KoKonut Daiquiri

Glad to review this fragrance! It is magic in a bottle. Bright, sparkling tropical drink vibe as you would expect from the name. That coconut is not suntan lotion vibe at all. It is like a fresh coconut cut in half on the table with some sweet tropical lime squeezed in. This one smells so fresh and sweet the ladies at my work and gym love it and have asked me for the link to buy it for their man or themselves. My lady adores this on me just smiles when I come out of the room with this on. There will be haters because of the Youtube connection but get over it! For the price you are getting a fantastic scent that just makes me happy when I wear it. You put the lime in the coconut and drink em both up!

On my first wearing. Tropical opening like pacific chill,LV, and that shampoo scent you get from Greenly, very good . Loud yet pleasant, a bit artificial but in a good way. I think this would be a compliment magnet . Can't wait to wear it tomorrow In the heat. Enjoy the amber sugar and coconut In the drydown. .

This is a great fragrance opens up with a very nice lime followed by coconut and light sugar sprinkles with a boozy facet in the heart with beautiful florals the hibiscus is there and the ambergris in the dry down is nice 8/10 worth every penny !

Today, we're taking a trip to the tropics and reviewing KoKonut Daiquiri by Sphinx Fragrances. I have some mixed feelings heading into this one, because I feel it's going to be either entirely masculine or entirely feminine, and I have a feeling it's going to lean toward the feminine direction. However, I have been wrong plenty of times before, and I'm hoping that's the case here. Let's get into it and see what we got. Scent: The opening is citrusy, sweet, and boozy. The primary notes I get are lime, coconut, rum, and sugar. The strongest of the notes are the lime and coconut. The lime hits my nose first with a tart and zingy citrus accord. It is a very natural-smelling lime note, and reminds me of a splash of lime used in drinks or cooking. Following closely behind is the coconut; sweet, tropical, and slightly milky. Up next is the rum and sugar. The rum imbues the opening with a warm, rich, boozy element that pairs perfectly with the coconut and lime to create the olfactory sensation of a tropical mixed drink. Lastly, the sugar acts as an accoutrement to dial up the sweetness a bit; like rimming the glass of the aforementioned tropical drink with a line of white sugar. I also get just a touch of musk for some added freshness. After spraying this fragrance, I was immediately reminded of Creed's Virgin Island Water; it carries the exact same tropical drink accord, most likely due to the fact that it shares those same four primary notes with KoKonut Daiquiri. The dry down is still sweet, boozy, and ambery. The primary notes I get are vanilla, rum, amber, and coconut. The strongest of the notes are the vanilla and coconut. The vanilla has become the star of the show in the dry down with a thick and creamy vanillic sweetness. This pairs with the coconut with its lactonic and tropical accord to create a milky and sweet tone. This is followed by the rum and amber. The rum still has the same sweet and boozy accord from the opening, but it is joined by the amber, adding a warm and rich depth to the base of the fragrance. The lime is still there as well to an extent, noticeable in the background, but it has taken a step back to let the sweetness be the overarching theme. The sugar is also still present, but it's hard to distinguish it from the sweetness of the vanilla, amber, or rum. Lastly, there's a bit of musk left over from the opening, giving it that same accompanying "clean laundry" freshness. Interestingly, all the base notes are present in some form or fashion. Whereas the opening was spot on with Virgin Island Water, the dry down went in a different, almost gourmand direction. Performance: Initial projection is very strong and can fill a room. Sillage matches that intensity with a bright and invigorating scent trail. After about 3-4 hours the projection was still at least 6 feet and the scent trail was still easily noticeable. At around the 7-8 hour mark the projection was about 3-4 feet and the scent trail was lighter but still noticeable. The fragrance became a skin scent around the 9-10 hour mark. When to wear: KoKonut Daiquiri, as the name suggests, is a spring/summer fragrance best suited for daytime or evening wear. This is a very casual wearing fragrance, and would work well with shorts and a t-shirt or anything out in the sun, but would work equally well on a summer night, thanks to the sweet but fresh dry down. However, this would not be my pick for a special or formal occasion, and I would not wear it to the office either. Blind buy: If you like Virgin Island Water, but you're okay with a sweet twist, this is a safe blind buy for you. Don't expect an outright clone of Virgin Island Water, though. The opening is almost a 1:1, but the dry down is very different. Final verdict: When I first sprayed on KoKonut Daiquiri, my first thought was "Hm, this smells like Virgin Island Water.". Then, after reading the note breakdown, I thought "Oh, this is a clone of VIW.". In the opening, that's an accurate assessment. However, the dry down was a completely different fragrance, so I can't say this fragrance is altogether a VIW clone. I was also wrong about my assumption on whether this fragrance is masculine or feminine. I'd say KoKonut Daiquiri, much to my surprise, walks that unisex line pretty straight. When it comes to performance, this fragrance projected heavily and left nice scent trails for at least the first few hours, and didn't become a skin scent until the 9-10 hour mark. This is much better than the performance I got from VIW, just saying. Respectable for a fresh fragrance, but I'm chalking it up to the heavy notes in the base. Versatility is never the name of the game for these types of fragrances. They work well for casual wear during the warmer months, but that's about it. Mass appeal, however, is high for KoKonut Daiquiri. I can't imagine most people would dislike a scent that reminds them of a tropical drink, and the heavy vanilla in the dry down is a sure win. In conclusion, while I wouldn't recommend this as an alternative for VIW, I think it's a great fragrance that takes a popular high-end niche DNA and adds a surprising but pleasant twist. Since I don't currently have anything like this in my collection, this is one I might consider grabbing a bottle of. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 7/10 Sillage: 8/10

This perfume has no business having coconut in the title. It is a citrus bomb. Bright, sparkling, sweet citrus hits hard right out of the gate. The florals hide in the background (where they belong in my opinion). The amber and musk are present but not the star of the show. It mellows out to a citrus and fruity candy scent.

Very sweet! & Very strong! Opens with sweet lime, dries to a sugary vanilla coconut. Very tropical/Summer time scent profile. If you're looking for something to rock at the beach/pool that won't wash away or fade easily this is it. 7/10

This is Erba Pura with more natural smelling notes, it still has that screechy-ness (IMO) but it’s overall a good fragrance.

I get fizzy lime and coconut in a very unimaginative way. Smells incredibly linear for a fragrance that claims so many notes. Smells like a dupe that was meant to emulate something better and this is cheaper. As a female, this isn’t something I want to smell like. If I smelt this on a man I wouldn’t recoil, but I also wouldn’t swoon. I’d just think meh that’s an ok scent and you are probably a bit dull.

Eh idk. This smells exactly like erba pura with a lot of coconut. It smells different enough to own both but redundant at the same time I know that makes no sense but if you want something that’s less synthetic with added tropical-ness then get this

This smelled really yummy on paper and I don’t usually like perfumes based on alcohol drinks. When I wore it, it went a lot more balmy than I was anticipating. I’m not usually a fan of coconut but on paper I thought the fruits all equally carried their weight. The dynamic changed more during my wear and the coconut definitely was front and center, with a tropical accord accompanying in the background. All in all, I think you have to be into coconut scents to like this. I prefer my coconut fragrances a lot more lactonic. I think Commodity’s Iced also does a better job at the fruity alcoholic beverage profile. Definitely try before you buy this one.

I absolutely loved the opening. Lime, sugar, and fresh coconut goodness. After 10 minutes, it dried down to an unbearable extremely musky mixed fruit smell, think erba pura. The dry down could be erba pura's cousin.

This is a male perfume. Not for women at all.. unless you want to smell like a man. Had no coconut scent what do ever. Smells like lime and wood. Not my cup of tea..

This one is in collaboration with fragrance youtuber Aromatix, scent profile is lovely but nothing new. As he put it " its a vacation in a bottle " and yes it is. However if you own similar coco, sweet, sugary vibe frag in your collection then no point. But by it anyway so that when your previous frag finishes you will have a well macerated ready to use bottle of koko daquiri by that time. Price point is my only complain, should be around the mark of 50 as its nothing unique.

Very limey and sweet. Soft floral notes. Some coconut lingering. And yet I don't really like it. It's not bad, but I think it lacks substance. This is something that might work very well in the summer heat because it's so light and aerial, but otherwise it's a bit disappointing The lime note is very good though. 6.5/10 (I will try to update when it's much hotter)

I get mainly lime which is the dna of the scent
