Like the review @scroub left below, I too initially thought this would be on the dryer, woodier side and really feel the mint is the star of this fragrance. I love the rose in this too because it seems to play so well with the saffron and earthier notes. I've read some reviews that compare this to Richwood by Xerjoff or Oud Satin Mood by MFK and it doesn't quite smell like those two to my nose. It's giving a bit of Fenty EDP layered with Ce Noir by Beyonce but a bit more refined imo. Easily unisex.

I expected something quite woody and dry, but it's surprisingly sweet and fresh (mint). What I smell most is the saffron and the rose. The oud is there, but quite lightly. It's not the main actor. I think it's very nice. Quite aromatic and earthy, it reminds me a bit of LNDL Bleu Electrique that I love dearly (but this one is sweeter/leans more feminine). 8.5/10

A soft velvety rose-oud-saffron combo. Has MFK Satin Oud Mood vibe but much lighter. So if you tried MKFK OSM and it was too strong, you can try this and just add more spray if you need it stronger. Light it may be but sure lasted on my skin.

On paper, the combination of saffron, almond, rose, mint, and a dense woody base suggests a balance between darkness and light, where spice, florals, and a subtle sweetness all work together to shape the experience. It reads as something layered and composed, rather than raw or overpowering, with the potential to feel both luxurious and wearable depending on how it unfolds. Let’s see how this divine composition takes shape once it meets the skin. Opening: The opening is sweet, floral, and spicy. The primary notes I get are rose, almond, saffron, and oud, with the rose and almond leading. The rose hits immediately with a prominent floral accord, carrying that familiar soft, velvety texture that feels smooth and slightly romantic without becoming overly dense. The almond joins alongside it with a creamy, nutty sweetness, but it leans far sweeter than a typical almond note, to the point where it comes across almost like vanilla. It adds a rounded, dessert-like softness that blends seamlessly with the rose and gives the opening a surprisingly inviting character. The saffron sits just beneath, introducing a warm, refined spiciness with a faint leathery nuance that adds depth and structure to the composition. In the background, the oud begins to take shape, providing a dark, subtly animalic woodiness that grounds the fragrance without dominating it at this stage. The result is an opening that feels rich and polished, balancing sweetness, florals, and spice in a way that is immediately approachable while still hinting at the depth to come. Dry Down: The dry down is sweet, floral, and woody. The primary notes I get are almond, patchouli, rose, and oud, with the almond and patchouli leading. The almond retains that same creamy, nutty sweetness from the opening, but now feels even richer and more enveloping, as if it has been amplified and deepened. The patchouli rises alongside it, adding an earthy sweetness that blends seamlessly into the almond, further pushing the fragrance into a distinctly vanillic direction. In fact, the sweetness at this stage becomes so pronounced and smooth that it strongly resembles a true vanilla accord, making it hard to believe there isn’t one present. The rose remains present, still offering that soft, velvety floral character, now with a slightly darker, almost wine-like nuance, but it has clearly taken a supporting role behind the dominant sweetness. The oud continues to sit in the background, maintaining a dark, woody foundation, though its more animalic qualities have softened considerably, allowing it to act more as structure than statement. The result is a dry down that feels far more gourmand than expected, coming across as a vanilla-forward composition supported by subtle florals and a restrained woody backbone. Performance: Projection in the first hour is powerful and easily capable of filling a small room, making a strong and immediate impression. Sillage follows with a dense, heavy trail that carries the sweetness and richness of the fragrance with ease. After about three to four hours, the projection begins to settle slightly but still reaches out to around six feet, maintaining a strong presence, while the scent trail softens but remains clearly noticeable. As the fragrance moves into the later stages around the eight hour mark, the projection draws in to about four to five feet, but the scent trail continues to perform well, still easily picked up in the air. It doesn’t fully settle into a skin scent until around the eleven to twelve hour mark, showcasing impressive longevity. Overall, this is a high-performing fragrance that sustains its presence and character throughout its lifespan. When to Wear: Wood of Gods feels most at home in fall and winter, where its warmth and sweetness can fully develop without becoming overwhelming. It leans strongly toward evening wear, where its richness and depth align well with more intimate or intentional settings. This is a fragrance that works particularly well for special occasions like date nights, where its sweetness and presence can come across as inviting and memorable. However, it does not lend itself as easily to casual wear, as it carries a level of density and intention that can feel out of place in more relaxed settings. It also struggles in more structured environments, as the combination of sweetness and subtle animalic undertones makes it less suitable for formal occasions and far too heavy for the office. Blind Buy: Wood of Gods is not a safe blind buy. The name itself sets an expectation of a wood-dominant fragrance, but in practice, it leans much more heavily into a sweet, vanillic profile than anything overtly woody. This disconnect alone makes it something that should be approached with caution. Additionally, while the rose and oud are not overwhelming, they are still present enough to influence the overall character, meaning it will best suit those who are comfortable with those notes. Because of the sweetness, the unexpected direction, and the supporting floral and woody elements, sampling is highly recommended before making a decision. Final Verdict: Wood of Gods ended up being something of a mixed experience for me. There is a lot to appreciate here, particularly in how it transforms into a smooth, almost vanilla-like fragrance despite not explicitly listing vanilla as a note. As someone who enjoys that type of sweetness, I found that aspect genuinely appealing. At the same time, the presence of rose, even in a supporting role, does not fully align with my personal preferences, and the name itself creates an expectation that the fragrance does not entirely fulfill. It is far less about woods than it suggests, and more about sweetness and softness, although performance is undeniably strong, adding to its overall quality and value. In the end, while I can recognize that this is a well-crafted and enjoyable fragrance, it does not quite fit what I look for in my collection. This to me is a sweeter version of Pana Dora Swedish Wood, on first spray I get almond, rose and wood, once it dries I get a sweet Oud. THE SILLAGE: (on clothes) is Strong for 4 hours, moderate for 12 hours easy, and intimate for 24+ hours. I got 2 compliments. THE LONGEVITY: on skin is about 8 hours, the longevity on clothing... My closet smelled like Wood of gods for 2 days until laundry day. This is full bottle, and back up bottle worthy. These were my spray points: On skin was all pulse points one spray each point(6 sprays) On clothing was LR collar, back collar, LR shoulder, and mid chest. (6 sprays) This is how I test all the time, it helps me gauge how I will need to spray in the future if I decide to purchase. SIDE NOTE: I do not recommend this amount of sprays if you work in an office, the dealership showroom floor where I work is huge enough where I wont choke anyone out.

Boozy, rosey, caramel, honey, and with an undercurrent of jasmine. Quite sweet and aromatic. Has a mysterious, alluring aura about it. Not really woody at the top at all. As it dries down the honey'd rose continues to bloom. It’s still a bit aromatic, but the predominant aroma is a fresh, moist, sweet rose petal smell. After a few hours some sort of super amber starts showing up.in the background. Sharp and biting, but luckily not too dominant. Overall, I like it a pretty good amount. Even though it's not really woody at all so the name is odd, I enjoy wearing it and am fascinated by it.

this smells basically identical to my intense cafe perfume. I was given two sample sprays of choice because my perfume arrived damaged and this was one of the options. I’m not mad it since I like the scent profile but the name is rather misleading. I was anticipating something woody rather than a rose coffee mix. I mean at least I have a portable travel spray. If you have something similar to this DNA (Mancera/Montale perfumes) then this would be redundant I think. The longevity is also super good so I think just go with whatever price point is more convenient.

Purchased a travel size of this fragrance. I have a very difficult time identifying notes. It comes off very sweet initially and eventually dries to a nice warm woody scent. It is very smooth with only a light spiciness. To me it is pretty linear. This fragrance doesn't seem to change much from freshly sprayed to dry down after a couple hours. That being said I do like it alot and have not smelled anything like it. Very rich and somewhat heavy fragrance. Not a dry and airy wood fragrance.

This is not groundbreaking in any mean - there are many fragrances that utilizes rose, oud and saffran which this fragrance is doing. I do agree this is similar to Roses Vanille, but the rose being used here is more sour/poppy than that utilized in Mancera. Intrinsically Roses Vanille being similar to Intense Cafe, some may say this is similar to Intense Cafe too (which is way darker than this).

This smells pretty similar to Amouge delina and atomic rose by initio. Imagine a mix of both of them. This smells like the color purple 10/10 scent with 6h longevity but loud projection.

Smells like a smoother and a bit lighter roses Vanille by Mancera. Absolutely no need for both.

To me, this is VERY heavy on the florals. Smells like potpourri. Not a fan, but may be because I'm not very fond of rose and saffron. Couldn't pay me to wear this.

Since I am a very big fan of alternative history, I decided to try this one out. Twilight of the Gods, Antique civilization, huge catastrophee that erased that beautiful people from the planet’s surface... I was mesmerized. The smell is good. Something different. Leans more patchoule, fougerre, earthy. With a hint of sweetness somewhere deep under the moss. But. Its not round up. Kinda. Something is missing there. Bitterness. Or tenderness. Its something in between. Can not even classify it properly. I love a rose note in the perfumes. This rose is hidden deeply under the weeks of rain, weeks of flood, months of dusty clouds covering the skies. Very interesting fragrance. If you know how to create a story behind the curtain.

Sphinx sent a free tester kit out that was very well done. It included this. I found it very similar to Xerjoff Richwood. I think this one is well worth the price tag and smells very high quality. My wife isn’t big on heavy wood fragrances, especially if there’s oud, so I’ll pass on a full bottle, but certainly appreciate what this has to offer.

For me, the fragrance is nothing special. It smells like a lot of other fragrances. For me, it smells like hairspray, mixed with an older woman’s perfume and makeup all combined. It’s not for me, and I have about 12ml of anyone would like it. Lmk.
