Steve McQueen

I purchased this cologne last year on a whim, and I'm glad I did. The flagrance notes are light and layered. Very unlike most "rugged" mens fragrances. The reaction I received when wearing it was positive on all counts with the exception of one. As for the people saying that this fragrance is nothing more than celebrity name branding, I have this to offer. Purely by accident I found a possible connection. If this was the intent of the developers I cannot say. After working on the radiator of my classic Porsche (928 water cooled, not air cooled) I needed to clean the remnants of the job from my hands. The mixture consisted of antifreeze, Auto trans fluid, 10W40 synthetic engine oil, and various amounts of road grime and rubber residue. I used the cleaning agent GoJo (not the orange variety the old cream stuff)to clean up. To my surprise the resulting smell was very close to that of the steve mcqueen fragrance. Not 100% mind you but astonishingly similar. For the prior few days I had not worn the cologne nor was I wearing clothes that had been exposed to it. It would have been highly unlikely that I had somehow stirred up the fragrance form another source. The GoJo does have a light citrus smell to it, while the earthy note of marigold appeared to come from the ATF, Antifreeze and road residue. Take it for what you think its worth. As for me I have to say that publicity and names aside, if you like it wear it.
