Matar

There are two very large elephants in the room. The first is the man, the legend --Chistian Provenzano. Is this hyperbole? Well, let me introduce my evidence. He is the perfumer behind 49. Boadicea fragrance. This house is regarded as one that produces rare and exorbitantly expensive gems (The bottles themselves are quite costly). He’s put out 28 his eponymous line, many of which have received rave reviews.19 from Sospiro ,6 from Clive Christian. He’s responsible for many hundreds of scents. He is the nose behind 32 Spirit of Kings. Matar is one of these scents. I think he’s has earned his reputation as one the Masters in the perfume industry. The second elephant in the room is the fact that Matar shares a remarkable similarity to Creed’s Aventus. It shares many of the same notes and the pineapple matches Aventus. Was this a conscious decision? I cannot think otherwise. Owning both would be redundant, but Matar can stand in the ring and earn a draw of the judge’s decision cards. At least that is how I see it. Some commentators say Matar matches the old Aventus releases. My Creed is over 10 years old which isn’t all that old, by Creed standards, but I still find it has good silage and longevity. Matar has good to strong silage and long to good longevity. It leans masculine, works day or night. It’s a wonderful warm weather scent. Matar is less expansive but only offers 100 ml. Creed offers 30 ml which is less expensive that Matar 100 ml. I would encourage potential buyers and decide for themselves which one they enjoy the most.

I'm really tired of seeing every person compare anything with pineapple to Creed Aventus, stop it. Now I saw this line at The Scent Room in Dallas and was taken in by the bottles. I read through the notes on the back of each bottle and when I got to this one I was intrigued by Pineapple, a note I don't have much experience with and apple, a note understated know fragrance but I LOVE. I gave it a spray and decided it needed to come home with me. I gave it a full wear test today and I was impressed! I sprayed it on at 8:40am and could still smell it at 9:09pm. It opened up with a tart pineapple smell, not the juicy summer pineapple one may expect. The apple is light, I really felt like it and the Bergamot were only present to keep the pineapple from being sickeningly sweet and I was ok with that. Over the of my shift I was complimented 3 times on this fragrance! One of which was an employee across the counter in Chipotle standing next to the food. How she could smell me I don't know, but she made sure to tell me at least three times before I left I smelled REALLY good and very different. Overall I think it's good fragrance, especially for the price point! I can't wait to try more from the house.

Probably the best Aventus "clone" I ever smelled. And for a reason: Christian Provenzano is the most serious perfumer out of all who tried to replicate the old Aventus glory. So, this does not smell very close to the current batches of Aventus, more like very early ones (2012-2013). Out of currently on the market fragrances: CDNI, Orion, Emperor. Just to give you an idea. The opening is not as nuanced as Aventus is, yet probably best out of all the above. The drydown really remind me of old batches (something that CDNI, Orion and Emperor are trying to do as well but I think Provenzano is just better at perfumery in general). Look, for under $200 for 100 ml it is probably as good as it gets (the hype is real!). If quality and closeness to the real Aventus is important to you (and price is not), try Creed's latest Absolu Aventus which is yet a different approach to the same. On the budget, CDNI and Orion are your best bets (more synthetic but better performance, duh). Very interesting, did not expect to like it as much!

I never heard Spirit of Kings before,my husband bought Mattar for me because he thought I need some freshies in my collection. Yes it's lean more masculine, but if women wear it, they'll smell powerful and sexy. It's not match with women who wants to smell dainty, sweet, super feminine.Its for mature sexy women. And men absolutely can pull this off easily.Its smell fresh from the fruit notes ,Bergamo last till drydown,flowery notes isn't too prominent, Musk and vanilla gives it softness,while earthy and woody notes from moss and birch wood as an anchor to give an oomph to Mattar.Full bottle worthy if you looking for Unique ,strong ,freshies for the cold months.

The pineapple fresh note in this one is quite prominent and unbelievable good!!! a superb freshie I even prefer it over Akdeniz I haven't tried aventus yet but if that's the way it's supposed to smell then I get all the hype now... it really screams cozy summer afternoon the curtains are moving due to the air breeze in the countryside of Tuscany.. it reminds me of those landscapes in the Witcher blood and wine aswell... Bottle design and cap are also gorgeous, unique and mastercrafted

Creed Aventus DNA, and similar quality for cheaper. I do like it. Will buy a full bottle.

Good alternative to aventus or hacivat

Okay! Paid reviewers over did it a bit 😅 I have no idea that When did Provenzano become one of the biggest perfumers? Also, what the hell are quality oils? 😅 are they using naturals, absolutes, co2 extracts? Did IFRA allow the birch tar? this statement alone is a tagline of the “impression/clone” oil sellers, no? Highest quality oils, A+ grade A++ grade etc. Isn’t it him who have been working with armaf? Pro tip: Never try to bring an extra oomph to a review or people around here will catch you red handed. Okay now the review! 😁 This one is no doubt a very very good clone of aventus and the smokier edge has been done beautifully... if you are looking for earlier CDNIM batches then better get this ...

Very nice cologne I do see where people get the creed reference,to me it does smell like Aventus cologne not the regular Aventus but overall nice and the longevity is there I do get 9 plus hrs. So you basically can wear it to work come home and reapply and go out for the evening.. it was a blind buy and not disappointed that I bought it.

Killer fruity Aventus clone but a touch redundant if you have L’Aventure, or so many PV. Reserved its own character with a mild earthy undertone. This one is also more expensive, and the bottle is annoying to look at.

Very similar to Aventus and blended with quality ingredients. Presentation is good too. This was a blind-buy, and my first fragrance from this house. No regrets.

I enjoy this fragrance but I would not compare it to Creed Aventus.

#624 in my "Tour de Fragrance" There's enthusiasm for some scents I'm never going to understand, Aventus being one of them, which to me is a very mediocre, middle of the road fragrance that makes no particular impression. Matar is an exact copy of http://www.BondNo9.com perfume, which is an approximation of Aventus, minus red pepper. I think red pepper actually adds a little something to the Aventus, but not enough to make it worth the price to me. Matar costs about the same as Aventus, same as the Bond No 9 (which at least comes in a more decorative bottle), about the same longevity, and though for me the Bond No 9 projected a little better than this, Matar will be detectible on your clothing all day. If you spend the money on any of those three I think you're wasting your money. If you like Matar or Bond No 9, Afnan Supremacy Silver is nearly the same fragrance for $33. Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Man is a bit more citrusy for $45. And if you really want the red pepper note of Aventus, Montblanc Explorer is $65 and its leather note is an improvement on Aventus to me. But I think they're all boring. Spirit of Kings oudy Tabana is way more interesting than this, but even with that you'd do as well with Montale Aoud Leather ($58) or Rasasi La Yuqawam ($46). This scent is carpool, elevator and closed office safe, for warmer climes, a daytime scent, not for date night. But I wouldn't bother. And given the price, if Aventus is really your jam and you don't like the alternatives I've mentioned above, then go for the real thing, not this 90% imitation at the same price.

Spirit of Kings is a great concept. They decided to use a great perfumer to make clones of popular fragrances but with quality ingredients rather than mediocre oils as most of the clones. I love the concept. This is Aventus New snd improved. Quality ingredients. Waaay better than current formulations. High end oils and made by one of the best perfumers in the industry. Do NOT waste your money on clone houses that use mediocre oils, you know like that overpriced one out of England, for example 😁😁; get this instead. Performance is great. Not a beast. I think Provenzano is not a fan of beast scents. The performance is just right. Price is great for the quality you are getting

It is really amazing perfume. I like the smell too much. It is great for summer. It has a very nice smell and it is very clean. I liked also the perfume package, the bottle and the atomizer. I bought it online blind buy for US$170. It is not cheap but it is worth the price as it is smell very niche and clean. It cost me almost half the price of a bottle of creed aventus but for me matar smell similar to the old smoky batches of creed aventus which you can not find now in the market. If you like aventus smell you will like matar. Im not sure about the sillage and longivity as im still testing it.

Matar is the story of a kingdom now close to ruin, everyone announces defeat but the king, not wanting to give up, asks some last advice from the elders. Humility, not resigning yourself to having that light inside that leads you to persist until the end. A fragrance with a fruity opening marked by pineapple and apple, bright, which always remains sparkling until it gives way to floral and woody scents. Cheerful, summery, for those who are full of light.

If you love aventus and that DNA then this is one of the best clones you can get. Smells great quality and the performance is also fantastic, better than the current Aventus. Alghabra - city of Jasmine used to me my go to Aventus clone but price to bottle size (50ml) value isn’t great and Matar smells better and at least comes in 100ml.

Not sure what some of the other reviewers mean when they say that this doesnt smell like Aventus. Maybe they are correct in terms of this doesnt smell like Aventus from recent years. This really does smell like pre-2013 batches when they were smokier. The performance isnt beast mode by any means but it is still decent.
