Creme De Pistache

Gorgeous stuff deserves a higher rating! A gourmand lovers wet dream! I let mine macerate for 6 months and it slaps soooo hard now.. it’s wayy stronger and more complex. It’s moreso an almond frag but a super realistic freshly roasted almond. Not like the synthetic marzipan type versions or synth cherry. Although this does have cherry listed I don’t defect it. It’s pretty linear sweet almond/pistashio blended with vanilla icecream lactonic accord. I definitely get the rice blending with the almond too. Almost smells like rice crispy treats. Wonderful stuff and glad to own a bottle so I can enjoy this for years to come. I’d say this is unisex leaning more fem. I don’t wear it out, only around the house for me and my gf. Before maceration 6.5/10 after maceration 8/10. Well done Sphinx! 👏

I like this one. I don't get candle vibes. Yes its sweet but doesn't go so far. Unfortunately not so much of pistachio but definitely better than Kayali. The scent is creamy and gourmand at at the opening but after a while transforms more into perfume and goes on fruity - citrus direction with a little bit of creaminess . In general I like it but longevity is moderate and have to refresh during the day.

Reviewing from a sample that came with an order I received. It’s just gorgeous. Pistachio, rice and rum are the most present notes for me. Just the right balance of all the notes, very well blended and not overly sweet or thick. Seems very unisex, right down the middle. I cannot wait to order this once it’s released! (Does anyone know when?) I’m excited to try it once the weather starts cooling down.

@Clovis4220 it’s out now. My bottle arrived today and this is stunning! Rice, milk, cinnamon and the Icecream are the most prevalent notes on me. Super creamy and dreamy! Mid dry down I get the fruity notes and rum. Musk isn’t too noticeable but it’s probably what is aiding the creaminess. Overall fantastic! And I can say it smells nothing like the Kayali yum pistachio.

I’m really surprised this isn’t more popular on social media. This is everything I wished Pistachio Yum Gelato to be. There is a heavy cinnamon note but I don’t think it sticks around for very long and the dry down is more lactonic and smooth.

Just received my frag today and it’s absolutely beautiful. Different from any I’ve tried. Milky sweetness as weird as that may sound but I like it. It seems to stay pretty long on my skin so I’m very pleased. Thumbs up 👍

Best pistachio scent I have smelled. Gourmand and sweet, but also has that nutty salty side, very very much like pistachio nuts with creamy ice cream. 🍦 Highly recommend.

So so good. A warm, deep pistachio with a sweetness that supports it rather than overtaking it. Fantastically creamy and smooth. One of my new favorites.

I didn't like this when I first tried it three years ago. However, I just found it sitting in my closet and decided to give it another try. I don't know if the fragrance macerated or if my tastes changed, but I now find this fragrance quite beautiful. It's rich, woody, sweet, and a bit dusty. It reminds me of an autumn candle that has been lit for too long and is emanating a gentle wisp of smoke. Warm, cozy, and unisex. While Creme de Pistache is a bit richer, woodier, and nuttier than fragrances I usually go for, I do think I may reach for it later in the year when the weather gets cold. It might be nice to wear while cozied up reading a book or carving a pumpkin for Halloween.

This is much closer to what I hoped Pistachio Yum Gelato would be. It's a creamy, cinnamon-y milky ice cream pistachio. My only complaint is it seems to sit closer to the skin after dry down, but I think I still want a full bottle.

Let’s see how this creamy, pistachio-driven composition unfolds once it meets the skin. Opening: The opening is sweet, nutty, and lactonic. The primary notes I get are pistachio, vanilla, almond, and whipped cream, with the pistachio and vanilla leading. True to the name, the pistachio is the first to come through, presenting as a sweet, slightly buttery nuttiness that leans more toward pistachio flavoring than raw pistachios, reminiscent of the kind used in ice creams, puddings, and pastries. The vanilla follows closely, adding a smooth, creamy sweetness that deepens the gourmand character. Beneath that, the almond reinforces the sweet and nutty profile with an added touch of powdery softness, giving the composition a bit more texture. Lastly, the whipped cream wraps everything together with an airy, milky lightness that softens the density and enhances the dessert-like quality. There are also subtle contributions from the ice cream accord, adding an extra layer of smooth, creamy sweetness that blends seamlessly into the composition. Dry Down: The dry down is sweet, lactonic, and nutty. The primary notes I get are vanilla, milk, almond, and rice, with the vanilla and milk leading. At this stage, the vanilla becomes overwhelmingly dominant, delivering a rich, creamy sweetness that anchors the entire composition. The milk rises alongside it, adding a more tangible lactonic quality that makes the fragrance feel softer, rounder, and more cohesive. Beneath that, the almond continues to provide a gentle, sweet nuttiness with a subtle powdery edge, maintaining a connection to the opening while shifting in tone. Finally, the rice note emerges as a defining element, introducing a soft, starchy, and mildly sweet character that blends seamlessly with the vanilla and milk to form a distinct "rice pudding" accord. There is also a delicate warmth from the cinnamon, adding a faint, powdery spice that enhances the comfort of the composition and pushes it closer to something reminiscent of arroz con leche or horchata; an interesting choice considering the house already has a fragrance called Horchata de Vanille. Notably, the pistachio that defined the opening has fully disappeared, marking a clear transition in identity. The result is a dry down that remains deeply gourmand, but with a massively different flavor than the opening. Performance: The initial projection within the first hour is powerful and easily fills a room. Sillage follows closely behind, leaving a dense and heavy scent trail that lingers in the air. After about three to four hours, the performance remains largely unchanged, still projecting with strong presence and maintaining that thick trail. Around the eight hour mark, the scent trail is still impressively full, showing very little drop off in density, while the projection has only slightly drawn in but still reaches several feet with ease. When to Wear: Crème de Pistache feels most at home in the cooler months, where its dense, creamy sweetness can fully settle into the air without becoming overwhelming. It naturally leans toward evening wear, where its richness can complement more intimate or relaxed settings. It shines in moments where comfort and indulgence are the goal, whether that’s a night out or simply unwinding at home. That said, its distinctly edible quality makes it difficult to justify in more restrained environments, and it doesn’t quite align with the expectations of formal settings or professional spaces. Blind Buy: Crème de Pistache is not a safe blind buy. The pistachio note, which sets the expectation, is largely confined to the opening and fades out entirely as the fragrance develops. From there, it transitions into a very milky, lactonic profile that becomes the defining characteristic of the dry down, and that texture can be divisive. On top of that, this is a true gourmand through and through, with no attempt to pull away from its edible nature. For those who enjoy rich, dessert-like fragrances it may appeal, but for many, sampling first will be essential. Final Verdict: Crème de Pistache opens on a high note, offering a pistachio-forward gourmand profile that feels both playful and distinctive. There’s something genuinely appealing about that initial impression, especially in how it leans into a dessert-inspired identity without feeling immediately redundant. However, as the fragrance develops, it shifts away from what made it interesting in the first place. The dry down becomes increasingly dominated by a dense, milky sweetness that feels heavy and, at times, overwhelming on my skin. While the performance is undeniably impressive, longevity and projection only carry weight if the scent remains enjoyable throughout its lifespan. In this case, the evolution works against it. Despite a promising start, it loses its appeal as it settles, and for that reason, it’s not something I see myself adding to my collection. Okay so I purchased a tiny decant off Etsy and loved this one. It was very sweet, nutty, and gourmand. Definitely pistachio cookie-esque (and I get the reference to a candle scent). It was delicious but definitely best for colder months. Then I bought a little sample set off of Sphinx because I wanted to try others and knew I liked this one already and wanted a little more juice to test out. The fragrance that came is HORRIBLE. A complete scrubber. It's harsh, sharp, and invasive. Not to mention the longevity is beastly. I don't know if they changed formulations or ingredients or what but it is nothing like the scent I smelled originally. The customer service for the brand is excellent but many of the other scents I tried also have this harshness to them. I think it might be the musk they use.

I am a gourmand lover and this perfume is beautiful when i first spray it and probably the first hour to 2 hours it smells amazing and then it turns a little weird , i dont know if its the milk note ,with cinamon or maybe the milk with the wipped cream but it turns sour almost like a lingering body oder in the background when yiu smell it upclose on skin , on clothes it didnt change bad on my skin it smelled like i hadnt showered and sprayed a beautiful creamy pistachio scent ontop of my bo pits . Its faint but its there and i hate it , i tried it when i first got it and thought maybe it was travel shock waited about a month amd tried it again and yep ,bo. So now i have to jump in the shower again because i smell like bo when i showered and stayed in the ac all day

This is not a dupe by yum pistagio gelato by kayali. Not even close. If you want a dupe for that. Buy pista sundae of fragrance world. This is like gingerbread with ALOT of nuts. To me this is more like macademia nuts than almond and pistage. This is not sweet or like a gourmand, this is nut heavy and really smells like gingerbread with alot of cinnamon. No rum, no ice cream, no Vanilla., nothing, its cinnamon and nuts. But if you like that. Then this is for you.

Very unique, sweet and strong! Opens very Pistachio and cream forward then dries down to this super sweet boozy cinnamon bomb. "Candle vibes" is spot on! Not everyone will be able to pull this one off.. It gets points for uniqueness and potency, but its not something I'd reach for frequently. 6/10

I agree with the other reviews, on me this is a savory nutty fragrance, not unpleasant but not what I was expecting. As I continue to try this, I'm sure it will grow on me now that I know what to expect. This is the mature version of Kayali Pistachio Gelato or Fine'ry Pistachio Please

Too cinnamon-ey fall candle ish. It’s nice but for it to be a love, you’ll really have to like cinnamon. I don’t get much of the, ice cream/milk.

Fan of Lattafa Teriaq or Aquolina Pink Sugar? Then this one is for you. I wanted to love this...Creme de Pistache was highly coveted by Olivia Olfactory (whom I adore the tastes of). Now I understand why this is so polarising.... Creme de Pistache has delicious, warm, nutty, realistic pistachio and almond notes, straight from the opening. Best part of the perfume. However the fragrance gradually morphs into a smoother, powdery, way less screechy 'Aquolina Pink Sugar' without losing the nutty notes. I am not kidding... Creme de Pistache instantly triggered olfactory memories of that perfume for me. And I've used and owned 4 versions of it in the past. 'Reminds me of' section is immensely misleading...There are votes for 'Louis Cardin Sacred', which is essentially a variant of Pink Sugar as well, that is the most accurate to this. Slightly disappointed, Creme de Pistache can easily be a Pink Sugar flanker. Purchase at your own risk.

No wonder it is such a polarizing scent. After reading the reviews on best gourmand scents I ordered the whole Sphinx discovery set only because I was so curious to smell Creme De Pistache. And even though I am gourmand lover this perfume is an epitome of a cloying perfume. It is just a lot and too much and it lacks finesse. I`m sad to say that yes it smells like a buttery autumn scented candle (something that was mentioned so many times in the reviews below).

I blind bought this one as I am in EU and its sold in US. I am gourmand lover (more edible better for me). Unfortunately, I cannot detect any cream or pistachio on me. I smell only musk, its sooo strong!! I swear that my skin does not pull any other note from this perfume. I really wanted to like this one but noo😭😭😭and I spent 150€!!! (Incl taxes) for this failed blind buy. Never again. Anyone who wants to buy full bottle, please DM me. I am located in EU.

I had to sell this. I LOVE a sweet perfume. I love a perfume to last all day. But this. This was too much for me. Something about this fragrance smelled far too much like an autumn candle for me to want to wear this. This plus the fact that it was far too strong for me to feel comfortable to wear it indoors. The notes seem like it would be perfect. I desperately want a deep pistachio fragrance for the fall/winter, but this was just not the one for me.

As a warning, I'm not really a gourmand fan. Tested Creme di Pistache from a sample received from Sphinx fragrances. Fragrance opens on the sweeter side with a distinct pistachio note. As it dried down, sweetness retreats a bit but the scent becomes more synthetic. I sometimes got whiffs of a hair spray scent. To me, it's a definite feminine fragrance. Performance seems to be average all away around. Hard pass for me.

Super disappointed. I had heard this was better than Kayali's but no... first spray was bold and intriguing, but as it is drying down... yup I am on Team Lousy Candle. No creme and no pistache. Disappointed to hear that the formula changed over time as well so maybe I missed out on the good one. Hoping to find a hit in the Sphinx discovery set but so far not so good.

Super disappointing. Neither me, my sister or my husband got any pistachio or even almond. It smells identical to Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel. Waxy, synthetic vanilla, and a lot of musk.

Wow that’s ugly. This is my first ever perfume hate. There is no discernible pistachio it’s harsh chemical smell and someone else mentioned even if you like harsh chemicals it’s super masculine. Hard no glad I got a travel size bit don’t see using it up. Terrible customer service too.

I'm not generally a fan of super sweet fragrances, so perhaps I'm missing something necessary to enjoy this....but it smells like a terrible off-brand candle, and is NUCLEAR. I will need to remove it from my house with a pair of those HomerSimpson-radioactive-material-tongs.

A really, really sweet mess. It reminds me of one of those air freshener gels you'd buy for your car at a Lazer Wash. To my nose it smells like a dense wall of sickly sweet milky amber with a heaping helping of random baking spices. Instant scrubber.

Superlet down. Had high hopes. Smells norhing like pistachios... and this is supermasculine! Simply a male smell!!

This smells strongly of citrus - lemon/lime - and I can also feel the creaminess and the pistachio in there too, but it is such an odd combination that it took me aback. This is not straight-up ice cream pistachio. Oh noo it isn't. I have many pistachio fragrances at this point and this and DS & Durga are probably the most unique-smelling IMO... this is strong perfume, comes off as a citrus freshie with an underbelly of creamy (sweet whipped cream) pistachios. It doesn't smell natural and I am ok with that. Some people describe to smell like a "candle" and that doesn't bother me either. I enjoy more natural and synthetic smelling gourmands. But this is like a creamy lemon/lime soda (not too fizzy tho!) with some pistachio. Very different. More of a spring/summer-time version of a "creamy pistachio fragrance" than I would have guessed. When I put away my preconceived notions on what I thought I was getting, and get used to what this actually is - I can enjoy it for what it is. I see more men being able to enjoy this ESPECIALLY if they love citrus fragrances and gourmands! And I see more women enjoying this if they are into niche fragrances and appreciate when something is a little different, and can forgive something that isn't completely natural smelling. To me - many fragrances these days smell synthetic! And it's not like this smells like chemicals to me or anything (it isn't that bad on the synthetic scale). But if you are looking to buy this and thinking you wanted something different than the Kayali Yum Pistachio, maybe it was too floral... and thought this could be it. It probably won't be. I suggest checking out DUA's Pistachio Cream Delight (ice creamy pistachio) or Pistachio Gelato (not a dupe for Kayali's, but smells like butterscotch+creamy pistachio)...I also love their Be In Love With Pistachio Gelato which gives a more feminine & fragrant twist to their pistachio DNA. And then find a decant of this Sphinx one before buying full-size.

I have 3 versions of this fragrance (all directly from the brand website) and they all smell very different from each other . 1st formulation: very nutty, super strong, creamy, sweet and slightly salty. It is THE pitachios IMO. Very very good. I think this is the formulation that makes this fragrance so famous and loved by many people. . Newest formulation (?): purchased earlier this year: Smell very different from the first formulation. Soft, opens smelling like strawberry with cinamon water and dries down to this sweet, milky, waffle smell. Very faint pitachios smell. This fit right in with the current gourmand trend but lacks the uniqueness of the 1st formulation. This one has very clear transition from top to base because the topnotes smell very difference from the basenotes while the other 2 formulations have very similar top/middle/basenotes so the transition is quite smooth and not so obvious. . Replaced formulation (sent to me as a replacemence when I complain about the my bottle of the newest formulation): Smell thicker than the newest formulation, creamier and milkier without the cinamon. There's a faint pitachios of the 1st formulation in the back. It's not a bad gourmand scent but nowhere near as good and unique as the 1st formulation. The pitachio is barely there. All versions are macerated for more than half a year now and they still smell the same. Nothing change. This fragrance just launched in 2023 and the formulation has been messed up like that is suprising. I'm not sure what's going on with them and why they do this to their most famous fragrance. So be careful when you sample and purchase this one. The full bottle you get might be completely different from what you sample.

No candle vibes here. I find this to be mouth wateringly beautiful. A gourmand bomb primarily composed of a super thick, dry, salty and nutty pistachio, mixed with freshly cooked rice, milky whipped cream, cinammon, and ice cream. I don't consider ice cream to be a note but rather what you imagine. Like . . When you smell the notes and start putting them together you say oh, ice cream. Delicious dessert like rum when it dries down. That complimented with the muskiest of white musks. I honestly don't see the fruit and cherry angle. But there is lemon present. A gooey, jammy, sharp lemon. Fragrance is pretty strong in the opening and is a projection monster for the first 3 to 4 hours. I get a solid 9 hours out of this.

I sprayed this fragrance on, expecting a sweet blast. I've gotten the total opposite. Before reading the notes, I wanted to see what I could smell, without being influenced by the notes. It's been a few hours, and all I get is, what smells like a bowl of hot steaming rice, with a slight nutty tinge, and some undefined zing at the back.... perhaps a teenzy drop of rum? It's coming off very savoury on me, with not even a sliver of sweetness. Definitely the most different perfume I've ever tried. Will try it a few more times, just to see if I can pick up different notes.

I don't really get candle vibes from this, but I can understand the association. I think a lot of people just associate thick, sweet, spicy scents with candle shops or craft stores in the Fall. I honestly don't get much pistachio. Beautiful fragrance if you're into spicy gourmands, but just keep in mind that it doesn't have that perfumey smell that we typically think of when we heard the word "perfume."

I'm not a gourmand lover so you may want to take this with a pinch of salt but this smelled like a pistachio cake filled with hand soap to me, it was putrid. There was an overwhelming sweetness that was soured by a soap smell, but not good soap, it smelled like how soap tastes rather than how it smells. Definitely sample this before buying because it's not an edible or enjoyable sweet smell at all imo

I have 2 bottles. One from the first batch before it was sold out and another purchased a few weeks ago. The Initial batch is all sweetness, ice cream pistachio. The most recent one opens with a strong citrusy burst and cinnamon whereas the initial one didn't have any detectable cinnamon or citrus. They are different and have both been sitting for a while in the same spot.

Not my cup of tea. Can’t smell any pistachio,ice cream,cherry or anything I was hoping for ... Interesting scent,cinamony and later to spicy and...green? I have no idea what’s green in there but not to keen. Don’t get me wrong-quality is there and they last forever! Must try. It’s just not for me unfortunately

It’s not bad , it’s just not for me I think . It’s a real pistachio fragrance but the cinnamon in it is pretty strong & gives off a fall candle vibe in the opening . I don’t get as much of the ice cream /vanilla that I was hoping to get. My husband likes it but I think I’m just not a pistachio lover .

I think this fragrance is the epitome of a release that is capitalizing on the most popular note of the season, without delivering anything remotely palpable. This is God awful. I let it macerate for a year, and it still smells like a suffocating bathroom cleaner.

Blind bought. It smells very similar to Milano Fragranze Panettone, but with added pistachios. Very long lasting with great projection. Very strong citrus-caramel base. I was expecting it to be nuttier but nevertheless the perfume is wonderful

Disappointed in this. It is cloying and nutty but kind of harsh too. I was hoping for smooth and creamy pistachio which this is not. I don’t like the drydown either. Don’t love the Kayali Pistachio either but its better than this.

I got this for Christmas as a blind buy. My mistake. I want to love it but I don’t. It truly smells waxy like a candle. I also get a metallic tinge as well 😢

Smells like a pistachio infused Erba Pura. I like it but I can see how this can be screechy to some. Great longevity and projection
