Laylati (Afgano Puro)

Due to the relatively high concentration of oud oil in Black Afgano (and in the house of Nasomatto in general), I've not had the chance to smell Black Afgano yet, so I can't comment on the similarities Laylati has with it. I was debating with myself with the choice of either this or Xerjoff Fars. What made the purchase was that I found Fars (and the Xerjoff line in general) to be a little too crowd-pleasing for my taste, and severely overpriced for a 50ml bottle for the quality of content. Using synthetics is common in the niche line, and can be difficult to distinguish for natural ingredients if well-blended. But having the need to spend more than a product of the House of Matriarch? I'll pass. Scent: 8/10 My first contact with the Sospiro line was none other than Wardasina, which amazed me with the strong character of its Bulgarian rose note. Laylati inherits that strength and depth, but you can smell the nuances oozing from within. The initial blast has tea notes that yields a balmy flavour, but the complexity of the heart and base notes is what really captivated me. I have no idea why oud was not included within the list of notes. To my nose, it seems rather apparent and distinctive. But like most Western oud, Laylati's is toned down with musk and some traces of incense (which I suspect is tobacco). Sweetness is there, but it's just enough to give the iconic fullness of the oud/vanilla combo. Overall, very potent, yet comforting. The scent profile screams enigma and grandieur at the same time. Silage: 9/10 Nuclear. Period. No more than two sprays. Even two sprays stretches the comfort quite a bit. I suppose it's reasonable to expect this of something from Momo. Versatility: 6/10 I can't see this being pulled off in shorts, T-shirts and jeans. This is definitely for dressed-up events, and not for close encounters. Not for the summer heat as well. Spring might be okay, despite marginally. But would I wear it daily? I don't mind! Longevity: 9/10 This thing lasts about 14 hours on my skin, with 4 to 5 hours of nuclear projection. That's more than what I asked for, but again, it's Momo. I can even smell this from the velvet coating itself! Overall: 8/10 (Outstanding) This one is a must-try for any fragrance lovers.

Fragrance -Laylati (Afgano Puro) Sospiro Bottle from - 2015 Laylati is a mystical,mysterious,dark,enigmatic and deep scent of the night,with a little bit loud and challenging opening notes of herbs,followed by earthy patchouli,that give way to a enchanting,smokey,woody and spiritual mix of cedar,tobacco and musk,with a hint of moderately sweet vanilla,in the drydown.It has some similarities to Oud Alshain by Tiziana Terenzi.It is also very similar to Black Afgano by Nasomatto,but he took a different approach.I would say a lighter approach. Longevity - 10/10(10+hours) Silage/Projection - 10/10(excellent projection and silage for the first 4-5 hours) Weather - best in autumn and winter Age - 30+ Compliments - 8/10 Scent - 9/10 Main notes according to me - herbal notes,musk,cedar,tobacco,patchouli. The drydown is nice and deep and i get some - woodiness,smokiness,musk,vanille and tobacco. Emotions - dark forest,mystical,mysterious,spiritual,dark vibe elegance,enigmatic. Occasion -special occasions,nights out and formal events. Try before you buy.Don't blind buy this one.

I had a chance to sample this one and I disagree with notes breakdown here (again). I agree with many other reviewers that it has similarities with BA from Nasomatto, and I truly believe this is due to weed notes, not mentioned in the notes breakdown. To support my claim, I sprayed Kenski on my arm and compared both looking for that note in particluar, and I am convinced its present in both, although its much more pronounced and less refined in Kinski. The notes I can smell are: heavy incense (or bakhor maamoul to be specific), weed, rose, oud, and musk. Its certainly not fresh green in any shape or form, the name of this perfume translates to "my night = laylati", so I wouldn't expect fresh notes there as it contradicts the theme of this perfume I spent some good time analysing the notes and thats what it smells to me, some people might disagree though. As with most perfumes I tried from Sergio Momo, its a powerhouse and very sophisticated one. Its really good perfume, but those not familiar with strong perfumes might not like it

Sospiro is a magical brand that I've only begun getting acquainted with and spending quality time studying recently...... Full reviews will come soon, but for the meantime, please allow me to share my TOP 5 Sospiro Frags imho.......... 1. Wardasina: Sheer luxury of Rose, Saffron & Tobacco! 2. Capriccio: One of the Most intoxicating openings EVER- the breath of Angels...! 3. Verde Accento: Xerjoff Nio & Le Labo Bergamote22 hooks-up and has a child.. 4. Andante: A sophisticated and refreshing alternative to Terre D'Hermes 5. Duetto: Smooth, creamy Oud, not that "skanky" Oud that repulses so many.....

It's really beautiful. Yes smells like Afgano and lasts and projects fantastically. But man o'man it's got the most ridiculous bottle I've seen on a frag. Who'd want a velvet coating on their perfume bottle. You cannot see how much is left of it and the velvet they use is a cheap jewelry box lining. I dont even want to touch the bottle. Gives me the same feeling I get from a squeaky chalk on a blackboard. Sospiro people, use glass bottle!!! You are not doing any justice to what's inside the bottle.

So After Sampling All The Sospiro Discovery Set No.1 This Was The Stand Out, Masterfully Blended It Has To Be Said (Close Second Accento). I Can Not Pin Point Exactly What I Like About It ... It Smells Woody, Earthy, A Little "Smokey/Incense-y", Sweet .... And Some How It All Combines Beautifully. Longevity Is Great Projection Is Great And To My Nose This Is Simple & Quite Unique Well Worth A Try If You Can get Your Hands On It!!

I have the this on one hand and wardasina on the other. This has a black afgano vibe going on. Not the same scent, but similar. It has other things going on and is very complicated. I feel it develops over time. Wardasina has a similar vibe but with a deep rose very present in the background, seems darker and richer. I can't justify the retail on these, I'd pick up a tester if the price was right though

Totally agree with the consensus that this is a lighter Black Afgano. Longevity 14 hours + decent projection and silage. Black Afgano is a fragrance I admire but have never considered buying as I would put it in the difficult to wear category. Laylati is much more wearable in fact I often wear it to the office. It can also be worn more of the year. It's one of my fave cold weather fragrances. 8.5/10

I've got the sample of Sospiro Laylati a few months ago and used it several times. It's smoky, woody, incensy and a little bit sweet. I must say I love to smell this beauty on myself...it's everything. It also has an awesome sillage and longevity, indeed one of the best quality fragrances that I've come across. It's totally unisex and perfect for colder months of the year, day and night.

Just a suggestion for layering here that I accidentally did and I actually love. Try layering this with chocolate greedy from Montale (1:1 ratio). It's fabulous. The mix of incense, tobacco, patchouli and (weed) from laylati seem to work really well with chocolate from Montale. Give it a try if you have both or happen to wonder into high end perfume stands.

Laylati is a Lovely Scent. Not sure what it is, but it reminds me of its Big Brother (Sospiro Wardasina). Longevity is excellent. When it is sprayed on your clothes it can last for upto a week (if not a month in the wardrobe), but on your skin you are rest assured of nothing less than 10 hours except you swim all day.

@Gileshowe: Your observation regarding Laylati is spectacular.... It is "Black Afghano lite" indeed- smooth tobacco, smoky Cedar, smoky and yet smooth at the same time very incensy...... I'm certain Sergio Momo was thinking of this one when he created Wardasina...... Wardasina - Laylati {Less the Rose & Saffron}

This is another mini review, I notice it's called afgano Puro now and I wonder why the name change? Did they notice that people are comparing this to black afgano so they wanted to ride the tide ?

The smell of this perfume is between Black Afgano by Nasomatto and Alexandria II by Xerjoff. بویی مابین بلک افگانو از برند ناسوماتو و آلکساندرای 2 از سرجف داره

Laylati feels linear to me, it's a musky woody scent with added herbal notes. It's not dirty or animalic, to me it's quite tame and sweet (creamy vanilla). I can get the connection with Black Afghano and indeed where BA kicks a punch, Laylati is lighter and more relaxed. I can feel it's dense, oily, but that there is something that doesn't let it jump of the skin too much, although the longevity is high; it has a light feeling about it. 6.5/10

This is amazing! A perfect blend of cedar, patch and musk, animalic yet perfectly wearable, with woody nuances and a very gentle, almost imperceptible input of smoke, slightly balsamic and moderately sweet, this is Laylati Sospiro summed up! The fascinating thing here is Vanilla and what a great team player is with the woods and musk! Overtime tobacco gets more pronounced, aromatic and well blended with the rest of the notes, deep and memorable. Patch and cedar here monopolize the show but allow a gentle sweetness from vanilla to come through and add a resinous aroma over everything. A great scent, inspiration and concept!

I agree this is what a few others have described as Black Afghano Lite. I have BA, which I absolutely adore. Laylati is lighter, sweeter almost reminiscent of Erba Pura, also from Sospiro. Not sure of similarities to Wardisinia (sp?), which I am now curious to pull out my sample, as I do detect an underlying spice that dirtiest up the composition a bit, as well as a creaminess. Better choice if the BA hashish note is too prominent or offending to your nose. Unfortunately, I get no tobacco here.

MY NUMBER UNO SOSPIRO and I have 4 others..... 2. Duetto 3. Capriccio 4. Allegro 5. Vivace PERIOD. Afgano LITE is not SPOT on, I have Afgano, but it's close. You can wear this on kool spring and summer nights. GET SOME if you can find it. As of right now, I just convinced a FB buddy to buy his bottle, so there's ONE left!!. In a nutshell, this is Black Afgano lite. They are so very similar, this is just less heavy. Both are gorgeous IMHO

it is very similar to Duro Nasomatto in the dry down. very lovely wood musk tobacco.
