Nowhere Fast

Smells like matches, dark, coal like or what you expect near an active volcano. I appreciate the uniqueness and best worn casually, ie not an office or date scent.

Enigmatic, moody and very interesting scent designed to evoke burned matches. It does, and with amazing creativity, fleshes out the experience. I like smokey scents, and this one has a cool vibe that acts as a catalyst for my own images without being overpowering. I had visions of being in a stone space, steeped with the smell of past candlelight. Probably from the oakmoss and patchouli in the background accord. With a little bit of a sulfurous edge. A pleasant, kind of eerie, mysterious aroma that lasted ages. SP accomplished several goals. Not only recreating the expired matches, but imbuing the scent with a sensation of the passage of time. It comes from the spark/fire being in the past, not knowing how long ago. The name comes from a song in the '84 movie "Streets of Fire", kind of an energetic rock and roll anthem, part of the existential symbolism combined in this scent. For me, it smelled a little bit more medieval, having a timeless quality from a connection to the elements. Sillage and longevity both good.

It does exactly what it's supposed to: a faithful copy of a match being lit that lingers just long enough to give this perfume its uniqueness. I would assume that such a note that usually disappears quickly was not easy to capture and formulate. The scent is less musky than and longevity (understandably) is below that of another SP offering and more in line with the comparative lightness of the collaborations with Miguel. There is some hint of citrus (coming from the aldehydes?) which keeps it much more optimistic than the rest of the notes would suggest. Good job.
