Royal Amber

I bought an S.T. Dupont fragrance for the first time 2 months ago. As usual for a non mainstream perfume this was a blind buy for me. My attention was captured by magnificent bottle and the amber note as amber and oud are probably the notes I like the best. I can only say that I don't regret one cent of the price I paid for it. This stuff is signature scent material. It will be dificult for me to resist to the other two fragrances of this series. After a couple of sprays, you notice that this fragrance is all about amber and leather. A divine amber that embraces all around you blended with a very smooth leather. There is something animalic about the fragrance that catches your attention in a good way. The notes combination also lead you to scent a balsamic aura around the created ambiance together with a gorgeous smokiness. 16 hours ago, I sprayed the back of my hand twice I can still sniff a very faint skinscent. You get bigger performance if you spray on your clothes and hair. This persitant long phase is very alluring. My rates for S.T.Dupont Royal Amber: Scent Opening: 9.0 (my judgement) Scent Dry Down: 9.0 (my judgement) Longevity: 9.5 (very very long; 2 sprays may last for 10-16 hoursm but only a skinscent after the 8th hour) Sillage: 7.5 (5~6 feet at its peak with just 2 sprays) Uniqueness: 9.0 (quite unique but there is a resemblance with both Men Amber and WomenAmber for by Halston.) Wearability: 9.5 (Its subleness let's you wear it all around the year with the sole exception of the summer daytime,) Versatility: 9.0 (As long as the people around you are confortable withh an alluring oriental scent, you may use it everywhere with de sole exceptions of beach and workout. Quality: 9.0 (my judgement) Presentation: 10.0 (Defenetly in the front row of any shelf) Price: 7.5 (100 ml non tester for 37 Euros + shipping) Overall rating: 9.00/10.00 I strongly recommend this fragrance to both genders. It's tottaly unisex.

@ boogyfan.. I totally agree with your comments. I own both Calligraphy Rose and Royal Amber. C.R has a extremely sweet rose vib for the first 20 minutes. It does settles and you're able to pick up some wood notes...very long lasting 12+ hrs! Dupont has come out with several excellent frags including R.A. After spraying it on my skin it reminds me of 24 Gold 24 from Scentstory except R.A is far more smoother and not as synthetic on me. At first spray, amber isn't smack in my face. It works well with the oud notes. There's just a hint of leather that brings it together. Saffron and sandalwood kinda gives it that mystique from the Middle East except it's not as strong...wearable for those who live more in North American. This juice is perfect for evening wear especially during the fall and winter months. Longevity and Sillage is excellent..at least 6hrs+. Oud being so popular in the past 5+ year's, I have several oud/rose or oud blends. I had this gem tucked away with some of my rare and hard to find colognes. Come this fall I'll certainly start making better use of this juice. 8/10

This is not something I normally go for.I prefer feminine fragrances to unisex ones and however I love amber,I usually avoid leather and our in perfumes I tested it from my friend's bottle and wow! I'm going to need a bottle for fall and winter It's a real oriental fragrance.not a complex one,not as simple as it's notes suggest either.I can definitely smell oud here but it's not a bad news.it's our reminds me oud in "lancome oud bouquet"which is to die for. Amber,oud,a hint of leather and I can also feel something like benzoin and sandalwood and a very light touch of spicy florals(a very light saffron-rose)and a soft dash of powder blend together to create this warm,cozy,smooth,delicious,rich and sophisticated scent.it's yummy in an oriental,grownup way and is really unisex That tiny amount lasted on my skin for a long time but I can't comment on it's sillage yet I liked Royal amber very much and it's very price-worthy Welcome to my wishlist dear

Very strange?!! This one is allready in production, I have it from tha first months of 2016...this is perfect oriental composition with enormous longevity... Here, the pyramid of notes is very poor...S.T. Dupont enriched it with tartness of lemon, aromatic mint and violet leaves in top notes. The heart of the composition provides aromatic breezes of lavender and sage, enhanced with woody, masculine accords of sandalwood and cedar surrounded with moss. Top notes: lavender and sage Heart notes: sandalwood and cedar Base notes: Lemon, mint and wood moss

remind me of Zara Ambre Noble but this is smoother, more creamy in my nose. while ambre noble is more rough, more sweetness and almost cloying. if you on the budget, you can take Ambre Noble, simply it has better price and Longetivity. but, if you want the more sophisticated luxury vibe, go for this one. for me, the notable different is the quality ingredients used. ambre noble is a bit screechy and rough for me. Scent: 10 Longetivity: 8.5 (7hrs) AN is better on longetivity Projection: 9 (3hrs+) Sillage: 9.5 (almost fill the room!)

best thing about this fragrance, its beast mode longevity and projection, but never becomes annoying or on your face. its lovely sweet saffron, sandalwood/vanilla, oud, suede and patch combo. so delicious, people will always compliment you. it can be worn at winter and cooler summer days/nights. this House is definitely Niche quality, i wish there was more presence of amber in this like davidoff amber blend but this smells heavenly so i forget 10/10

This is a very beautiful oud perfume. Oud is sweetened with amber and I can even smell those red berries. Leather? Maybe there is but it is rather oud than anything leathery -- and I have smelt leathery perfumes too and can compare (I like some of those a lot). So the prominent oud is misleading the name: those wishing amber my be disappointed. I bought it without having tested first, I only read reviews here. One of the best such buys.

Woooooooooow!!!! If you want to smell expensive, if you want to turn women's head, if you want to have one simple fragrance to wear the whole winter, go for it blind buy it, and you'll not regret any cent that you've paid. Amber/cherry/oud/cedarwood/ and sandalwood well blended and it will punch you in the face all the notes and the most amazing thing is, in the same time!!! 9/10 fragrance and i never regret my blind buy 65€

It's very similar smelling to Ferrari Oud Essence minus the rose note . But Ferrari I just couldn't wear because of a weird feeling on smelling so I sold it off and bought Ferrari Amber essence instead .. something is very weird in that fragrance This is proper high end leather fragrance with excellent amber note . LUXURY IN A BOTTLE 10/10 for me .

Parfum qui a une particularité d’être oriental et a la fois occidental une projection modérer avec une longévité trop bonne son coté ambré est vraiment royal comme son nom l'indique, l'autre face du cuir le rend plus coriace la bouteille est tout simplement magnifique

This is one of those perfumes whereupon first sniff, you might think, this is a pretty Amber... but for those willing to pay a little closer attention, the richer, more complex nature unfolds into a beautiful array of harmonizing notes and accords.

I blind bought it based on the positive reviews here also it was cheap $35. I hate its opening when I tried it, very similar to kalemat black. Once it settled, I loved it, it is very rich & smooth Amber with fruity leather.

@nordstorm Thanks dear for clarifying, I didn’t try Nobel wood, but I still find the opening of this one similar to K black, fortunately, the opening doesn’t last more than 30 minutes.

The type of fragrance that you would be willing to pay 300$ if it came under Tom Ford Brand name, Absolutely amazing, both the scent and performance is 10/10. a true hidden gem

This has the best leather dry down IMO Beats every leathery perfume I have.

I bought based on reviews. The initial spray was not amber at all. I agree, there is some oud coming through- but not the traditional middle eaestern ouds. I thoughy Calligraphy Rose from the initial spray, which itself is a beast. This is not as potent as that but a strong scent of rose swings through. It does disaapear over time but it is there. Wish there was more amber but maybe the argawood drowns it out, maybe. My nose dint catch the amber at all. Not a bad fragrance but underwhlemed based upon the reviews. Id give this a 7 out of 10 for the scent. If you are looking for performance- put on yor best loafer and be prepared to dance all day! 10/10 on performance. Scent does change over time so in the end it is a different smell from the inital spray. At dinner you may say "hmm, is this what I sprayed this morning??".
