Verity

So I'm currently sampling my way through 6 of the new releases by Spirit of Kings, just the new bottle design ones. So this one being first up I can say right as I sprayed this, instantly I knew.... it is another Creed Aventus take, yeah I know I'm bored of it too. Despite the overplayed DNA, I must admit this is a really nice lighter and fresher take - most likely coming from the aldehydes. Part of this reminds me of Sahara Blue if you taken away the seaweed note and toned down the oakmoss by like 90%... Might actually call this Creed Aventus's best clone to date that I've tried - so to sum it up slightly fresher / more airy, lowered oakmoss and a bit less smokiness and you got Verity. Price is about the same as Aventus...would've been a good talking point had it been much lower. Ahh well.. Would I buy: Might've been tempted at a discount - to replace my empty Aventus Recommended: If like me you're bored of Aventus and its million takes you can pass - if you want a good alternative this edges out Consort, Imperium, etc just all my opinion of course.

An Aventus alternative. If you’re not bored of this DNA and fancy it with a slight twist then this is a good choice. It’s fresher and brighter, with a fairly evident patchouli base. It’s still very much Aventus though. It has moderate longevity on my skin with moderate projection. A good, all-round versatile fragrance with nice presentation. Were Aventus not so ubiquitous then this would be great but it’s starting to be done to death and this isn’t that different from the original plus performance is a bit meh for me, fading fast after the initial blast which makes the current ‘eternal’ rating above, by most people, quite suspect. Having said that, it does perform better on clothing so this might be partly due to my skin. Edit: I really like the scent and the presentation is great but the performance isn’t up to scratch for this price point. It just doesn’t seem to last. I find the ratings on this page very suspicious so approach this with caution.

Not Aventus, certainly not Hacivat. Verity is lighter, cleaner, fresher, more floral. This is actually closer to something like Aventus Cologne but really it's its own thing within that big family of scent profiles. Performance is quite solid for this kind of scent as well. I'm getting close to the end of my bottle and shopping around for another I see that this is out of stock most places other than the brand's official site so I'm not sure if it's been discontinued or what.

Finally! A floral aldehyde thats unisex enough for men! And not only does it lean masculine, it's SO GOOD! They did not overdo the oakmoss like Aventus does. There isnt much overlap between this an Aventus, but there definitely is some. Perhaps 40-50% similar. This is different enough that you wont have to worry about it being mistaken for Aventus. I like this as much as Arrakis and more than Matar. 9 of 10. I would have marketed this as a men's fragrance though, not unisex. Why? Because there are less than 20 fragrances in this entire database that are floral aldehydes for men. It would easily be the BEST floral aldehyde for men, if they had marketed it that way. Oh well. I am ordering another 9 or 10mL ASAP. The two reviews before mine are crazy. I recommend disregarding those.

Verity is soapy/rosey unisex clone of Avintus with milld silage and soft projection. I wish if the performance was better which would made it a full bottle worthy for me.
