Nostalgic Velvet

On my skin - not *that* similar to Devotion by Dolce & Gabbana (a fragrance that I find cloyingly sweet)! Nostalgic Velvet opens with sharper, greener notes. Then, what a transformation: the most wonderful dry-down, a tasteful vanilla that makes you want to keep sniffing and sniffing. An elegant gourmand that's hard not to like. Sits very close on my skin, which I like. It makes this fragrance that more inviting. I just wish it had a longer longevity. But with such a low price, I can get past that. Delicious fragrance for all occasions - I'm in love!

I found it EXTREMELY similar to Devotion (Dolce) - Sintra (Memo Paris) - Colonia Nobile (Giardini di Toscana). Not a bad scent, but nothing new either. If anything, it’s a more accessible alternative to that triad.

I had super high expectations for this and I was a tiny bit disappointed, mostly because it's not the orange/ice cream gourmand I was looking for. This is first and foremost a white floral, tinged with orange peel in the opening and some sweet vanilla in the drydown, but the most prominent note throughout the evolution is definitely orange blossom, done in a traditionally soapy way. It has nothing to do with the likes of Devotion, Lira or Akro Bake, which are all way more edible smelling - I get no ice cream vibes from this at all. I should note that the presentation is very nice and the perfume is clearly high quality and well thought out, but still not what I expected from the description and the notes. Longevity is good (around 6 hours) and it is a very loud scent in the early stages of evolution, so you don't need more than a few sprays. I also do think it leans feminine.
