Into the Wild

First impressions! Wow this a lovely bright golden green at the opening (not cold but warm to my nose)! What reminded me of a lemongrass note is the ozone and probably fern with cypress. I feel like as it transitions from the opening, it’s almost like you’re in a forest in different seasons; at first it’s a warm summery and sunny day in the forest, dappled light coming through the branches. As it moves forward, it’s getting earthier and mossier (I love me some oak moss), headed into Fall on the cusp of winter. I am enjoying the masculine dry down on this right now, keep getting whiffs of it and smelling myself. It smells like a darker, colder, drier forest higher up on the mountain now to my nose. I’m going to have fun layering with this too - I’m thinking something vanilla with a little spice, or a spicy rose (maybe ELDO Rossy de Palma Eau de Protection), or earthy dark rose (maybe Terry de Gunzberg Rouge Nocturne) for a floral Chypre effect (my fave olfactory category). Well done, Chris and Darren! Also please note: it’s a shame that Fragrantica has not updated their database with the rest of Darren’s beautiful creations under his own label (as of now, 10/31/23). Please check his creations out as they are all amazing, and some even have a vintage feel. I own Devil’s Share and Sacred Smoke, and will be buying a LOT more. He is extremely talented, and Chris was very fortunate to have Darren bring his perfume vision to life in Into the Wild.

Wow, the amount of trolls on this website is getting worse and worse. PINOSYLVESPERLYND clearly made that account just for the sake of trolling this, saying its a clone of Pino Sylvestre. I'm a big fan of masculine woody fragrances and own a lot of them. I can tell you this is not a clone of Sylvestre. I just got my bottle delivered last week and I know the scent of the Pino and they aren't in the same ballpark at all. And HOTDUECE comment is just a troll post too. This does not smell anything like a simple "pine scent" or like pine sol or a cleaning product. This scent is special. It really does put you in the middle of a forest with chilly mountain air. I don't know how they did it, but its true and I can't describe it. Most woody forest scents go dark or like damp woods, but this is bright and fresh and very unique. Nothing else I have smelled is like it. And all the "fragrances" that they trolled with where it says "this perfume remind me of" is all hot garbage... well a HOT DEUCE. This does not smell like axe body spray or like after shaves. And this is an atom bomb of a perfume- longevity and sillage are huge. Lasted all day on my skin. And no, not a "shill" here. I just know what I like and this one is top tier. Stay Blessed.

Sometimes I seriously wonder if people even know what they are smelling, or are just shooting from the hip here. I seriously have to question the legitimacy of some of these comments. There is nothing aquatic about this perfume, and certainly not a clone of anything else. And people want to get stuck on silly naming conventions of fragrance... you can name a fragrance literally anything and it doesn’t matter. There’s perfumes called “This is not a blue bottle” for crying out loud... Means absolutely nothing. So for this brand to name “clean mountain air accord” or “Sasquatch footprint accord”, it’s clearly just something quirky and for fun. Absolutely nothing linear about this fragrance, in fact I don’t think I’ve experienced a fragrance that changes and has more depth than this one. This is one of the most natural smelling things I have smelled. The amount of naturals in here is absurd. I think the brand said this is like 75% natural ingredients and you most certainly can tell. I came across this brand in the online fragrance groups, purchased this with my own money. I never made an account here before that, but I really feel like there are some people here that just love to troll. Stay blessed.

I don’t personally know the person who made this fragrance, but bought it when it was released when seeing it in a FB fragrance group. This is an honest review, so just wanted to say that after seeing some comments. Nice “green freshie” scent. The cypress is obvious but it’s not a Christmasy type scent or a bitter green kind of green, more of an aromatic fresh green. I don’t get smokiness in this despite the listed note. Not animalic either as far as categorizing it but there is something that adds to the green aromatic quality that makes it enjoyable in a different way. There is a smoothness to it also, possibly from the patcholi listed, but far from a patchouli frag. Not something I’d put in an established category like Fougere or Chypre for example, kind of one that’s a combo of categories. Overall solid fragrance with moderate + projection and longevity.

A fantastic photorealistic forest scent, brings me back to memories of going on vacation when I was young to the Sierra Nevada mountains. All the pines, spruce, cypress. Although I think this is traditionally a masculine fragrance, there is a freshness to it that I think actually makes it very unisex. To each their own obviously, but I am enjoying wearing this. And do not worry about the castoreum and civet, I do not really even notice it, not really a perceivable note. This is all about the greens and woods and ozonic nature. Transports you to the middle of the Sierra Nevadas! And whoever the trolls are below that are hating on this, I highly doubt they have smelled this because this does not smell like a toilet cleaner, or Axe body spray. Some people should really get a life.

Amazing winter cold weather forest scent. Exactly what I have been looking for! I own HJ Soudain and this is the same level quality with the naturals used and also the pine tree woodiness. And that’s saying something comparing to my beloved Henry Jacques!! I’m so happy that I have this now, so I can use this to scratch that itch when I want to wear this type of fragrance. So I don’t have to break the bank using m HJ haha. Honestly, I think they should be charging a lot more for Into the Wild than what they do. I’ll definitely be checking out the perfumers other work.

This fragrance takes you on a real journey into the wild. The name is perfect for what it is. Imagine walking through the wilderness and encountering various smells of the wild brush as you make your way deeper and deeper down the trail. This is not a one dimensional fragrance and really tells a vivid story throughout the drydown. This is just as vivid of a depiction as a fine painting would be. You can smell the various foliage change just by turning your head. Very well done

Got mine a few weeks ago. The first time i sprayed this, the fragrance made its presence known quickly (a little overwhelming if your not expecting it but in a good way) . It has this piney greenness that i really liked and I definitely picked up on the oak moss and some animatics in the dry down. Great unique frag for everyday.

Fresh, green and perfect for late Fall, Winter and early Spring imo. Outdoorsy, but versatile and a photorealistic journey through the drydown - not linear in the least bit. Fantastic first release from the house.

Wow. Got mine delivered few days ago and it was love at first smell. Definitely unique and green fresh. The dry down is amazing with a delicious oak moss. Only thing I wish there was a more Castoreum. 5/5.

I adore this scent. It’s serenity and tranquility in a bottle. Perfect for meditation or a cup of tea in peace and quiet.

I bought this about a month ago and I really like it. I recommend this in the spring or fall. It's great on a cool day. I can see how some people might compare this to an 80s powerhouse fragrance or even a pine car freshener, but to me it really does give me that clean pine forest vibe. My only negative is that I wish they'd up the woody notes. It's heavy on the pine needles but a bit light on that smell of tree bark I love. It does come out in the dry down, but I wish there was a bit more of it in the opening. Try the 10 ml bottle if you're unsure.

I see there are a lot of hardcore defenders in the comments, but as someone who is neutral, does not know the perfumer, and bought it because it sounded interesting I have to say... It does smell a lot like pine sol. I've let it evolve over the day, it's on skin (not paper), and even so it's a pretty overwhelming pine sol scent. It's sweeter than I thought based on the notes, sort of lemon pine fresh. I don't hate it by any means, but a true forest scent this is not.

You must love the scent of cedar and pine. Very aromatic, like fresh cut cedar. It’s not a dark woodsy scent but bright resinous fragrance

Very very green. Gives off a very natural smelling Irish spring soap to me, or Aventus’ very very green pineapple free cousin. It has a barbershop background to it. More fern than forest to me. I do pick up the ozonic aldehydes, especially in the opening but it stays bright and airy throughout. There’s a lot going on in the base in a good way that keeps this thing interesting. Overall impression: green. 6.5/10 but with a big bias, i don’t like herbs and I hate creed, but if you like creed or very green scents, I think you’ll really like this. I was hoping for more pine & other woods compared to how herbaceous this is.

Not sure about this. One of those frags where you really have to search for its depths, if they exist, as it’s a pretty linear experience. It seemed like something I’d enjoy wearing from the note listing but I’m struggling to get past the clean toilet vibe. Shame as it seemed so promising.. Note: if you want a real spring forest experience I’d suggest Eiderantler as it’s a lot more intriguing.

Fantastic opening of fresh green forest goodness. Performance is where it fell apart for me as it became a skin scent way too soon. The sillage was arms length for the first 2 hours, then it quicky faded away. Seasonal wear for daytime spring would be perfect for Into the Wild.

Opening is slightly different but the dry-down is almost perfect match to Mousse Illuminee. Why this is 3.88 and MI is 4.39/5 is because fragrantica. Have a good day!

Oh dear. This one is unfortunate—and this comes as such an surprise from the otherwise virtuoso Darren Alan. Perhaps this had more to do with being under the creative direction of the Statik Olfactive brand, and maybe their input and "fine tuning," but the opening smells so functional and nothing to be expected from a perfume. The attempt of an ozonic accord seems the grave error here. At one point, I am reminded of Snuggle fabric softener. Eventually, this eases into something more coherent, resembling more of what our beloved perfumer is capable of creating. The attempt at creating "clean mountain air" dissolves into a more grounded, if sensible, approach of a smoky forest retreat, only held back by the lingering effects of the calone-ish, laundramat vapor of its opening. Please do not let this discourage you from seeking out Darren Alan's other works—his releases under his own brand are consistently brilliant.

First, please know that this fragrance is the epitome of niche and I won’t take anything away from its execution or delivery, it is what it is: a super photorealistic snapshot of forest wilderness. The animalics sit safely in the background but what prevents me from liking this is the overwhelming white floral and conifer note. The smell immediately bought me back to a fragrance that turned me away from a brand completely. This fragrance is Fathom V by BeauFort London. The white florals in this one just doesn’t play well with my senses. It sits in my nose and screams... loud. Both fragrances burn my eyes in a way, maybe I’m allergic to certain white florals? One has Lily ( not a fan, reminds me of funeral florals) and the other has Honeysuckle and both have a pollen smell.👃 I look forward to trying Statik’s next scent.

10 ml arrived today, disappointing. The ‘clean mountain air’ accord doesn’t work at all, very unnatural in my opinion. Maybe could be described in a dismissive manner as a thin Mousse Illuminee.

Wanted to very much like this. Unfortunately, it smells like pine sol, straight up. A very high quality perhaps organic version of it, but very astringent pine cleaner scent pervades.

Smells like a new pair of Nikes. Not really digging this one. 3/10

What an olfactive journey this took me on. 2 sprays of this will transport you to a spring afternoon outdoors cleaning pine trees with pine sol and a wire brush. The end. 1.5/10 is an honest review. Seems the creators have sent their shills to hype this horrendous creation. Devonh with multiple posts is clearly here patroling this page in an effort to mislead you and extract your hard earned money to please her masters. TOILET CLEANER VIBES...................Someone sent me a sample of “Into the Wild” from Statik Olfactive, it was pretty awful, and completely unoriginal. It’s like a low-rent copy of Haxan from Prissana/Sloth from Zoologist, but devoid of soul and smooth blending. Do you think the dummies that produced this dreck thought they were making something original? Could they be that foolish to not know this was essentially a bad clone of Haxan/Sloth? Even the name is not original. 💯 🤡 💩

Something went seriously wrong here. Screeching, searing pine combined with an eye-watering bleach aroma. Smells like you forgot to read the instructions on your floor cleaner and didn't dilute the solution 1:10. Nauseating.

Into the Wild delivers on what it promises and a high bar was definitely set by the brand’s founder Chris. It is among the absolute best most transportive forest fragrances available and it’s a delight to have this as part of my collection. The opening is peak ozonic mountain air and immediately puts you in a different headspace with the incredible layers underneath. What an opening but really every phase of the fragrance is engaging and makes you fall in love with it, truly a fragrance made for fragheads. It’s structured unlike anything else I’ve smelled, the realistic enveloping animalic facets intertwined with the lush realistic greenness but executed in a very palatable manner with very light sweet nuances that peek out. It actually reminds me of something a house like Zoologist would release. Excited to see what’s in store for the future of Statik Olfactive if this is any indication! Going to bed wearing the fragrance my fiancé snuggled up to me and her last words before drifting off to sleep were “you smell good.” Great work on this one I can’t say it enough. **Some layers I’ve tried with it that I’ve loved: Commodity Moss+, PdM Greenley, G&B Bohemian Lime, Thomas Kosmala No2 Seve Nouvelle, and most interesting so far Mugler Angel EdT.

I love Darren Alan’s work but this is not good and doubt it’s his fault. Not a good direction. The supposed ozone accord is more like an aquatic calone note. The greens and woods smell so very synthetic and void of life. Feels like there is no base. It is eternally fresh and aquatic. I was intrigued because Darren makes some of the best all natural fragrances out there at the moment. I have a feeling had Darren made this for his brand it would be stellar.

I gotta be honest here. This was a huge let down for me. It must be my skin or something. This was nothing but aldehydes on me. I mean like just 1 aldehyde alone. I got no florals or woods or anything. The only upside is that it lasted a long time. There was nothing else going on here for me. I was very disappointed.

Conifer-Specific Scent with camphor (like Vicks), clean and dirty forest. Someone mentioned that Into the Wild smells like Irish Spring soap, and I agree. If you're a fan of Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, you'll enjoy Into the Wild. I feel Into the Wild is more interesting than Paco Rabanne Pour Homme.

A really green fresh fragrance. I enjoy it. Smells like clean mountain air, But at the same time I get a cleaning aerosol vibe from it. Other then that, decent fragrance
