Qom Chilom

«یک گیلاس نوشیدنی سرخ» شروع قم چیلوم فوق العاده اس هجوم بادام تلخ و یه جیر نسبتا شیرین با غلظت مهار شده ای از زعفران سوخته و لاستیک داغ شده در کنار فضای الکلی دودی و خاکسترآلود برام بسیار عجیبه که استفان هامبرت این کارشو با الهام از یک شهر ایرانی عطاری کرده ولی هیچ ریویویی توسط ایرانیان و فارسی زبانان ثبت نشده حالا بماند که پیدا نیست عطار محترم این کار رو با چه دیدگاهی خلق کرده چرا که به عنوان یک ایرانی مشابهت و مطابقتی بین فضای عطر و شهر قم پیدا نکردم البته همونطور که گفتم هیچ شباهتی ، در حالیکه انگار تمامی عناصر این کار در مقابل و در تضاد با حال و هوای این شهر کهن قرار گرفته است... اینجا عود هر چقدر حضورش محوریه ولی کمرنگه‌ و به نظره من کمک می کنه تا فضای دارویی بالزامیکی تشدید بشه و رایحه میانی مزه ی قره قروتی تلخ و تاریک پیدا کنه و سایه روشن جالبی در تضاد با یه تمشک بسیار خوشمزه و مربایی و شیرین ایجاد بشه ، حالت چوبی اسموکی و لاستیکی که حس خیلی خوشایندی برام داره در حاشیه قرار می گیره ولی همچنان حضور داره ، ناخودآگاه یاد کارمن بیزه هیستواغ افتادم به خصوص اینکه هر دو تلاششون رو برای ایجاد و القای حسی از رنگ سرخ کرده ان که به نظر من استفان هامبرت کمی موفق تر بوده کار بگونه ای طراحی شده که انگار تمامی نت های قم چیلوم در لحظه ای که اسپری می کنین به یکباره حضور پیدا می کنند و در ادامه مدام با یکدیگر جابه جا می شن با توجه به اسم این کار این برداشت می شه که قم چیلوم فضای شدیدا تنباکویی و دودی شبیه به رایحه قلیان و وافور و ... داشته باشه در صورتی که به نظر من اینطور نیست و در ادامه کم کم رایحه در بستری چوبی مشکی و کمی پودری کرمی و وانیلی ملایم می شه و در کنارش حالت ترش و شیرین تمشک خودنمایی می کنه اگر اشتباه نکنم دارچین و رز هم در بازآفرینی فضای اسپایسی مشروبی عطر دخیل هستن باوری کهنه به ردای سرخ بر تن شیطان و در مقابل شهری مذهبی که از گذشته میزبان زرتشتیان و پس از آن اسلام بوده است ، جنگی تن به تن ، هم آغوشی شیطان و الهه ها در اتمسفری شرقی عربی و در عین حال مدرن ، کانسپتی که برای رایحه ، رنگ سرخ شیشه و نگین فیروزه ای رنگ آن می شه متصور شد. شروع گیلاسی و پر شور و شهوت و گرم و الکلی برام کاملا تداعی کننده رنگ سرخ بود کاش در ادامه این رنگ گسترش پیدا می کرد مثل وزشی داغ از دل کویر که تمام شهر رو در حرارت و شهوت و لاقیدی به آتش می کشه در حالیکه افسوس رایحه فقط کمرنگ تر و کمرنگ تر می شه چون نسیمی گرم و پر اشتیاق که زیر پوست شهر در حجاب شرم و قرن ها تحمیل و خویشتن داری ناپدید و محو شده است... به هیچ وجه توقع یه رایحه طبیعی و نچرال رو نداشته باشین اگر چه فضای اگزوتیک دارویی لاستیکی در کنار حالت الکلی میوه ای قم چیلوم بسیار مطبوع و خوشایند هست و از بالانس فوق العاده ای برخورداره. ماندگاری متوسط و همچنین پخش بسیار پایینی داره که کمی دلسرد کننده است و در کمتر از یک ساعت رایحه به پوست می چسبه و به سختی به مشام می رسه به لحاظ قیمت و پرفورمنس و رایحه امتیاز 6.5 7 از 10

I - N - T - O - X - I - C - A - T - I - N - G ! ....... OMG Ignore the nay sayers! Just arrived ... just sprayed an hour ago. To embellish my description as best I can I should point out I am not a fan of Oriental or overly floral perfumes. I disagree with the description of Woody Floral Musk - though it is applicable the overall feel on the dry down is more like that of an oriental. Rbalkris and Blackness also have spot on descriptions. Not all the notes present themselves in an obvious fashion to me - the opening is very Cherry and a tinge raspberry (or to me more like rich red currant) and yes it is almost medicinal like and yes vaguely like a cough syrup - I'd say a dead ringer for Halls Cherry cough drops. Thats only for a bit. After a few minutes a synthetic almost PVC or latex smell mixes in leaving the deep Sweet Cherry to a top note - it dries down after 15 minutes or so more to a complex mix with some added florals, leather, deep wood and pleasant camphor over the top. After 30 minutes I get wafts of what smells like tobacco as well though it is not listed - possibly a trick with the construction ingredients? I never thought I would own a scent like this but the positive descriptions have nailed it which is why I bought it. Now I will buy ANOTHER bottle! Its weird - it would pass as a definitive exotic womens scent or exotic mens scent - not in between, not for men or women - its either FOR men or FOR women - its hard to explain - an androgynous perfume if that makes sense? Out of hundreds this is the first floral/oriental perfume I'm excited about. The beauty of it is in the evolving journey. The negative is the projection. I suspect the scent design gives olfactory fatigue so may be better than realised but it does appear to be closer to a skin scent after an hour. I am happy to forgive this though - if you are open minded you will enjoy this and if not I am confident you will at least respect its unique quality. EDIT: 4 hours later I reapplied and was more generous than normal, maybe a dozen sprays and it’s awesome, decent silage and longevity hours later - smells like a cherry noted shisha... awesome!

I really cannot understand why many people did not like this incredible and unique creation - didnt sell much as im aware , thus the discontinuation! The whole SHL line is not easy to find either in stores or online and i came to the conclusion , after testing the whole range, that it is probably one of the most interesting out there. Qom Chilom is maybe the most challenging , in a good way, and intriguing at the same time creation of this house. I can see that the opening might be a tad tricky , due to the halls cherry drops resemblence, but the composition constantly changes afterwards in countless stages. Cherry Narguilé , soft leather, ashy accords and a tolerable sweetness accompanied with camphor and musks....Brilliant , simply brilliant!! It stays like a silk écharpe on your neck , a very discreet and personal perfume and thats a huge advantage in this case because if it were more potent it might have destroyed the whole concept. A 10/10 in my book for creativity and smell !!

Made as a paean of flavoured hookah, the laid back smoke filled room of synthetic fruit juices completely enamoured by diluted air. Qom Chilom captures suffocation inbetween dimly lit room of shisha bars, refined by the darkness and depth of smoke, leather, and latex into a foregrounding aspect that strikes after obvious cherry and oud note - could be tacky orientalist middle-eastern trope if done wrong but it turns into more subdued and seducing earthy note, which also revealing partial camphor and various florals, constantly shapeshifting amongst all those notes of dark embrace. personal issue is that both projection and sillage could be way better over a skin scent but at the same time due to the substantial amount of brooding notes here, i think this one could be worn at any particular weather and time into constant self-sniffing and enjoying the transformation on it's own instead of overwhelmes. it has a great longetivity as well though, stays like 8-12 hours in tropical heat

A lovely lovely interesting and delicious perfume, Qom Chilom! Beautiful!! Gorgeous cherries and raspberry first, then absolutely lovely heliotrope and deep earthy/herby woods, with just a hint of camphor - a very very rich almost tobacco smell. Wonderfully interesting and enjoyable. But the leather, mixed with vanilla!, is the best part for me - it's beautifully deep, sweet and smooth and enticing. Mmmmmm.......warm, soft and wonderfully embracing. Lovely!! Scrumptious!!! And that smell, mixed with all the other smells in it, goes on and on........! So divine!!!! And the bottle is so stunningly beautiful!!!! Gorgeous gorgeous passionate colour!!! I love Qom Chilom!! Totally!!!! It suits me to a T!!! Fabulous!!!

first couple hours it smells synthetic cherry. cherry always smells too synthetic to my nose in fragrances. dry down is perfect thanks to iris and most georgeous part of this fragrance. it is underrated in here frangrantica, it worth well above 4.3 in my opinion.

[Praying to God] "Please don't resemble Cherry Musk, please don't resemble cherry musk, please don't resemble cherry musk." As i cherry pick what I like and don't like, I can at least say this doesn't resemble Ramon Monegal's synthetic Cherry Musk. The outset is defined by cherry-vanilla for sure. From my understanding, Stephane Lucas sorta promotes the enigmatic note break down. I can assure you that this isn't a complicated fragrance at all. The only thing complicated here is the price being charged for this Cherry Nyquil. The medicinal properties hang around for about 30 to 45 minutes. The vanilla is extrait-like and more pronounced during this phase. If you like your oud sober, then you'll be pleased with how it blends with the fruity features. The dirtiest note here is the cedar and frankly, it isn't all that dirty or noticeable. There's obviously other things happening during these 3 hours but the feeling is kinda "eh". In the end, the only address you'll have left is the email if you bet the house on this fragrance.

1989 JOOP! Homme was launched. It was a massive success and continues to sell well, 25 years on. Why? It was/ is affordable, still unique (and that means something in THIS market) and strong. It also had this strong synthetic candy cherry note in it that I loved so much. When I saw this in a famous department store, I was very intrigued and had high hopes. I love the concept and many of the interesting notes are there, but I think this might have been rushed (given this very young company has only been around for a year, yet has already 11 products out there. That is INSANE and even faster in launching new scents than Bond #9). Good things need time and therefore, I recommend the production team to slow the _____ down!! Take time to develop your concepts before you bring them to market. I LOVE the packaging. Luxurious, mysterious, unique and beautiful, BUT you need to work on your juice! Concept 10/10. Execution and longevity of scent 5/10. What a wasted effort.

Sometimes a perfume comes along that is so exotic yet so alien that most fragrance lovers just don't get it. Then the reviews come up with unfortunate comparisons to things like cough syrup. And then the perfume dies. It is pulled from the market due to poor sales never to be seen again. Welcome to the dear departed world of the gorgeous and polarizing Qom Chilom, a luxurious ode to the cherry hookah. The perfume opens with notes of cherry and raspberry moving to a heart of oud, camphor, iris, heliotrope, teak and cedar. The perfume finally settles into a powdery base of leather, musk, patchouli and vanilla. Unclassifiable and extraordinarily exotic like a most sumptuous dessert you have never eaten, the unisex scent has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. For those of you into unique exotic orientals, try and seek it out on the secondary market.

Wonderful cherry (almond) opening drying down to a oily woody leather base that's faintly reminiscent of SoOud Burqua, like lightly honeyed teak wood, black shoe polish, some brand new black leather with hints of lightly smokey oud and ripe cherry. As previous reviewers mention, it's a great concept, poor execution. Sillage and projection need a serious boost especially for the 777 name and price point. A likeable fragrance, not worth the asking price.

Dark and slightly medicinal leathery cherry that gets smokier as it dries down. Sits close to the skin but stable and lasts. Tom Ford’s cherry smoke smells kinda similar, just slightly fresher in the opening and no medicinal oud but the cherry leather combo is very similar.

Tart cherry, sweet raspberry and leather. A touch of wood sap in the heart. Smells like a cherry condom. Sharp and pungent until it dries down. 🍒

Medicinal hard pass. Not a wearable perfume, not artistic. Smells unfinished. Black Gemstone, Panthea Iris are far better perfumes in performance, construction, smell. Bottle design, 11/10 Sorry SHL.

Blech! Smells too much like cherry cough syrup. Sour and sickly sweet, it has a medicinal quality that transports me to a bathroom cupboard or a hospital. Not a visual I want to see every day.

where is the almonds note? the bitter almonds note!!?? i recently realized that i have a passion for almonds so much that it adds an odd mouthwatering nerve in my jaw!! it's like i feel my blood runs in my jaw once i smell almonds blends fragrances like this one for instance and even Oumma! according to Lucas, this fragrance is inspired by a night in Qom in Persia (Iran) where it is a smell of nargila or shisha. the smell of the tobacco they use to smoke that shisha, the flavor tobacco and mostly the cherry and strawberry raspberry tobacco. and few of the sweetish desserts of Persia like delights & vanilla. and you can smell the essence of harsh tobacco that melts on that fresh fruits all over that lead to a bite upon a sour cake leather jacket!! To be honest it's a real drawback to all my relatives who had sniffed this juice and called it medicine but extremely a pleasant to me and never a medicine. it is a very attracting fragrance that i honestly would have bought if it was as same price as "Une Nuit a Doha". at least UNAD has an unbelievable longevity and silage, but this one here truly has longevity but i personally see the price is over exaggerated. maybe it's because of the Swarovski emerald in the middle. too much of 330$ for 50ml, it's like 6.6$ for each ml!? im sorry but i think i'll pass it unless i get it as a present :) Edit (9th April 2016) Since i knew that this one is discontinued because of bad sells... i'm going for it cause honestly the more i sniff it the more i get connected to it besides the bottle and low sell factors make it a bonus for me :p Edit (7th June 2016) There is a bad note that irritate my lunges when sniffing this one and it is the dusty burned woods. It does disturb me somehow in away that suffocates me & I guess it's the teak wood. i wish i am wrong and i'll give it more time.

Now this is a really unique perfume, and a very well used cherry note. I don't like this house, the regular ones are either too sweet or too synthetic for my tastes. These limited ones, like Qom Chilom, Oud 777, and O Hira, are a different game however. They smell more natural, they are more refined, and interesting. Going back to Qom Chilom. Don't expect a sweet, super fruity, jovial, commercial cherry and raspberry accord here. None of that commercial stuff going on here. The fruits are rather tart, more like a fruit smoke rather than actual fruits. I think he really captures well the cherry-raspberry flavored hookah thing. Also, these fruity-smoky nuances are not overpowering. They somehow linger in the back of this latex-leather accord, some woods and a faint powdery heliotrope. This to me comes across more as a leathery and woodsy scent, with a fruity infused camphorous smoke. It starts a bit on the sweet and powdery side which I dislike, but it soons transitions to this beautiful smoky leather and woods with a fruit infusion that gets better as it goes. Very complex overall, very smooth, it wears elegantly around you. Although not similar at all, I find a similar aesthetic in Frederic Malle's The Moon, but that one is more synthetic, harsh, rough and bad taste if you ask me. I used to like The Moon but I can't wear it anymore as the synthetics are too strong and the perfume too loud for me to enjoy. And although I thought about selling this, it might become an ideal substitute for The Moon. A very good and unique perfume indeed.

DOES STÉPHANE HUMBERT PUT A PHENOL SUCH AS CRESOL IN SOME OF HIS PERFUMES? CRESOL IS THE ADDITIVE IN BANDAIDS AND INSULIN. I haven't had a chance to try Qom Chilom. But, I definitely smell a cresol such as that which is added to insulin and gives it that MEDICINAL smell in the sampler of Oumma that I purchased. If anyone wonders what the smell is. It is Cresol. You can also taste it in certain whiskies where the wood used to distill the liquor has the compound in it. I've heard reviewers talk about a medicinal smell in Qom Chilom. Does it smell like bandaids? Insulin? Maybe Stéphane Humbert is trying to tell us all something. If any of you want to try another smokey, cherry cologne. You should try Stéphanie Princess of Monaco. That is an amazing scent similar to Chanel Antaeus. She uses Tonka Beans as a base note without cresol. So you have this wonderful dark maraschino cherry scent whisping through a Chanel Antaeus collision of rose and citrus that all melds into a warm creamy cherry scent then dissipates into smoke and incense. If you like cherry look for Tonka Bean. It is just as good. I may have JUST bought the last bottles of Stephanie on the internet TODAY after going through my sampler. The price of that discontinued 30 year old cologne was a third of this bottle's price and I have a feeling it is almost, if not, JUST AS GOOD.

I bought a Christain Lacroix pillow called Tumulte Arlequin and then I saw that he had a cologne similar to Chanel Antaeus called Tumulte that has been out of circulation since 2007. Well, I had to check it out. So I bought the cologne and received a sampler of a cologne that was TOTALLY UNIQUE. It started out with this black cherry, carnation scent and then descended into spice and smoke. I couldn't read the label and I thought it said STEPHANE. After reading reviews on this scent I thought I received a sampler of Qom Chilom since the fragrance was so UNIQUE. Well, I talked to the store owner and he said he sent me a cologne called STEPHANIE from the early 90's by The Princess of Monaco. No cherry is listed, but it has this warm dark cherry scent that might be lilac mixed with carnation, I'm not sure. The cologne is for women, but a lot of men seem to LOVE IT. So, now I have to get my hands on a sample of this cologne. I would love to know if anyone here has tried the androgynous scent called Stephanie. Even, though it is out of production that cologne goes for half the price of this scent, which might be why this scent garners some negative reviews. When people put down 290 on a bottle of cologne expectations RUN HIGH and memory recalls a 3 oz bottle of the best cologne costing 70 in the 90s.

Cherry-Oud-Woods enriched by some sweet flowery leathery hints. If you like mideast themed fragrances, this one has a great composition. Also it doesn’t try to hide or mute the powerful oud note, rather blends it with beautiful notes and shows the mesmerizing side of mideastern culture. I would remark that you need to like oud note to enjoy Qom Chilom because the first few hours give you bold oud notes. The starting cherry-oud is rather bold and striking but it transforms to the everpleasent mid notes. The flowery hints of heliotrope and iris, sweet woodiness blends with oud fabulously. Later stages of earthy, sweet, vanilic musks. The blending is superior and as the oud settles down on your skin, you get a yummy unisex smell. I purchased it at a good discount years ago and still cherish my bottle every now and then.

One of the nastiest perfumes I ever had the displeasure of trying. I put this in the ranks of MM Ink, Oud 27, and Wall Street. Unwearable. Unbearable. You cannot pay me to have this on my skin. It smells like to me a mixture of pepto bismol, kids cherry medicine that is 5 years over the expiration date and vomit. With that being said....Stephane Humbert Lucas is one of my favorite houses of all time. He just needs to get this out of his line up and it would be one of the strongest offerings any house has on the market. It's a crying shame too...the bottle is easily the prettiest!

I really love this. I think I like some off beat stuff. This is getting some hate. On me I get that blast of fruity cherry(which I wish lasted a little longer)then it is on to leather with a lingering cherry note. Get no camphor some tobacco(more like leaf/not smoke). No big woods thank goodness and the bottle is nice. Would wear this as a day scent mostly stays near my skin.

Scent - cherries, raspberries, musk & leather. Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night. Projection - I didn't get noticed, I didn't get a compliment. Longevity - I get 8hrs consistently.

@Mojtaba:Yes thats true...thats exactly what you are thinking! Iran is a producer of perfumary raw materials!for example its tuberose is one of the finest quality in this indusrty...so be proud of your country
