Laughter

Laughter is a wonderful fragrance I came across last year in London @ Space NK. It's wonderful aroma lingered all day on my skin which is unusual for me and perfume. It's hard to say which notes I loved best, the fresh citrus of the top notes, the more herbal mid notes or the musky patchouli base notes. Wonderful. Now all I have to do is find out how to buy some from New Zealand now I'm home.

This is nice but it's just too masculine for me. My boyfriend sometimes borrows it and it smells better on him than me. It is very citrusy and VERY herbal! I think I will use this either on holiday or on really baking hot summer days as it is so refreshing. But for the rest of the year it's not really for me.

Laughter opens with a very brassy white musk and rosemary accord. It fades after about 20 minutes, but for those 20 minutes I found the scent to be uncomfortably similar to a dimestore cologne. The heart is nicely herbal, with a bright citrus edge. I would have liked more angelica to sweeten this a bit. The dry down is quite nice, but also a very faint skin scent. Overall, Laughter has a really fresh green vibe. It's easily unisex, and because of the emphasis on juniper and rosemary, probably lacks some of the sweetness most of us are accustomed to finding in scents marketed towards women. I do like this, and it makes a nice change from chypres, aldehydes and florals. However, I will be adding a little vanilla essential oil to it to sweeten the scent and bring it more into my comfort range.

Well, its not that joyful - from the notes I was expecting something a bit more zingy! This is like a slightly old-fashioned male cologne. Its much more herby than citrus.I can sort of imagine this on my dad and he was a dedicated Old Spice fan! I do feel it's too masculine for me. I shall hand this over to my husband and maybe it will make him laugh...in a good way.

Fresh and spicy - perfect for a hot summer's day. Citrus and ginger predominate, with a herbal backdrop. I wouldn't class this as masculine, there's an elegance and sweetness that give it an aloof feminine edge.
