IF was launched at a time when sweetness was fully embraced as an element of male-marketed fragrances, having seen the likes of Gaultier's Le Male and Givenchy Pi achieve success in the preceding years. The galbanum contrasting with a candied lavender in its opening is quite mouth-watering, and this leads into a core of cinnamon and aromatics that are already underlined with a whole lot of tonka and vanillin that makes most of its dry down, save for some suggestion of woods. While it smells pleasant and I wouldn't object to wearing it if I were forced to, I can't help but to feel this style hasn't aged all that well or has yet to see a true resurgence of nostalgia and vintage appeal. It feels much the same way as looking back at the ubiquitous Y2K futurist imagery in popular culture. Over 25 years on, It feels sort of disconcerting and well...goofy. That's not to say this would make you "smell goofy—but it just might make you *feel* goofy, especially if you came of age in that time period. It is one of the nicer ones of its kind from its era, though.

I'm gonna give my opinion as a young woman, since there are only reviews made by men. Listen, this is probably one of the sexiest perfumes for men that i've ever smelled. It's not like i smelled many, especially for men, but i can appreciate the masterpiece when i see(smell) it. It's strong, seductive, spicy. The first thing i imagined when i smelled it was a man offering me a hand and then pulling me in, making me fall somewhere dark and then someone catches me with their arms. Weird vision, but it represents this fragrance really well. I also imagine some man living in his wooden house, somewhere in the forest. Anyways. At first it's too strong and you have to let it sit in, and then you can smell it. At least for me, it's too spicy. But later on it becomes more sweet and woody. I have very nice memories with this masterpiece. Unfortunately, all beautiful things must end. IF by Sorelle Fontana was my signature scent during my teenage years and I was often identified by it for a long time. However, for some financial issues the Italian house of Sorelle Fontana was shut down & sold out. Consequently, the production of IF for Men fragrance was discontinued. IF for Men was rich, deep and captivating sweet tonka bean fragrance with moderate longevity and very good projection. The only other fragrance that has some similarity in lovely tonka bean note is Boucheron Jaipur Homme. Yet, I prefer IF over Jaipur due to its smoothness. 10/10 Masterpiece

Ahh my dad's scent, I have many memories of it as a kid. Lovely fragrance, I have 1/3 of a bottle remaining, liquid gold haha
