Dupont Oud et Santal

Kolleksiyonumda ağır bir arap-oryantal parfüm ama gelişim süreci sonucunda eksi-acı noktasına gelmesin diyorsanız deneyebileceginiz bir parfüm var karşımızda. Sandalwood , Oud un parfümü domine etmesinin biraz önüne geçmiş. Parfüm aslında sadece bu iki nota arasında, diğerlerinin sahnesi çok ama çok kısa, fark etmek zor. Oldukça kalıcı olan parfüm 4-5 saat boyunca bir değişiklik göstermiyor. Sadece koku dağılımı biraz azalıyor. Kapalı ortamlarda kullanımı zor. Sonbahar akşamları, dış ortamlar için harika. 35 yaş ve üstü için uygun. Düzenli kullanabileceğiniz bir parfüm değil. Ofis ortamlarında çalışma arkadaşlarınızı rahatsız edebilir. Eğer yine de ofiste kullanmak isterseniz miktara dikkat edin. Dupont, bazı değerlendirmelerde de belirtildiği gibi bunu Körfez bölgesini duşunerek üretmiş. Fiyatı , performansı ile kıyaslandığında gayet iyi. Aynı serinin gül-oud olani ise bayanlarinda deneyebilecegi türden. Gül, oud ü kontrol etmekte sandalwood dan daha iyi. Ülkemizde anında "haciyagi" yakıştırmasını alabilir. Sadece oud üzerine kurulmuş, serinin 3. Ürünü ise en sert olani. Açıklamasında geçmese de bunda da bir miktar gül var ancak sadece girişte kısa bir sahnesi var, ardından oud tek başına kalıyor. Karşılaşırsanız mutlaka deneyin. Bu kategoride makul fiyatı ve iyi performansı ile iyi bir alternatif oluşturuyor. Edit; İlk yorumu yaptığım günden bu yana görüşüm değişmedi ancak kalıcılık konusunda elimdeki en güçlü parfüm olduğunu söylemeliyim. Sabah kullandığım parfüm akşam çıkarıp 1 saatlik programda yıkanan gömlekler çıkmadı. Bu durum her ne kadar başarılı gibi düşünürse de aynı zamanda ciddi bir kimyasal kullanımına işaret. Koku gerçekten güzel ama sağlığımızı düşünerek sanırım sadece kıyafet üstünde kullanmak daha iyi olacak.

No messing around here, Oud et Santal does exactly what it says on the tin. If, like me, you love sandalwood and oud then you are in for a good time. The first few hours have the oud taking about 60% of the stage and the sandalwood about 40%. After that it turns a little sweeter and the sandalwood dominates with the occasional subtle waft of amber and hint of patchouli. The oud is of the burnt tyre, crude oil, almost creosote, variety and the sandalwood is of the dry, aromatic, dusty wood variety. A very heady combination. No flowers, fruits or femininity here. This is the smell of a man who has survived a near-death journey, through sun-drenched desert, and made it out the other side by the skin of his teeth. I loved this amazing fragrance instantly. It delivers exactly what I want from an oud and sandalwood perfume. Details are sketchy on who the perfumer is but we do know, luxury goods maker, S.T. Dupont works with top names. Whoever is behind this scent knows what they're doing. Top notch ingredients and a perfect blend. This is a very high concentration Eau de Parfum, it is dense. The sillage is huge and the longevity is forever. If you're a fan of all I have mentioned above then I highly recommend seeking this out. Apparently, it is only available for retail in the Middle East and Oceania. So, if you're in Britain or the States have a look at eBay, it appears regularly on there. Edit: since writing this review I have found out that Sonia Constant, senior perfumer at Givaudan, is the nose behind this -- I am not surprised the creator turns out to have a high pedigree.

How come nobody is talking about this masterpiece? This is an absolute hidden gem especially if you're into the incense notes in perfumes. Beautifully blended combination of Oud, Amber, and incense. Exceptional performance for the price you are paying. And just to make things clear, it smells nothing like Black Afgano by Nasomatto. Black Afgano is a much darker scent. By the way, as the gentleman @V.Markov said, you can find it under a different name which is Black Incense. 9.5/10

Beautiful scent, very soft and noble. Sandalwood has a dry, a little bit tart quality. Oud notes are slightly medicinal at the opening, but then very soft. They counterbalance this dryness of sandalwood. Incense in the middle of the fragrance pyramid is not strongly emphasized which makes the smoke very soft and cozy. This coziness of embers is at the same time very classy. Longevity is over twelve hours on my skin. Strongly recommended for rainy and snowy days!

If Black Afgano had a more elegant and refined twin brother, this would be it. While they share 95% of each other's DNA, I find STDP's Oud et Sental more wearable for work. Silage/Longevity are 10/10 and the scent trail is just magnificent. Not sure if it's discontinued though. If you enjoy BA and Gucci's IO then find it and buy it!
