Oud 777

Oud 777 is hands down the best perfume by the house of Stephane Humbert Lucas. I'm not a fan of the house, but this right here, is something special. More so than O Hira. It does share some similarities with O Hira, but the latter is more Labdanum centered, with very soft woods in the background. Here, the woods take center stage, and the resins, mostly labdanum, support from behind. This perfume showcases one of the best and true-to-life Oud Accords that I have come across in commercial perfumes. I would not be surprised if there's real Oud in this. Not barnyard or fermented, just a beautiful earthy, antique, dusty, leathery oud. Starts off with a blast of earthy, leathery oud, a very dry and antique smell. Beautiful opening and quite strong. Soon after that, the resins start creeping in, mellowing the woody aspects, together with some spices, dried fruits, and smoke. As it develops all the mentioned notes coalesce to become a leathery, smokey, resinous accord that lingers for a long time with a soft and perceptible sillage. What I love most about the Oud Accord in this is that it has a very antique wood, old wood type of aroma to it. Like an old wooden chest. It's dry, dusty, old smelling. This is my favorite type of Oud accord, and very hard to come by. Paired with the ladanum it creates this ancient aroma that is just intoxicating. Aside from the Antique Wood Accord, there is also a leather accord, a boozy/liquor accord, dried fruits, and smoke. Like sitting in an ancient castle library, sipping on fine liquor, eating dried fruits, on leather chairs, and smoking shisha. A very special perfume, and incredibly well put together, truly intoxicating aroma longing to the Orient.

What can I buy with 500 dollars? Floor Seats at a Basketball Game, A Roundtrip Ticket, Furniture from Pier One and apparently Oud 777...Stephane Lucas's Oud offering is a double agent for sure. Part reeky and part savory. The short lived reeky opening of Oud 777 is impossible to ignore and better reserved for a living organism other than a human being. The flagrant stench reminded me of hay mixed with the felt lining used in board games. From the rubble waves a white flag of saccharine labdanum and syrupy oud. The fragrance could easily have been named Labdanum 777. One thing that's inescapable is the wildlife characteristic ever so present throughout the entire duration. Leather fans may be disappointed to learn that the sought after note is unexpressive. You will likely get caught up in your own deception as you convince your mind that something hide-like is present. Does Oud 777 smell like $500? Well..most perfumes with this kind of unconventionality tend to be pricey, so the answer is likely yes. Smell and value are two different things. You can be the judge for the value. Smell-wise, not better than Black Gemstone but I'd give it a B+

My god what a find! this is a majestic creation! The note breakdown here is the official one from SHL, but there is much much more to this perfume than what is mentioned. For starters it has a load of dark notes..smoke (smoky as hell), leather, tobacco, oud and a bit of booze. There is also a deep resiness feel to it. Comes across like a heavy dessert in the opening, cinnamon is noticeable to me, while tonka sweetens thing up a bit and gives a powdery facet. Slightly animalic at the opening but nothing crazy. Overall this perfume is not to be taken lightly or to be dismissed based on the name, this is a work of art in my books ... a big dose of nosegasm heaven. Very close to Tom Ford's Tobacco Oud, but unfortunately it is discontinued like Tobacco Oud! maybe something in the DNA of these perfumes that does not appeal to buyers? Luckily though i managed to scoop a new Oud 777 bottle for a good price,, will be the new star of my upcoming special occasions.

من هردوی اوهیرا و عود استفن هامبرت لوکاس از شقایق یک خریدم و اوهیرا تموم کردم اما عود هنوز ازش دارم. شاهکار واقعی اند هردو و بهترین کارهای این خانه.تقریبا تمام کارهای این خانه را خریده ام و از برند دیگه اش سوعود هم نور دارم و بقیه تست کردم. اما شباهت عود به اوهیرا انصافا سطحی ست اگرچه نمیگم شبیه نیستند و خوب سی درصدی شباهت دارند منتهی اوهیرا رودخانه ای که مثل کارون سطح آرام اما کف بسیار خروشان و سختی داره با کلی جريانات ریز و درشت. عود اما انصافا به بهترین شکل آقای افشار توصیفش کردن و بیشتر چیزی که گفتن نمیشه گفت. فقط من یکی موندم چرا چندبار سلیل د جده را خریدم منتهی از این دو کار بک آپ نگرفتم؟ بعد این دو تاکلامکان عالیه و بدترین هم قطعا قم و خلدبحرین

. ی کم زیادی مهربونه در برابر عودهای افیونی و اسرار امیز. این عود هامبرت لوکاس دقیقا رایحه دود حاصل از سوختن اگار وود پاک شده رو داره اینسنس عود واقعی در کنار رایحه چرم دباغی شده بسیار لوکس و تمیز فاقد حس چرک و انیمالیک. خیلی شاهانه و کلاسیه . ابدا حس حرمی و معنوی نداره. شروعی بسیار فاخر از رایحه عود کمی سبز کمی اسپایسی کمی فروتی . قلب عطر تا انتها در کنار چرم تمیز کمی حس صابونی داره ولی خشک و اسموکی نیست. همین روند تا ساعتها بدون تغییر ادامه داره تا مرگ رایحه پخش بوی ملایم و ماندگاری خیلی عالی روی پوست بدون تخریب رایحه. به جرات اگر از قیمتش چشمپوشی بشه کرد یکی از فاخر ترین عطرهایست که محوریت عودی داره.

I blind bought an almost full bottle of this from ebay for a really good price and it absolutely blew me away. This stuff is simply magnificent.... It is without a doubt the best fragrance I've ever owned. The opening of this is quite animalic... a bit barn-yardy but I love it. Once it dries down this settles a bit then the lovely warmth of the tonka comes in. I think I've found the 'one'. I think this is getting quite hard to get now, possibly discontinued. If you're into thick & heavy oud-based frags with great lasting power, you should try and get a hold of this amber beauty if you get the chance!

بوی عودی تاریک و تلخی داره.بوی چرم در آن خشکی و تاریکی خاصی داده.کمی چرم دودی هست نه زیاد.بهمراه ادویه .کاری کاملا شرقی و بسیار قوی با ماندگاری بالایی داره. Ohiraرو رو یه دستم زدم Oud رو رو دست دیگم.الن بعد 7 ساعت عود قویتر از اوهیرا هست

A dense and bold Oud-based animalic, this polarizing masterpiece from Stephane Humbert Lucas is a gorgeous blend of two types of Oud from Burma and Laos with leather, animalic accords and a slight hint of tonka bean. The masculine leaning scent has good projection/sillage and longevity. It also has an enormous animalic opening that could be off putting to most people not used to Laotian Oud. The animalic qualities of Laotian Oud are further enhanced by leather and animalic notes. Will be enjoyed by brave animalic and Oud lovers. Enjoy!

Smells similar to Serge Lutens Arabie, but maybe (more) woody with a little bit of a honeyed backbone to it. If you like Arabie, you might like this. If you hate Arabie, you might hate this.. haha.

People who say there is no oud in here don't know what real oud smells like. No, there's no Montale oud. But there is oud most definitely. A complex and deep scent.

I had high hopes for this fragrance. today i just tried it and it wasn't that pleased about it. i've loved Stephane's creations to the max and most of his 777's creations will be in my wardrobe, but this one beside Omma, aren't one of them yet! my nose and passion may change through time and i go loving this one day (as what have happened with O'Hira). at the beginning it wasn't that waw essence, as it was kind of harsh and weird smell at the same time. it was kind of Henna smell (Yemen & Omani Style) mixed with dried lemons (lumi) and maybe a bit of agarwood as i remember smelling such note from one of my friends who is an amazing oud freak as he goes picking agarwood (bokhoor - the oud wood) precisely and accurately one by one when buying, but i don't recall the name, so as long as that guy has it then it is truly oud. after calming down, it turns dramatically to O'Hira but with a major hand on hand of the essence of Yemen Henna which is sweet and harsh at the same time. quite strong and powerful long lasting. not for me at the time being, i'll try it again and will see about it

Like O Hira, this is a resin-driven affair. It’s every bit as delicate and polished, retaining the same degree of earthy interest, but as far as oud goes, this one’s very similar to Creed’s Royal Oud in that the oud is really not there at all—at least in relation to Western synthetic ouds or even Eastern authentic ones. What you get instead is a lot of labdanum, myrrh, some frankincense, and some spices over a smooth, balmy base. When placed into the context of its brethren (other spendy lines such as Clive Christian, Roja Dove etc.), I find that the 777 resins are superior, dealing a more subtle and nuanced hand. There’s a bit of a Norma Kamali Incense feel to this, and that’s a scent that many find to be a challenge, so I’m not sure this will have the same impact of the more crowd-pleasing offerings from the likes of Christian and Dove. Furthermore, this isn’t a loud scent; it sits politely on the skin and doesn’t have that many layers of complexity. There’s depth to the materials themselves, but the scent doesn’t do any backflips or pack any surprises. And so, once more, my concern is the same as that of O Hira: the price. I rarely talk about price in my reviews as it’s a totally subjective thing, but this is again quite outlandish. The materials are very nice, the composition is smooth and refined, but there’s nothing going on here that’s really worthy of the cost. Even the best resinous absolutes and extractions are not that expensive, and that’s what forms the majority of this composition. What made O Hira so pricey was the fossilized amber (again, not that expensive a material), but this really is just labdanum, myrrh, and some spices—there’s very little else to it. It’s lovely for what it is—nuanced, subtle, mysterious—but I imagine that the kind of people who drop this kind of money on perfume are the kind of people who want to be sure that every knows about it, and this is not going to accomplish that effect. It’s just handful of basic resins, nicely put together, and that’s it. An oudless oud, but we’re all used to that by now.

The fragrance already starts with a large dose of incensed leathery animalic oud adding to a leather hit that is dominant in this fragrance, and also has the sweetness of a very vanilla nuance of tonka, this is the tripod the 3 pillars of this composition that intertwines with a smoky aromatic tabacado accord reminding me of the traditional Arabic shishá (hookah). Which continues to mix in my view with dense dark balsamic amber resins with emphasis on a very noticeable obscure labdanum, and I also feel dried fruits, something like date very evident also resulting in an arabesque perfume, warm and dark, leathery and woody, resinous very balsamic, delicious sweet. 'Oud present and in evidence throughout evolution, but it is leather that is dominant in the fragrance. It would be more fitting if it were called Leather 777! Unfortunately it was discontinued; a gem with very good performance. SHL Root! From the time when Stéphane H. Lucas created true arabesque compositions.

One of the gems in my collection.am so glad I have it.am so impressed with with this house:such an enormous creativity . As an Arab I can hardly believe how can a French perfumer create such a masterpiece that would compete and excel over the most popular oriental perfumes , just incredible . As a OUD lover I would say this is a true gem.I would recommend it for oud lovers as for non oud lovers or oud beginners I think u may find it strong , suffocating..as for me I adore it and it’s actually addictive I can’t stop smelling myself whenever am wearing it .enjoy the compliments I would get if u wear it😉

Why frankensense and resins aren’t on the pyramid or mentioned here is beyond me. Heavy oud, a backbone of incense that becomes more pronounced as the oud fades back in to the dry down, and a small dash of leather and tonka. Longevity is strong but sillage diminshes substantially after just about 2hrs, as with most 777s and natural(ish) fragrances in my experience. Beautiful, natural smelling and refined. I love it and feel good when I put it on. If you’ve got it, spend it.

Unfortunately, this beautiful fragrance has been discontinued. Perfumer Stéphane Humbert Lucas stated that some of the ingredients he used in this fragrance include luxurious oud, Burmese oud, Laotian oud, a blend of leather, and tonka bean. This unique, exotic, animalic, leathery, ambery, and earthy scent, along with some undisclosed ingredients, such as amber labdanum, myrrh, and frankincense.

فوق العادست... بویی عودی و چوبی بسیار عالی که در تلفیق با هم بویی بسیار شیک و تلخ رو به مشامتان رهنمون میکنه وبدون شک یکی از شاهکارهایی که بر پایه عوود هست.. ماندگاری کم نظیر و پخش بوی خوبی داره.. ولی به نسبت قیمت بالای یک میلیون حجمی 50 میل دار... ولی بوش واااقعا خاص و حرفه ایه.

If you ever been to morocco & had those cookies with dates in it, well this is how Oudh 777 smells to me. Dates/burned sugar and a hint of tobacco. The scent is not bad, always respected Stéphane Humbert Lucas & still do...but the the name of this one is misleading.

I bought this on a whim, YUK! terrible fragrance. Nice Bottle is the kindest thing I can say.
