Panthea Iris

This has been the most challenging perfume for me of what I have. I sprayed it a lot outside and I hoped that something would happen. I put in on sale after trying it few times but fortunately I set the price so high that no one bought it. 😂 After many months I took it from the box and sprayed it on my clothes (tried earlier as well) and I was totally surprised! It started to bloom and shine in the way how people who love it describe it. 💙 Panthea Iris is astonishing beautiful no doubt. It’s powdery, subtle, a little bit soapy Iris. It’s elegant, refined and a little bit paltry but in the same time it feels luxurious. It’s not buttery or creamy Iris, it’s clear, airy and dry and there is something melancholic in it. The scent is not complex and it doesn’t change so much from the opening until the dry down but it’s not bad at all in this case. It performs in the best way on clothes and I picked up one of my favorite evening dresses which I made maybe 20 years ago for celebrating Finnish Independence Day (the holes for my arms has modified bigger since that 💪🏽 😅 ) and I still wear it every Independence Day. Divine Serenity 🧘🌬️ Panthea Iris is a flanker of the original Panthea from the house of SHL. To understand this fragrance I will briefly talk about the original Panthea first. I adore the smell of Panthea which is very pure and delicate. Panthea is a beautiful representation for "The scent of Heaven". Powdery Iris accompanied by all subtle notes of white jasmine combined with delicate dewy and green notes from white tea and violet . I guess Panthea can be called as the skin scent of the Goddess. It is almost non perfumy but has an enchanting smells when get closed to the wearer. I love wearing Panthea when I want to enjoy the smells of my surroundings without feeling naked of not wearing perfume. Panthea Iris has all the ingredients of Panthea enriched by notes of patchouli and iris butter in the base. The iris absolute composition is also been amped up and very pronounce here. All these additions resulting in more perfumy smelling than the original. Iris as the highlight feels more powdery, the dewy and creamy nuance is also very noticeable. It gives the wearer feeling of divine serenity. That's why I love wearing this to bed because it slow down my mind and body state into a calm being. Do you have a spesific fragrance for bedtime? Comparing FREDERIC MALLE: Iris Poudre Pierre Bourdon (2000) and STÉPHANE HUMBERT LUCAS: Panthea Iris (2019) (Review made earlier) These two clear, sophisticated and soapy scents are in the same category. Both has a clean white musky base and they are very subtle, elegant and refined. They are airy and dry. They are powdery but it’s rather sharp and cold powder than soft and warm compared to those “baby vibe” powdery scents. Iris Poudre is even colder and drier than Panthea Iris. There is a lot of aldehydes in IP and it creates a frosty, super fresh and bright nuances. In Panthea Iris there are pink berries in the top notes which gives a hint of the sweetness to the scent and Orris butter in the base softens the whole concoction a little bit. Do I need the both? Yes. The opening & heart of Panthea Iris showcases the real powdery elegance of violets wrapped in rich unadulterated iris butter displaying an aura of sophistication with a vintage flare that is nearly impossible to put into words, something you will no longer find in today’s perfumery for the most part, the depth of the composition throughout the wearing is unmatched, the sweetness of tonka and the sensuality of musk in the base dressing the elegant floral arrangement further reinforces the robust fragrance that can only be described as the perfect work of art. A fascinating formula that unifies vintage and modern , elegance and seduction all in one.

How many times are there violent storms that seem to never end and scare us? But then, as if by magic, everything calms down and the rainbow appears. The ancient Greeks identified this beautiful phenomenon with the deity Iris. Beautiful, graceful even though she was the sister of the harpies. A great transposition that can be made to life. Panthea Iris is a wonderful fragrance, with a much more accentuated Iris than Panthea, from the same brand, powdery, very elegant, with a citrusy and sparkling opening. The Iris that makes me rev up. This is one of the few perfumes I've chosen as a reference for Iris. Like other quality Iris perfumes, it has a high level of Alpha Iron. The opening is powdery. It quickly becomes soft and creamy on the skin within half an hour. I wouldn't say its longevity and sillage are very strong. Its performance on fabric is quite good, but its sillage is still poor. Don't let the powdery, somewhat sharp opening fool you; it's definitely a warm Iris perfume. Suitable for unisex use, but I found this one more feminine. I think Iris perfumes like Aedes de Venustas Iris Nazarena suit men more 💜💯

Panthea Iris is a love at first sniff for me (and I thought I hated iris in perfumes). Panthea Iris feels airy, light, and weightless; iris and tonka bean are masterfully combined. The iris is beautiful, not lipsticky, it gives a slight touch of powderiness, but only a touch, and then I smell musk, a pinch of tobacco, and tonka beans. This pefurme is not linear and it evolves as time passes; in the very deep dry down (6h+) I cannot smell the iris anymore, but it becomes a deliciously sweet skin scent. Very elegant, graceful, classy. Great longevity and good projection.

Look I didn’t see an iris with tobacco combined like how this is combined, this isn’t a clean fragrance even though the iris is the hero in here, but creamy iris with a smooth touch of tobacco in the background violetly enough with sandal wood and well well blended, pure and sophisticated and luxurious presence. You gotta enjoy it from the opening to the base really recommend it, of course it’s unisex... Smell 9.5 Silage 9 Longevity 9

I love this. It's absolutely beautiful and elegant. The beginning is very feminine but on the dry down, it gets more unisex so I'm fine with wearing it. I genuinely think this can be worn any season, any time of day. If you're looking for a soft, buttery, wonderful Iris fragrance you'd be hard-pressed to find something better than this. Longevity and sillage are both impressive as well. SHL knocked it out of the park with this one.

I hate iris in perfumes but this one made me love it😍 What a gorgeous, luxurious smelling juice . This fragrance is giving me a picture of young successful woman, full professional but sexy same time . Extremely powerful in performance and very likeable. A must try for all perfume lovers ( even those ones who hates iris like myself).

The sillage from this fragrance is gorgeous. Smooth, elegant iris. It's a love for me.

Initially alluring iris snagged me in for an expensive experiment ... but its very violet middle, and rather uninspiring end, let me off the high-priced hook here. As someone who'd always steered clear of SHL's Dubai-bling aesthetic and prices I had never expected to be charmed by their take on classy flowers, but a stray sniff in a niche perfumery in Seville made me spring for a proper sample of this to see how it would do over the course of a day. The answer: the very considerable charms of its lovely orris-buttery beginning don't hang on for long enough to justify the full fare. It's sweet and amiable and never obnoxious, but those violet notes do get a bit over-powdery and over-cute once the first orris effect ebbs away. The bottom end is sweet but not cloying, and nicely mellow and low-key, always a major plus - but PG's lovely Iris Oriental/Taizo kind of won my heart already in this quadrant, and if this whole semi-gourmand iris was my goal, then Christian Provenzano Iris d'Orient does it even more sweetly and strongly. This is quieter and more discreet (not necessarily bad!) but dries down to skin scent only in under 4 hours (which isn't great.) So: close - but couldn't quite waft me over the finish line with enough true ecstasy to convince. Pleasant, but not amazing.

I didn't expect it to smell like this! This leans somewhat femme, for mine, but overall it has just the right balance and base to it to make it appealing for me. There's a bit of a fizz going on, possibly some iso-e, or something else, and it's actually working WITH the iris-violet instead of overshadowing it. I'm gonna need to give this more time and possibly a dedicated day, as I'm finding myself ummming and ahhhhing a bit. I need more time with this... ***EDIT*** Trying this one on again, and it has a wonderful parma violet scent quality to it. It's sweet and candy-licious! It does have a hefty iso-e like quality behind it, but for what it's worth, it actually adds to it quite well. Big fan. Big BIG big fan... ***EDIT*** It's almost 18 months since I wrote the first part, and a lot has changed -- A bit on the sickly-sweet side of things. There is a floral sweetness that is prevalent, which isn’t much of a problem for me, it’s that there isn’t anything else really going on, it feels like a candle scent more than a perfume. Nope.

This is a very different perfume and somewhat unique to me as i hardly test violet based perfumes. I blind bought it and can see how it will be hard for someone like me to pull if off. Fresh citrus not zingy with a lot of violet, iris purple notes. Very nice and uplifting opening. It is powdery and has a creamy slightly sweet dry down with the purple notes. More suitable for a confident, elegant mature women who can easily carry something like this. I would love to smell this on someone i know but this is not for me but nothing less than brilliant perfumery.

this was so close! top notes: powdery that's makeup like sweet, water notes, white floral and woody middle notes: sweet (candy), powdery, watery, very subtle base notes: i dont think it even reached here, poor performance enjoyed this fragrance! really wished it performed, had a lot of potential. 8.5/10

The iris here feels buttery and strong, while the overall perfume is as soft and airy as powdered sugar. It’s as if one force is pulling everything down (dense and grounded) while another wants to make it float and scatter in the air. The initial patchouli and citrus intensity fades toward the drydown, leaving a makeup-powder finish. It’s hard not to like, yet having a bottle of Apollania, it’s one I can easily overlook. There’s also a distinct candied violet presence, joined by tonka which makes the fragrance "sweet". Patchouli-sensitive noses beware; it’s subtle, but it’s there. I wanted to love this, but couldnt. I love a nice iris fragrance, but this was way to realistic iris to me. Also very powdery and smells a bit like a place where they sell flowers. I had to scrub this off

So glad I didn't blind buy this. It smells to me as though there is patchouli in the base, although it's not listed, and that ruins the accord for me.

Too feminine for my taste, and very soft sillage. Next

Panthea Iris by Stéphane Humbert Lucas is an excellent interpretation of iris. The opening will be appreciated by true Iris lovers, because it is all about iris, I detect a tiny amount of tangerine in the opening but I don’t detect any bergamot. As the fragrance settles, I detect small amounts of powdery violet but the Iris is still the main player. The Iris here is beautiful and balanced, it is not carroty as some iris fragrances tend to be and not too lipsticky. The fragrance drydown into a musky base, with some sweetness from the tonka and some tobacco. Overall, Panthea iris is powdery, floral with musky base. The longevity is average which is expected in this type of fragrances but the scent is really good.

The correct notes for this fragrance (according to the official site): Top notes: Pink Berries [pink pepper] - Italian Bergamot and Tangerine - White Tea Middle notes: Iris Absolute - Jasmine - Violet Base notes: White Musk - Tonka bean - Sandalwood - Patchouli - Iris butter "Tobacco" is not officially listed - either for this one or the OG Panthea. And, FYI, there IS patchouli in both of them - despite not being listed/discolosed (as a note) in the OG. Whenever you see POGOSTEMON CABLIN OIL on the ingredient list - that's patchouli (and might have been used to create that "tobacco" note).

Best Iris ever. IMHO. In perfumery, this is the most striking, clean, professional, soapy, classy scent based centrally around the Iris note. Gorgeous opening, of dense iris that smells very luxurious with just touch of uplifting citruses that soon progresses to light florals, blended beautifully, and the musky clean sandalwood in the dry down, moderately sweet, lasts a long time, seems perfect for upscale occasions, a true masterpiece from SHL

not favourite take on iris, even though I generally enjoy it. Very retro pomade, almost plasticky sweet, with a waxy, vinyl-like quality and a strong carrot undertone. fits well with SHL’s style, but it’s not for me. over time, becomes less iris-y and more sweet-chalky with a strong "fluffy" violet heart. altho powdery, it feels more like sweet chalk rather than musks or powder. very dry-chalky, sweet, and retro-pomade- heavy.

This is the best Iris dominant fragrance on the market. This is better than Dior Homme, but only in terms of being known as a predominantly Iris-driven fragrance. Because this fragrance is so good in one aspect that it makes Dior Homme shine even more. Dior Homme is so beautifully crafted in more dimensions than just Iris. Do you know what I mean?

Buttery orris root type of iris....smells like a knife cutting through butter...but the butter is orris / iris. It's dior homme intense, but for woman...more feminine, powdery and floral. And obviously retains the same lipstick iris but just more buttery and smooth Not a mens fragance at all, not even unisex. Completely feminine.

The tangerine in this perfume has this candied smell to it, candied or an orange liqueur, definitely a booziness to it. Wouldn’t describe it as a fresh tangerine. I can see why people would be reminded of Gris Dior, but they definitely are not similar on side by side testing. This fragrance is borderline gourmand

The opening is beautiful! Iris and white flowers, then citruses. After 15 minutes dries down to generic modern women’s perfume, musk with coumarin and some earthy notes. It’s sweet and inoffensive. Not worth the high price, in my opinion. Upt. It does give me the vibes of Coco mademoiselle in the drydown.

Fragrance is very feminine and it’s an excellent interpretation of iris. However, the performance is bad. Projection and sillage are low. Longevity is good as a skin scent. Not worth the price imo

At first I thought it was like dior homme intense, but after trying Gris Dior i'm certain this is like 90% Gris Dior but just doesn't have the fruity opening that Gris dior does

Very nice Iris and would be an easy grab in a lot of situations.
