Autumn's Embrace

There is something so organically cozy about this scent. I adore it, reminds me a little of Aesop Hwyl. Something dirty and rooty in there, guess it’s the leaves. I find the sillage extremely subtle or anyway it seems to dry down to a skin scent very quickly, but it’s intriguing enough that I want to keep sniffing myself. The husband probably wouldn’t like it, wouldn’t understand it — but there’s a little cabin in my heart that wants me to smell like this all the time.

Testing a 1.5ml sample my friend brought me back from China. This is really nice & I definitely want to add this to my collection. Opens with a blast of dry cedarwood & Myrhh & quickly settles down to a lovely creamy Sandalwood. No hint of pickles here, the Sandalwood is cozy & creamy.

Affordable gem. Very much similar to discontinued Nature Millenaire by Yves Rocher. True unisex, while Nature Millenaire leans more feminine, in my opinion.

This isn’t autumn. This isn’t cozy. This isn’t nature. Autumn’s Embrace opens with a woody note that’s supposed to be cedar, but instead of smelling like pencil shavings or dry wood, it turns into that synthetic cedar aromachemical that goes oily, plasticky, and slightly chemical. It’s the same family as those cheap cedarwood molecules that brands use when they want “wood” but don’t want to pay for real materials. There’s no warmth, no resin, no spice, no leaf crunch. Just that flat, oily, artificial cedar sitting on top of a thin woody‐base.
