Sea My Love

Absolutely love this as an aquatic fragrance, it's extremely salty but it doesn't come off as synthetic or harsh at all, it's a very realistic subtle airy salt. The leather is very prominent but it blends with the aquatic notes and salt to give it a dark texture. The opening has that citrus note but it's very subtle, which I like because it doesn't try to blast you with citruses therefore dumbing down the rest of the notes, it's just barely there, enough to catch your interest and make you question what you're really smelling. I've been testing my official 2ml sample from SHL (they have cool matchbox-shaped sample boxes) for the past week and I have one *personal* downside that's preventing me from buying a full bottle (though I'm still inclined to do so as the bottle design is simply an art piece in and of itself). The problem: It has probably the smallest projection and shortest sillage of any fragrance I've ever tried, at least high-end niche ones. Even from the very initial opening, it projects maybe 2 inches. To be able to smell it on myself at any time I have to physically put my nose on where I sprayed it, and if I try waving my arms around in front of me with the fragrance on, the scent barely leaves a trail and immediately dissipates. Though I will say, the fragrance will stay on you for 24 hours + as a skin scent. Now I doubt I received a fake or faulty sample (got it via FRModa as an official sample box, have purchased other FBs from them a few times), but I was surprised to see the sillage ratings here are on the "Strong" side. I really tried testing the projection to the best of my abilities, one method I like to use it spray a large test strip 2-3 times, leave it roughly in the center of my room without any other scents, leave and come back after about 30 min to see how much of the room is filled up with it. Doing this, I felt a projection bubble of about 3-4 feet, which on-skin might sound nice but in reality that's considering the fact that it had so much time to fill up space and it still barely projects. I'm honestly hoping my sample has been watered down or expired or something because if I got the same scent but just a bit louder I would definitely buy a FB.

Let me start off by saying that I am very sure alot of people who blind bought this, won’t be blown away when first smelling it. Let me tell you more about it. This is not a typical marine fragrance. This is deep and rich, when you smell it, you think of sea in the night. It opens up kind of fresh but transitions to a scent with alot of depth. At first when I smelled it, I wasn’t shocked or rolled my eyes out beacause of how good it is. But let me tell ya, your nose is gonna remember it. In matter of days, YOU will be reaching for more and more of it. It has that kind of mysterious deep attraction, which makes this fragrance very special. Think of 40 knots, without funky sweetness and enormous, almost too cloying sillage. Sea my love, really is a love. A deep one. Just the right amount of projection and longevity for this type of a perfume. Love it. Last thing I wanna say is, don’t be scared when you see leather note, because I was and I am not anymore :) This fragrance is all about symphony of marine/amber/salt with a touch of mandarine to give it a little lightness and freshness, but when that fades away, amber and undertone of leather come in play, and it really is wonderfull. Sea snakes are protagonists of the oldest legends: unpredictable, enormous and mysterious, they represent the unstoppable and indomitable power of nature. Sea of my love wants to represent, with its very present marine and salty notes, wisely accompanied by leathery notes that give it an even deeper and darker appearance, a sea snake, mythical, that suddenly emerges from the sea waters and so suddenly vanishes.... as to make us wonder whether we are living a dream or reality. A free creature, but at the same time a keeper of one of the most beautiful nature elements that can exist: the sea. If you love the marine genre, where salty notes are strongly present, with slightly dark overtones, try it: you will not regret it. I made it mine, it impressed me from the beginning. Appropriate for any time and season.

On the surface and at the top, the salt fleetingly smells like Sel d'Issey. However, there's a depth and beauty to this which is extremely rare in a marine scent. The balance is perfect, with a very judicious application of perhaps calone or whatever the aquatic material is. Maybe it's not calone, as it reminds me of Silence the Sea, albeit much more accessible, not reaching the fishy realness of StS. The leather is clean and polished, not animalic, not raw. It's almost more like ambergris than leather, in fact I'm convinced there's ambergris in here, although they'd surely list it, so I could be imagining it. The fine-tuning of this fragrance is masterpiece-level to me. I have to say I didn't like it on card, but when I wore it it blew my mind and I ended up buying it.

The first time I tried it all I got was leather and some marine scent. Slightly light and fresh when first sprayed. Gave it another try and this time I moisturized with scentless cream let it sit then 4 sprays. Literally smelled like a different fragrance. Much lighter with more marine salt and a dash of mandarin and jasmine. The leather almost blended with the other scents so it was much harder to pick out. On dry down the leather and amber came through with the leather much more smooth. I definitely do not have anything like it and it is a wonderful addition to the collection. I get the impression that it really depends on your skin chemistry as to how this comes across.

Wearing this I will buy a boat. I will not sail this boat on shallow water. Sea my love is cold dark blue ocean where some folks will fear to tread the water. Diving in the beginning will get some faint citrus that does not linger long. It is quickly taken over by a deep rich leathery marine. Dry down brings out some floral & amber notes to lighten the deep marine & salty leather. Very unique profile & not what I was expecting. This is a fragrance you can wear and safely assume nobody else will smell like you.

This opend very fresh, salty and a hint citrusy Ambergris is a prominent and main note in this fragrance and i love that It smells a bit animalic, a little funky in the right way but at the same time very clean and fresh Along with leather and amber it is a perfect unisex, leaning masculine summer fragrance Because it starts very fresh but then dries into something very clea, polished and put together Ideally it is for a man who knows what he wants and is dressed well and certainly not a beginner to fragrance

How deep is the sea? This perfume tries to tell it by transporting us to a very deep seabed; where sunlight no longer reaches and the water is dense and saltier, where the mysteries of men are lost for centuries and legends are told. Sea my love by Stéphane Humbert Lucas is the most deepest and darkest abyss! A truly dark and original marine perfume with a salty mandarin and strong leather note that opens the dance of the sea serpent. Beautiful! 💙

Top quality perfume. Its the portrait of a guy who is having fun in a beach party, wears a blue or beige blousse and doesnt mind smth. Imo this is how a man in a vacation should smell like. It changes a lot btw.

Not a straightforward aquatic but a complex and mysterious portrayal of the sea, making it memorable for those who enjoy marine perfumes with character and bite.

Sea My Love is the marine offering from the house of Stéphane Humbert Lucas, and it is an overlooked gem within the brand’s lineup. It does not get talked about nearly enough, especially considering the quality and the performance it delivers. The opening is powerful and immediately noticeable, built around mandarin orange, sea salt, and marine notes, with jasmine and a soft touch of leather sitting in the background. The orange comes across as bright orange peel rather than sweet citrus, and it pairs extremely well with the salt accord. What stands out here is how authentic the salt smells. There is a clear briny, mineral quality that you only get from a well-executed, high-quality salt accord. The fragrance projects strongly in this stage, and you can tell early on that it is going to last. After about thirty minutes, the marine notes begin to deepen and the leather slowly comes forward. The leather then becomes the focal point of the scent. It is smooth and well blended, adding structure without ever feeling rough or overpowering. After a couple hours, amber, musk, patchouli, and benzoin start to emerge, rounding out the scent. These notes bring warmth and balance while keeping the marine character present throughout. The oceanic feel carries from start to finish, making it easy to follow the progression without any abrupt shifts. A good comparison would be Oud Minérale, though Sea My Love feels slightly brighter and more approachable thanks to the added citrus and the smooth leather note. This doesn’t have seaweed or oud listed like Oud Minérale, but it still delivers a very convincing salty sea feel. Some people mention a gasoline or petrol-like nuance, similar to Oud Minérale, but I do not notice that. I also don’t think it comes across as a generic men’s cologne at all. The marine notes are well executed, and the leather adds something extra that lifts the fragrance and keeps it interesting, giving it personality that most simple blue fragrances lack. Sea My Love wears as a distinctly masculine fragrance, with the feel of a high-quality blue fragrance shaped by aquatic and leather notes. It works especially well on warmer evenings, where its freshness and depth come together naturally. I think it was overlooked for the same reason Neptune’s Trident from Argos was: expectations for something bolder from the brand caused many to miss Sea My Love, a beautifully made fragrance with excellent performance. It represents one of SHL's quietly impressive releases, and one of the more underrated oceanic fragrances available today.

Honestly surprised me. I expected something more aquatic and I guess marine but I got a genuinely brilliant salt and leather warm scent. Of course, marine is still prominent as an accord but I certainly smell the salt, leather and amber. In terms of longevity I quite literally cannot get this stuff off of me. It lasts for a day and on clothes I have smelt it subtly for weeks after. Sillage is okay but this is more of a skin scent really. Honestly, this is unisex but the spicy leather part makes me believe it leans mildly more masculine. This stuff is expensive though and I wouldn't exactly say its too worth it. Sure its unique but it is REALLY unique - in a good way of course - but it really limits the time you can wear it. Solid 7/10 fragrance, its good but the sillage lets it down.

I've been wearing this scent for a week now and my opinion has finally formed. For me, the scent is about the sea, salt and leather. Moreover, the skin note in this fragrance is quite brutal, but it is slightly softened by jasmine (which gives a light floral tint) and patchouli (giving a bitterness and a little smokiness). I don’t smell mandarin 🍊 as such from my hot skin, may be a little at the beginning of the aroma. For me, the scent is more masculine, because it is quite characteristic and deep. Those who like the sea theme, then in this fragrance it is very well revealed, it is really dark and salty 🌊 sea.

Beautifully crafted sea notes, salty aerosol hits your lips and cheeks, just close your eyes and you are standing on the coast with a combination of sand and small rocks. The cool metallic middle of the scent is like saffron rounded with musk, sweetened by vanilla and orange, slightly pulling into cologne. Strong sillage. Drydown is identical with moment when you get into the interior of a car warmed by the summer sun, it is the smell of the leather interior in combination with your tanned skin that plays a leading role. Shame only in overprice - 215 Eur for 50ml is too much.

A very realistic oceanic/marine scent profile, but Oud Minérale from Tom Ford does it better. Still - Sea My Love is a fantastic and very unique fragrance, I really do like it and recommend it a lot, but somehow the leather in this scent throws me a bit off since it is supposed to be a strong ocean inspired fragrance, which it kind of still is but leather does not remind me of the sea at all. Solid 8/10.

Leathery/Oceanic. Interesting, was expecting not to like this one as marine notes are rarely done in a pleasing way these days. Mandarin is a nice touch and ambery seems to be of an ambrocenide aspect.

When it comes to Stéphane Humbert Lucas fragrances, I expect some kind of interesting and unique approach to a certain genre - it's one of my favorite houses. Stéphane Humbert Lucas' catalogue lacked an aquatic scent and so the scent has its place, but Sea My Love doesn't offer anything special for aquatic fragrance lovers. The scent opens promisingly and the combination of notes feels interesting as the clear, regular aquatic note pushes through more and more clearly, soon leaving the other notes behind. The image and advertising of the scent is fascinating and I was expecting something bold and a bit challenging. However, the scent is anything but. What's special about the scent, at least on my skin, is that all the notes, from the top to the base notes, emerge within the first few minutes. The scent is like a fast-forward of their normal development. As soon as you start to think you're giving the scent a chance, the whole thing flattens out into a linear pattern and it leaves the wearer disappointed. The quality of the notes is good though, nothing feels unpleasant or synthetic in a negative sense. Mandarin Orange is soft, not too sweet and the leather is gentle unlike the usual Lucas' sometimes daring but well-made leather (I love those rough ones). The base is balanced, but it doesn't bring depth or darkness to the scent, instead it stays fresh all the time with clear marine notes with a subtle jasmine and salty touch. If I had to choose one scent in this category my honest opinion is: I love "Oud Minérale | Tom Ford" much more (it has nothing to do with oud tho). The aquatic freshness is palpable and more realistic, there is something very charming about it, even though the fragrance category is not my thing. On my husband's skin it is very good in hot weather. Sea My Love is ok, I'm just disappointed. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. A less disgusting version of Megamare. On my skin, it smells like a rotten seaweed. I have really mixed emotions about it because I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist, even though it smelled gross.

N-th "Squid" clone, but it's not bad; has a leathery, and a bit more stereotypical men's cologne-y drydown. Way too expensive for what it is, and the bottles are starting to feel kind of :/

Blind buy fail big time, have a thing of always buying 2 fragrances at one time and the 2nd one I wanted was out of stock so took a punt on this one. Big mistake, sprayed it and though I was filling my car up and smelling the petrol fumes. Let it sit for a good while and still got that petrol fumes vibe. Got home and decided to use one of the kiddies as a experiment, sprayed it on them and got the reaction "eeeewwww gross" and her sister gave the same reaction. Not quite sure how this falls in aquatic????? On a completely separate topic the other blind buy with Sea my Love was Lumari Porthole, now that was a blind buy epic WIN, you want fresh and fruity and oh so good, that's the one to check out!

I sprayed it on paper thought to myself ‘wow, this smells like a salty sauna.’ I love the scent of the wood from a sauna so i was hyped. What followed was disaster; i tested it on skin, the salty sauna scent quickly turned into something awfull. From a far it still more or less smelled like a sauna but when in close proximity it smelled like sweaty, salty balls. Disaster. Never again.

I can only smell the marine note in this perfume which is too overwhelming and nauseating for me. I even couldn't wait for the dry down as I had to scrub it off immediately.

Sea My Love by French House of Haute Luxury Niche Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777 is a Unisex Amber Woody Aquatic Leather perfume. This is a brand new fragrance which has launched in 2024; and the nose behind this fragrance is Stéphane Humbert Lucas. Sea My Love has a salty citrus beginning, but that nuance is very brief. Soon a very light leather arrives that will permeate the fragrance throughout its evolution. The white and fresh floral of jasmine is also very noticeable, transitioning to the marine part of the composition. And with the amber and benzoin building an ambery vibe in the background, pleasantly sweetening the fragrance. Even so, it remains with its navy blue aura, always referring to the freshness of a sea breeze in the late afternoon. Versatile and elegant perfume for warmth. Towards the base, musk and patchouli bring a delicate and easy animalic/earthy facet, but without any possibility of loading the perfume with some dirt or causing strangeness. The perfume is always fresh and light, very tasty and easy to please.

My first experience with this particular line (the colorful bottles with the embellished caps) was Pink Boa - it's a fantastic scent but the performance was absolutely abysmal. My sample of Mortal Skin didn't fare too much better, and I was concerned this was a line of good scents with poor performance. Thankfully Sea My Love proved me wrong. This pushes off of skin for several hours and will make it to at least the 12 hour mark as a noticeable skin scent. It opens up with a gorgeous salted citrus, the fresh marine aspects making themselves apparent, before the aquatic element fizzles away into a warm leathery scent which stays around for the remainder of the fragrance's life. Extremely wearable and appealing.

I have no idea what everyone’s on about with the ‘dark’ part of the description. On my skin the perfume opens with salty mandarin peel, balanced with just a touch of jasmine to make it more soapy and fresh feeling. Then come the sea and leather notes and this is where I get confused with the other comments. The leather is not skanky, neither dark or heavy- it is suede, buttery and not animalistic in the slightest. The overall feeling I have is of freshness and I love the new mandarins and leather spin on this marine. Nothing scary to see here to my nose, great offer from SHL, easy wear IMHO and mostly male leaning.

I grew up in Brooklyn NY. This perfume reminds me of summers spent in Coney Island. The sea, the sand, the smells of the boardwalk, the wonderful fragrance of a potpourri of incredible foods wafting in the air. A gentle perfume, soft and wearable without the brutality of fragrances like Black Sea or Megamare, which I also love. Wears closer to the skin, but lasts throughout the day. Makes me want to grab a blanket, get on a bus to Coney Island.

I think for many this would work excellently as a spring/summer night time option. For me though, I admire it, but there's something offputting with the fresh marine/leather combo. I also find it offputting in ADG Elixir. I'll keep testing it though because the quality from SHL is not in doubt!

My third review of this. Went through two samples and now have a full bottle. It's fresh and energising, and also has so much depth and complexity. This has become a love for me for sure (a very rare one). I own and love Megamare but this has it's own spot even in my small collection. Love.

Reviewed three days ago and I've already got over whatever was putting me off this scent! Can't get enough of my sample now. Just as @Patrik2003 said, it might not wow you but it's insanely addictive. This is gonna be full bottle worthy and a part of my very small collection. Top tier!

🔥👉 leather Oceanic. Really love the perfume, but i am disapoint, the perfume is weak does not last more than 15 min and then is just on the skin, the dua versión last for ever Love the leather and the citrus and the marine notes. But weak perfume, that disappoint me.

Not for me, reminds me of the disinfectant that my vet uses when cleaning up. It's not necessarily a bad smell but just can't erase the olfactory experience, although I would definitely say "try before you buy"
