LYNCH aka smoked styrax

An absolutely fantastic fragrance from the house of Spiritica! I have tried a couple of their other creations which weren’t for me, but they absolutely nailed it with this one. Gourmand without being gourmand, light and dark at the same time. I have sampled a couple of fragrances inspired by David Lynch, but I feel that others were just too dark. This one captures that darkness for sure, but also adds a lightness that I feel represents the quirky side of David. I absolutely get the sense of an older gentleman type of fragrance, but not in the usual way. It’s more like if he had a nice suit on, sitting in a nice leather chair, smoking an expensive cigar but surrounded by the red curtains in the lodge from twin peaks. Classy and dark at the same time. Something I’m surprised I haven’t seen people talk about is the (to me) very apparent sense of petrichor. Not wet soil-y, but more like a light spring/summer rain when the vegetation comes to life after a dry period. I also get some rooibos tea in here as well, which is a really nice surprise. I don’t usually enjoy neither gourmand nor tobacco scents, but Lynch has an airiness to these accords that makes it super addictive for me. Can’t wait to rewatch Twin Peaks and sniff my wrists. Fire walk with me!

Opens with five minutes of a pleasing, crystal clear, solitary black cherry note. Naturally sweet smelling, but didn't smell cakey to me at all. If anything, as someone mentioned below, it has an alcoholic feel to it. Then, almost kicking this opening to one side, a pleasant saffron rounded by touches of clove and tempered florality. Finally, around 3-4 hours in, it has morphed again; resinous and earthy green with a subtle freshly cured tobacco leaf apparent. This last stage reminds me of Feuilles de Tabac by Miller Harris. I enjoy the distinct stages, and overall it is unique among all the fragrances I own or have owned, and that is something quite novel to me. The fragrance itself is deceptively 'light' for it's profile and easy to wear, definitely not overly sweet, thick and dark like the notes above may read. If I didn't know any better I would've guessed it was created by a company like Imaginary Authors. Also, I think the "Eternal" Longevity and "Enormous" Sillage ratings are certainly overstated. Lasts well ( 8 hours-ish ) but projection is average and sillage is decent. I really do quite like this..

Wow. This is my signature fragrance now. Incredible just getting out of the way this lasts weeks on clothes and thumps and fills rooms. Truly an unsettling mysterious deep smell with a story like no other. It opens with cherry tobbaco and deep dark woods. I get this burning sensation when smelling this. Its like someone wanted to hide something so they just burned it. A secret deep and unforgiving. It smells like you were at a birthday party but all of a sudden everything goes still everyone is gone. No matter how much you search for them they are not found. The burning woods and unfinished cake with sweet cherry sodas sit still along with the unfinished cigarettes and ash remaining . There is no where else to go. The most you can do is sit there and wait. Truly mysterious its incredible and extremely alluring.

I can only agree that the price point is huge, but other brands claim the same prices for way lower quality, which is definitely not the case here. I had the chance to test it and, to me, this one is a stunner due to the tobacco leaves and fresh-out-of-the oven pie (to me it feels more like a forest fruit pie, not really like a cherry one), which act as catalyzers for woody notes. Performance is no joke, even for a very dry skin like mine: all day long, with no exaggeration, 2 or 3 hours of very powerful projection (it literally filled my flat) and, later on, the scent bubble around me could still be felt by everyone in the same room. A true star in a cold winter's night!

Lynch is, as Spiritica puts it, an “olfactory homage” to David Lynch, who passed away this year, and his acclaimed mystery drama Twin Peaks. Much can be written about the parallels between the accords of this fragrance and Twin Peaks (and I did but that review disappeared from the site without explanation). Suffice to say for now that the mix of cherry pie, tobacco and smoked styrax lends the fragrance and understated elegance, while not being overly sweet or overly smokey making it one of my best perfumes in my collection along with Yuzuyakuza and Mangomacumba also from Spiritica.

Managed to get my hands on Lynch and the others from Spiritica, and honestly I’m impressed. I kept seeing all those “obsessed with it” reviews and thought they were exaggerated... but after trying them myself, I get the hype. The profiles are rich, textured, and far from the usual syrupy sweetness you find elsewhere. Each one has its own character, and you can actually feel the work and intention behind the compositions. For me, they’re absolutely worth the price — unique, memorable, and surprisingly addictive. Still: always try before you buy, but in this case the hype was real.

I bought it today (the tester) and it’s insanely addictive. I keep smelling my wrist! Cherry comes through strong but not like a cherry pie but a cherry cognac? Also smelling the benzoin which I was first not a fan of but the more it’s staying on my body the less offensive it becomes and the more I love it! Super fun, will defo get the full bottle!

Masterpiece with every sense of the word my god it’s so addicting, blended beautifully that it left me in awe. Cherry pie with tobacco and very airy scent not as heavy as you might think either but performance is impeccable 10/10. Price is too much, but it’s definitely better than other fragrances that sell at that price.

What a beautiful scent. Blasted with sumptuous cherry which dries down to a lush campfire woodiness, balanced by a hint of greenery from what I assume is the grass tree. A gourmand without being a gourmand. 10/10

Most beautiful perfume in my collection. Smells so mysterious, like you're driving on a foggy road in a PNW forest, going nowhere. Some time ago you ate a cherry cake but you cant really remember.

A fragrance blending tobacco, cake and patchouli, long lasting and with an overwhelming sillage.

"Lynch" smells like Audrey Horne if she ever escaped Twin Peaks. She left the cherry pies and the Double R Diner behind, studied abroad, reinvented herself, and now, somewhere between 30 and 35, she's a gorgeous, successful woman sipping red wine at a sleek New York/ Paris/ London rooftop bar, staring at the city skyline. Nothing in her polished life recalls Agent Cooper's black coffee, Laura's secrets, or the twisted shadows of her family's empire. Yet there's a faint tremor of unease buried deep in her subconscious. You can take the girl out of Twin Peaks, but you can never quite smoke Twin Peaks out of the girl. In a moment of pure indulgence (or perhaps a dramatic mental breakdown), I could see myself dropping 300 eurodollars on a 50ml bottle of this enigmatic lady. But in reality? It's not on my emergency wishlist. Very sexy, beautiful, mysterious, but not quite mind-blowing enough to justify the price for me. Update: The moment of pure indulgence and a dramatic mental breakdown happened, and now I am a proud owner of Lynch aka smoked styrax, and I don't regret anything.

Truly an incredible work of art to honour an incredible artist. I was immediately struck by the blend of cherry pie, sweet like the crystallised sugar on top, but still has the slight sourness of the cherry filling, and a smoky, well balanced, tobacco. A sweet, warm, spiciness - not that of a middle eastern spice market, but the feel of a warm forest cabin, I can only assume distantly inspired by Twin Peaks. A lovely true vanilla base to tie it all together. Melts into the skin like butter, and is another true unisex. The only issue is the price tag and expensive shipping. Listed as 300 EUR + the weirdly expensive shipping puts it in a premium price point, that I just can't justify, as personally I wouldn't wear this enough. That being said, if this is your thing, it is fully wearable and pleasant! I will be recommending this to others in the future.

Funny how suddenly reviews seems to disappear from this brand. Many of the ones gone, had something criticizing, not in a bad way but people are allowed to have opinions right?! It’s also funny how the other fragrances from the brand was on the lower end now seems to be way above 4. I personally had a review that was deleted from here. But I don’t care that much to be honest, I sold my bottle anyway..

Managed to get my hands on Lynch and the all the others from Spiritca. I feel duped by the reviews. Some of the "obsessed with" reviews, many by new accounts with only zero or a couple reviews, appear to be tied to the brand. Hard pass for me - sickly syrupy. Better options out there regardless of the silly price. Try before buying, don't blindly listen to the hype.

I am obsessed with Spiritica. I think their perfumes are the highest quality, most interesting, most unusual and most accurate representations of the story they are trying to tell. Lynch is a decadent, addictive and warm smoked woody tobacco with a tiny touch of sweetness. There is this unusual sharpness, warm woodiness, something boozy with this smoked (not burning) tobacco touch. I can't pick out the cake, cherry or jasmine, they just provide this sweetness and added depth which this house does so so well with. These are so complex and I am having a hard time picking between getting the FB of Leonarda of Jeffree because those are as amazing as this. Truly obsessed with this house and I really wish they didn't remove the other 2 off of here so I could leave those reviews. I would happily buy FB of all everyone that i've tried from this house because they are THAT good 🤤

Fragrantica decided to cower and remove all Spiritica's murder and psychopath inspired fragrances starting with Jeffrey... First, they removed Miguel Matos article regarding his appreciation for the brands audacity to inspire a perfume based on the suffering Jeffrey Dahmer caused to his victims. Now, even that the fragrance in question has being removed from the database. Now what? The problem is not igniting the community about a subject that could bring a respectful discussion but instead, The problem is that fragrantica and its editors decided to endorse a brand that is intending to laugh about the tragedy of other humans that until this day are still crying for justice. How repulsive...

I get a blast of piercing patchouli in the first 20mins, it’s like smelling mothballs up close. I am not sure if this is how the scent was supposed to behave, or is it my nose that’s more sensitive to this type of patchouli, becus I get the exact same opening effect with Chopard’s Patchouli Lime and Moth & Rabbit’s Single Man. After around 20mins, that mothball effect eases off and I can finally smell a cherry clove sweetness soaked in rum. I am not giving up on this scent because I simply love the bottle 🤣

Time to move to Parfumo from this censorshiped platform 💩 Freedom of art is controlled by some crying Karens and people commenting without testing here. Fragra also removed discontinued fragrances from the houses lists and makes everything harder to search, next will be blood/war/sex inspired perfumes...
