Empire

Pretty much blind bought it - it was in my local drug store, only one bottle left, no tester available. It costed peanuts, so I decided that if I don't like it it's going to be a geeky toilet refresher 😀 It's a somewhat generic men's cologne - smells like dusty spiced green apple. Projection and longevity are quite strong - survived soap like a boss. So for what it costs it's not a complete waste of money.

I just bought this today at the supermarket for my oldest son's 18th birthday which is also today. He's a bit difficult when it comes to fragrances, because he doesn't like the sporty fresh fragrances most young males seem to prefer. He says there's a counter trend to sporty-fresh fragrances among male teenagers. I'm 40, what do I know... Honestly, I bought it as a joke because it was cheap and he's a Star Wars fan. Luckily for me, he really likes it. First spray is strong and heavy. But at least on my son, it quickly dries down to a warm skin scent. More of an evening scent and he's got a few high school parties coming up, plus prom. So he's grateful that he has something to wear for those occassions. If the fragrance performs differently with someone else's chemistry and the initial blast lasts longer, I worry that it could be too overbearing for some. Other than that, it's pleasantly classic on my son and I hope that's the experience most will have with it, though I fully understand if many will be put off by the bottle and franchise association. I like tonka, amber and patchouli. I like all kinds of orientals, also woody orientals. It reminds me of a lavendar dominant fragrance my husband had, for some odd reason, though I don't smell lavendar. That was a fragrance in a purple bottle shaped like a hand grenate. I don't know enough men's fragrances, to say if it's a dupe for another fragrance. I hope someone else will do a "this perfume reminds me of:" or write a comment if Star Wars Empire has a dupe/dupes.

Well, for sure this one won ́t appeal to those fragrance snobs out there. I judge it for what it is: an inexpensive, very nice license product. But for this it is very well done! Very dark and male, just like the theme suggests, maybe a tad too sweet in the opening stages, before drydown. The (not alien, but rather) "out of this world" character, they ́ve achieved is also very nice, they ́ve really hit the theme. Sillage is not a floor filler, but good, surprisingly it ́s rather long lasting, it still lingers around the 12 hour mark. Not bad! Got the 60ml set with the shower gel for 15 €, so to give it a try won ́t ruin you. Also nice as a gift which won ́t embarass you. Great for those short out of home occasions, when you want to smell nice and male, without wasting your good stuff for the random rebel scum.

Totally forgetable...only for Star Wars fans (to wear at the movies!). Sweet fragrance, only last a couple of hours then gone. Not worth the 16 euro for 40 ml. 3/10
