Tabac Citron Vanille

Creamy vanilla sandalwood on my skin. Like a luxurious lotion. Opening is floral, but that soon fades to a clean lift in the background. I think the citruses add more brightness more than a distinct fruity note. Tabac is leafy and very subtle. It might be the hint of smoke that enters after an hour or two. Like other Sphinx fragrances, it’s beautifully blended so that no note dominates. But you need to test this one on skin as it’s awesome on skin and kinda gross on paper. Beautifully versatile and unisex almost leaning feminine based on the opening. Good for day or evening, young or old. Edit: I agree with sim0nsalas that naming this after three of the notes is misleading, especially in the open when florals are more dominant. Later it’s balanced across all the notes; not something like TF TV, which is just the two notes in the name.

Run and get this scent now! (Even if its just a sample) This is a dark citrus sandalwood blended perfectly. At the top you get a big dose of mellow and masculine citrus quickly evened out by vanilla. The tobacco is more of a sweet, wet, raw leaf rather that a dry rolled cigar..and it goes perfectly with the vanilla. As is starts to dry down you get bits of cinnamon to spice it up and this addictive cardamom to pull you in. Everything else blends in the background of the fragrance for me to give it this juicy, heavy feel. Good year round. Great for office, date night, jeans and a t-shirt, or vacation. Easy versatile that smells great.

Evamomma10 minutes ago I purchased this with a discount resulting in a purchase price of $96. For that price, the fragrance was a super duper value. I read all the reviews and watched videos to understand what folks liked or did not like about it and I am so pleased that I purchased it. To me, it is beautiful and though I may get corrected because the notes are completely different, for now, I get a more unisex Dama Bianca vibe. It is very smooth but I do not get any tobacco except for the opening. I have received a few compliments already. They also scent a sample of Lily perfume and it’s super feminine and well pretty.

When I first open a bottle of this fragrance, I'm struck by how creamy and unique the lemon note is. I received the Sphinx sample box, this and kokonut daiquiri is FIRE🔥. I am wearing Tabac Citron as I am writing this. I cannot stop smelling myself. This is a really good tobacco fragrance. I never been big on tobacco fragrances but this is the one. Can’t wait to get the full body.

Ooooh this is nice. White florals with citruses and a little tobacco in the background (it's more subtle). Very soft and gentle, cosy scent. Probably a little more on the feminine side, but really quite good. 8.5/10

A beautifully blended, versatile, extremely sexy and luxurious scent. The dry down is where this really shines and the tobacco finally comes thru. Office, date night and even signature scent worthy. 8.5/10

This is just amazing. 10/10 scent with ridiculous longevity but only with 2 feet projection. This is the sweetest pipe Tabasco scent I’ve smelt so I think this is pretty unisex

This smells the exact same as Mancera Roses Vanille. With that being said... scent is amazing, great longevity too

Today I'm taking a look at Tabac Citron Vanille from Sphinx Fragrances. So far, my experience with the house has been a positive one. Also, the naming of the fragrances so far has been pretty spot on, with the names of the fragrance accurately reflecting what they actually smell like. With that in mind, I'm expecting something warm and sweet but with some citrusy zing, most likely in the opening. Am I correct? Let's get into it and find out. Scent: The opening is sweet, citrusy, and floral. The primary notes I get are vanilla, orange blossom, Amalfi lemon, and heliotrope. The strongest of the notes are the vanilla and orange blossom. The vanilla starts the fragrance off with a solid dose of sweet and creamy vanilla. It's not super gourmand or realistic, more of a designer type of vanilla. Right behind the vanilla is the orange blossom for a kick of white florals with some sweet and citrusy undertones. Up next is the Amalfi lemon and heliotrope. The Amalfi lemon doubles down on the citrus with a bright and zingy lemon note. It's juicy and tart, like fresh lemon that you'd make lemonade with. Lastly, the heliotrope adds some more florals in the background, but of a sweet and powdery variety. It's worth noting that it doesn't have that almond nuance that some heliotrope notes can have. The dry down is sweet, warm, and powdery. The primary notes I get are vanilla, tobacco, cinnamon, and heliotrope. The strongest of the notes are the tobacco and vanilla. The tobacco has taken the spotlight in the dry down with a rich, warm, and sweet type of tobacco accord without any accompanying smokiness, like the inside of a cigar. Meanwhile, the vanilla still holds strong with its same creamy sweetness from the opening. This is followed by the cinnamon and heliotrope. The cinnamon gives the dry down a warm spiciness to help offset the sweetness of the tobacco and vanilla. Lastly, the heliotrope adds some soft, floral, and powdery notes in the background much like it did in the opening. I also get a touch of the honey in the dry down as well, for some additional sweetness. It's worth noting that even though tobacco and vanilla are the headliners in the dry down, it does not come across smelling exactly like Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille. It has the same sort of vibe, but is much easier wearing and not as aggressive. Performance: Initial projection is very strong and can fill a room. Sillage matches that energy with a dense scent trail. After a few hours, the projection was still at least 6 feet and the scent trail was still easily noticeable. At around the 7-8 hour mark, the projection was about 4-5 feet, and the scent trail, while lighter, was still noticeable. The fragrance became a skin scent around the 10-hour mark. When to wear: Tabac Citron Vanille is a fall/winter fragrance that can be worn during the daytime or evening. The fresh opening serves daytime wear well, while the warm and sweet dry down is perfect for evenings. This is a fragrance that can be dressed down and worn casually, but excels at special and/or formal occasions. I would not pick this to wear to the office, though. Blind buy: If you like sweet tobacco fragrances like Tobacco Vanille or Naxos, this is probably a safe blind buy for you. Final verdict: Well, I was correct; the citrus part of the fragrance shone through in the opening, whereas the tobacco and vanilla dominated the dry down. I gotta say that Sphinx Fragrances has the naming convention down pat. Tabac Citron Vanille was bright and zingy in the opening, but dried down to a warm and sensual tobacco/vanilla fragrance. I will say I preferred the dry down, as the opening was a touch too floral for me. On the topic of performance, Tabac Citron Vanille performed as well as I've come to expect from Sphinx Fragrances. Heavy projection and sillage for the first few hours, and lasting at least 10 hours before fading away completely. Versatility for tobacco/vanilla fragrances can be limited, but the bright and citrusy opening expanded that a bit. This is still, at its core, a cool weather fragrance, but it has enough versatility to be worn day or night, and to be appropriate for any occasion outside of office wear. Mass appeal is another win for this fragrance. Bright and citrusy fragrances are very popular, as are warm and sweet vanilla fragrances, and Tabac Citron Vanille splits the difference pretty well. In conclusion, I think this fragrance is a great place to start for anyone wanting to get into sweet tobacco fragrances. It allows you to test the waters without diving in headfirst with something like Tobacco Vanille or Red Tobacco. I already have fragrances that fit this DNA, so I don't necessarily need it in my collection. However, if you don't, I'd recommend giving this one a try. Scent: 8/10 Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 9/10

Blind bought this for the fun combination of notes and was a bit underwhelmed by it at first I think this is a fragrance that needs to be worn for a while for it to become something beautiful. When I first sprayed it on my skin the note that stood out the most was the honey, it was a bit too sweet. Once it dried down all the notes seemed too well blended so I couldn’t smell any of the notes it was named after it just smelled sorta warm and boozy. Once it had a few hours on my skin that’s when it became something intoxicating and when the tobacco and vanilla notes came out to play.

I am disappointed in this fragrance. I bought it because I wanted a tobacco fragrance and the reviews said it was just that. Unfortunately, I detect ZERO TOBACCO in this. On paper and my skin I get sweet floral almost like an oud/rose/saffron fragrance. As a fragrance itself, it is made very well. It does smell good. But the name and the reviews on their website are misleading. I can't see how anyone is getting tobacco out of this. Why call it Tabac Citron Vanille if it is just a fruity, spicy, floral fragrance. Update: I had reached out to Sphinx Fragrances customer service. They were nice enough to send a replacement. It just showed up and I have to say that it is similar to the first one I received but has a few slight differences. I'm getting more of the honey and slight amount of tobacco behind it. There is still a Floral Citrus Fruity aspect to the fragrance, but the honey and tobacco underneath definitely makes it better. I'm not sure why the first item I received missed these notes, but I can only assume the there was a slight batch difference or temperature exposure. Either way, I'm happy that they sent me a replacement.

This is probably the weirdest thing but to my nose this smells almost identical to DS&Durga's Pistachio, which I love. I have no idea how this combo of notes gets me there. Perhaps my nose is just broken today.

I get a beginning of a nice citrus vanilla combo, but the spiky woods take over rapidly and reduced this to burnt alcohol, rubber awfulness. Nothing I can wear with that aromachem in it.

Based on the identical notes, This is Joop Homme in a smaller bottle. Buy Joop instead, Under $30 for a huge 4.2oz bottle. This particular one sounds like a ripoff. lol

Just got a free sample of this. Really like the smell. This seems like something I could layer with Chanel Allure Home Edition Blanche.

Gorgeous Tabaco fragrance. Well blended. Very unique and it’s amazing with performance and Sillage.
