Powder & Dust

Just got my hands on a sample of the Zoologist version of this. I never smelled the original, so not sure if there was any reformulation. Even if there was, the points brought up in the other reviews still hold. There is a weird (and yes, somewhat unpleasant) note in the opening. I've never smelled anything like this note before, so I can't identify it. It doesn't resemble any of the listed notes. It was kind of off-putting the first time I tried it, but I'm oddly fascinated by it on the second testing. Zoologist lists patchouli as a base note here. My skin usually turns patchouli into a sharp, twangy, b.o./armpit odor if there's too much of it. Luckily, that doesn't happen with this one. The dry down morphs into a crystal clear mimosa on me. Everything else falls away by the 2-3 hour mark. I'm still getting my nose acquainted with this one, but I am sensing I'll become obsessed with the uniqueness of it and will end up springing for a full bottle once it's released.

I got a sample of this truly unique and delicious fragrance after hearing about Pink Patchouli (from Tommelise on Youtube) and this really is the "WOW" factor perfume. I love perfumes that don't smell like every other perfume on the market. This one is sexy...simple....mysterious...JUICY from the fruity notes and mimosa - LOVE LOVE LOVE. Good job Yana! This is the perfect Tinkerbell fragrance. Absolutely completely perfect you smell the pear mixed with that very sparkling champagne mixed with the fluttering wings that create the Dust. I am devastated that all I have is a travel spray. I need this to come back. I'm thinking about buying the zoologist one but zoologist has strange masks that lead bird cagey.

Extremely unique. Honestly, it is very off putting for the first hour. At first, it reminded me of cough lozenges. It comes across as very medicinal and when my husband smelled it after it was on my skin for 10 minutes, he said it smelled like bug spray. I think he hit the nail on the head with that description. However, this fragrance constantly evolves and at the 2nd hour it smells like powdery, candied fruit on my skin. Beautiful, but if you are not willing to deal with the harsh opening, this fragrance is not for you. I think this defines the artistic side of niche perfumery quite well.
