Tenore

It took me a while to figure out what exactly I wanted to say about Tenore. The first time I tried it, I actually didn't have anything to say about it. Not sure why. All I know is that it didn't move me at the time. And to be honest, it still doesn't. But that doesn't mean it's not a great fragrance. It just doesn't match my personality. I am not into spice and warmth as much as other people might be. I'm a Capricorn to the fullest and I enjoy cold, green, aromatic and incense types of fragrances. Or very fresh or citrus. Sweet is not my favorite and spice is not my favorite. But I can appreciate them and sometimes I find one that I enjoy enough to purchase. Tenore has that beautiful Italian quality that I love. It's very elegant and I say a little subdued? That fits the profile. Superb tenors know how to use their instrument with perfection and precision. That same precision and perfection is happening here. And that is the greatest thing about Italian perfumery in my opinion. They are craftsman; they know exactly how to create a specific feeling or emotion through their work and their art. They are proud of their culture and they exemplify that for example through their titles of their fragrances. The opera is something magical and something to be very proud of. I find the inspiration behind Tenore very fitting. There has been a great amount of editing down to the fragrance to make sure there is balance but also to create tension. You can sense there is power behind the notes, but it has been executed properly and again with precision. This is a reflection of what it is supposed to represent. A great tenor in a great opera. I will close with this as I think some of you will understand. Frank Sinatra would enjoy it Front row in Los Angeles.

This is indeed similar in smell to Jubilation, just without the sweet honey and fruity notes. Rather than being a chypre, this is a warm and rather cozy, woody-spicy scent. The resins keep things from coming off too dry and woody as I'm picking up some myrrh here. The clove, woods, and patchouli come together to make a dark scent accord reminiscent of cacao. If you want something in Jubilation's vein but more dark and not as sweet, then Tenore is an option to look at. This is a solid scent for fall/winter time.

Underrated as hell. Ngl, I bought this by accident confusing it for Vibrato (first time Sospiro owner who apparently cannot read correctly), and I am super glad this accident happened. Surprised this is rated this low tbh. Awesome cold weather fall/Winter frag for those that would like to add a loud, masculine woody-based fragrance to their collection. This one is unique to what I already have. Big fan!

Sospiro is one of my favorite houses. I have almost every bottle (I don't love all of them). That said, Tenor is a gem of a fragrance. Dark, very woody, incense, patchouli, the musk is a little bit pissy, but that moves over to the leather and amber notes. This Frag is definitely not for people afraid to walk in the woods after the sun goes down.

#730 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a sample sprayette. I like this scent. It has some commonality with the more complex Amouage Jubilation XXV, which I also really enjoy, and is priced roughly the same. But other than that, nothing really similar comes to mind. This comes off a little bit spicier so I slightly prefer it to the Jubilation XXV, but not by lot, and which I would choose would probably depend on the discount at checkout. There aren't that many scents out there where a clove note works for me, but it does here because it's noticeable but not dominant. The only negative thing I would say is it's character is "nice." It is so dead center unisex and tame that I don't think it will make much of an impression, but I'm heading out now, so we'll see if anyone notices. Car pool, elevator, office, formal, date night. This won't offend or overwhelm anyone in any setting. No one will dislike it. But at this price you should get a sample first. I like it, but owning a full bottle, as I already have Jubilation, isn't a top ten on my priority list. But probably a top 100.

With this one I made a point of smelling it totally blind(2ml sample). Off of the cap itself I recognised some myrrh with nice sweetness ala CH Golden Myrrh. Sprayed it and initially I got a blast of synthetic oud, pleasant at that, then for a min or two- dusty cocoa-patchouli and later on the perfume grew stronger in resemblance to Oud for Greatness ie. dry spicy(saffron?) and with cedar woodiness (wooden cupboard smell) coupled with the distinctive cedramber note, present in erba pura, albeit much less obnoxious. Sillage is pretty strong, longevity is solid. Overall, a nice woody spicy amber fragrance, not that creative but much more bearable than Initio’s offering or other sospiro/xerjoff offerings sharing some of the materials.

The tenore's voice is clean, crystal clear, high-toned and often very extended... in short, he is very often the main character in the opera. Following the technique and bringing it to a level of absolute perfection, with constant training: Tenor speaks precisely of the very strong personality behind these artists. A fragrance that opens with very spicy, leathery and resinous notes, a truly important fragrance with great depth of soul, worn by those who really have a lot of it. I consider it extreme, perhaps the most artistic creation of Sospiro, very very artful. Try it, it is really introspective and incredibly maintains its absolute elegance. Very good performance, excellent for the cooler seasons.

As a violinist, this def smells like a freshly rosined bow or rosin powder. I personally pair this with not so sharp fruity colognes like god of fire by stéphane humbert lucas bc i feel this by itself is shouting too much. People say that they get dizzy from this cologne and i totally get why.

Straight lacquer booze and wood. Love it.

As someone who really loves Jubilation 25, I found this fragrance somewhat close to it. However, the slightly sweet, fruity vibe in Jubilation is completely absent here. Instead, it has a much drier, dusty, spicy character, which makes it quite tiring on the nose — though its performance is good.

I got the by accident when I ordered a different decant. It’s really interesting I get a lot of lavender spice notes leather and musk. It’s intriguing and hard to place not my favorite or that well liked maybe 6.5/10

This one is kind of all over the place. I’d just get jubilation. I appreciate the execution though, it’s too chaotic for me. Update... I went to compare this to both iterations of Jubilation, and those 1st gen, and 40 are lighter and have more patchouli. The main player is the Amber. I gotta say that the play on the notes is quite interesting considering all 3 fragrances. I believe Tenore to be the most masculine and I’m definitely warming up to it now to where I like it more than Jubilation. The lavender give it some air to elevate the woods and spices, for Jubilation the blackberry note is a placebo in my opinion which only serves as the sweetness to balance out the patchouli. I was wrong, Sospiro has done it again here.

Some similarity to Amouage Jubilation XXV. Jubilation is an orchestra of notes while Tenore is an ensemble. Still worth wearing.
