get 0 sugar from this.

Jammy violet dominant blueberry. Reminds me a LOT of Lush’s No Way To Say Goodbye in nature, just blueberry instead of black currant. The violet gives me that gasoline adjacent feel, not sure how else to describe it. Can’t really get anise or lavender amidst the pungent fruity violet.

I got the “ À Love Story” discovery set in the edp spray and I’m wondering if I should have gotten it in oil form because my sample of This Is Not À Love Spell smells like hairspray after you’ve sprayed way too much and it fills up a room. I don’t smell jammy blueberry nor lavender nor sugar nor violet— all notes I love—just hair spray. I wonder if I got a bad batch?! It smells awful and I was so excited to try it! Oh well, I guess I’m sticking to Giardini di Toscana Celeste - which this absolutely does not smell like- for my powdery violet perfume. I see the first perfume that comes up as a similar scent is Lolita Lempicka and I remember feeling catfished( scentfished?) by the beautiful bottle back in the early 2000s because I hated that perfume.

The violet is more pronounced than the blueberry for me, I have the perfume oil for reference. I ordered the spray but when I received my package they gave me a different sent... So I can't compare. Emailed them to let them know my order was incorrect but they never responded. I think for the price and length of time it took I would spend my money on other wish list perfumes. Also I received another perfume in my order and there were tons of chunks at the bottom and clogged the spray bottle. The spray bottle never worked so I had to buy a new bottle and filter the perfume myself. I was very disappointed.

This sort of smells like the inside of a Lush which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's not something I personally want to smell like. You have to REALLY love violet to fully enjoy this scent, and I'm discovering that I'm maybe not a big fan of that particular note in perfumes even if I do like them in real life. I would absolutely rec this to a violet perfume fan though - it's moderately long lasting, and has a decent scent bubble too so you don't need to be reapplying it frequently. It's a good scent, just not good for me specifically.

I want to enjoy this so badly but the violet is throwing me off. I typically have a strong distaste for violet but because there have been exceptions to this in the past I was excited to try this. To me it smells like Dama Bianca(which I hate) plus Sol de Janiero 59(which I love) plus a jammy berry. It’s simply the violet I don’t like. I love the sweetness and the berry aspect is gorgeous.

On my skin, this smells of lipstick and hard candy. Not very jammy to me sadly, as the reviews say the opposite. More sweet in a saturated, floral way. On paper, quite floral, slightly medicinal, slightly licorice adjacent. The violet is a lot more prominent than the blueberry is to me.

POWDERY! It's pretty simple. I'm not getting any blueberry which is what I was excited for. Kind of smells like hairspray, overall this is underwhelming.

Way too sour. Blueberry note is not a green sour blueberry, not jammy. It's powdery fom the violet. The anise and lavender are there but are overpowered by the sour note. Overall, I found this unpleasant and one dimensional.

i've been on the hunt for that nostalgic 90s barbie doll hair scent and this was almost it! if it had added notes of strawberry and guava, this would've been complete for me! still, i'm pretty impressed with this is not a love spell. i usually prefer alcohol based fragrances from this house over oil (due to projection/power) but in this case, the oil wins for me. in the oil based version, the blueberry stands out whereas the alcohol based version is violet heavy (kinda sharp and headache inducing). what went from a free sample has now turned into a full size :) *adds to cart*

This perfume reminds me of one of my favorite childhood candies-Choward’s Violet Mints! I have never smelled a fragrance like this one and I am completely obsessed. It is such a yummy and unique fragrance. I loved this fragrance so much I wrote my first review on Fragnatica! I have tried many Sorce fragrances and I would definitely recommend trying more from this house!

I have been searching long and far for the perfect candied violet scent and this is it for me. Bright and springy with an added sweetness from the blueberry jam and vanilla, I find this scent fun, energizing and youthful. It brings on a feeling of deja vu or childhood nostalgia. I wear this when I want to be my happiest, kindest and most radiant self.

Interestingly, a lot of this house's scents are coming across very woody on me. This is like a moody cotton candy. It's atmospheric, but it's not too sweet. I think the violet, lavender, and blueberry combine into a deep purply berry scent, but it's not sickening. Very beautiful flormond 7/10

I really wanted to love this, but the violet is just too prominent for me. This made me think of blueberry scented kids makeup. I thought the blueberry might tone down the violet a bit, but somehow it just amps it up and makes it a bit headache inducing for me, unfortunately :(

What a gorgeous violet!! The blueberry is lovely too. They were made for each other. You have to love violet, which I do, but this is gorgeous. Doesn’t feel cosmetic, but also doesn’t feel syrupy sweet. It’s a floral gourmand that would work well in any season.

Super jammy blueberry with loads of violet! The violet fades after an hour or two and I’m left with a beautiful fruity vanilla. I can’t wait to do a full wear test and maybe layer with Vilhelms “Poets of Berlin”

I adore the smell on card or on first spray. Unfortunately it seems my skin does weird things to it and all I smell is a really powdery violet.

More than anything this smells like lipstick and Iris to me even though there’s no Iris in the notes. I like it enough to have a small bottle.

I must be nose blind to whatever compound/note makes the blueberry in this, but my gosh is this the prettiest sweetened violet scent!

this is such a pretty lavender perfume. i love it, it’s sweet, clean, and not cloying. really good for an everyday scent.
