9 Final Spirit

Testing blind is far more enjoyable than ever knowing what the notes are up front. The opening here was viscous, thick, with a sweet and vanilla dried fruit tobacco/leather element, all sitting on the back of an oudy myrrh foot. That bit of pungency gives it character and carries it in good direction. The dry down is much the same with the sweetness withered down and more earthy, and woody. I couldn't place the fruit note, but seeing how it was dates rings very true. This is a date forward fragrance, masked by everything else. Seeing how I recently (like two months ago) enjoyed a very nice box of dates, this brings me right back to them. How i couldn't pick that out surprises me. I think the pungency, viscous sweet tobacco side will keep some people at bay, and that's just fine. I enjoyed it.

Leather, out, dattes, tobacco, spices... Indiana jones in a bottle. More for winter, it is a warm fragrance, more for a mature man. "The herbaceous rustling of Clary Sage energizes a generous opening, ablaze with Cinnamon. Echoes of Cistus are heard, illuminated by a ray of Davana revealing its aromas of yellow fruits. The sun rises, the light shines and the Saffron gradually reveals its leathery warmth supported by a heart of fleshy and milky Date. Feverish distillation of creamy Sandalwood streaked with Vanilla Absolute, it prolongs the greedy heart to a base where Myrrh glows against a dark fabric of Oud and Cypriol. Perfume of a shining light in the hollow of darkness, Final Spirit assumes the beauty of generous hearts whose gaze always finds the truth."

3/10 To me this is quite feminine. I overwhelmingly smell the dates and a stingy sweetness. It also has a slighty dusty undertone. Unfortunately it was a scrubber for me

What a beautiful scent! Slightly sweet, yet dry, dark yet airy, masculine yet I might rock it myself without garnering some ambiguous comments. I get the dates and smoky resins sitting on a sandalwood base. The quality of the ingredients is stellar, the performance is second to none. I would be instantly attracted to a guy smelling like this. He's not a football player, he's a thinker.

To me, the oud is omnipresent which really bothers me. I wouldn't say it's feminine but it does have a soapy aspect. I'm glad I sampled this. It's not a bad perfume, just not my thing.
