Creme Bouquet

I got Creme Bouquet in a little trio set on sale from Stila a couple of days ago. This is the first time I've ever bought fragrance without smelling it. And I am SO GLAD I DID. I can see why Creme Bouquet is a cult classic. It's a very distinctive scent; the first time I smelled it, one thing came to mind: LUSH. A LUSH store. To me, Creme Bouquet smells exactly like that yummy corner of LUSH with all their bath bombs and soaps. Or when you bring home a big bag of LUSH goodies, you stick your nose in the bag and just inhale. It smells SO GOOD. It is a specific scent though, so don't mistunderstand. It is very vanilla-y and has some definite powder but it's still very youthful and fresh. Very feminine and pretty. This is how you do vanilla RIGHT, in my opinion. I'm always searching for a good, classy vanilla that doesn't smell like someone shoved a cupcake up your nose. This is that perfume. I'd say that Creme Bouquet is a day scent (though I usually hate rules like that, just wear what you want, when you want. It's perfume, not a kidney transplant). When my rollerball runs out I plan (if it's still in stock...) to get the full-size spray fragrance. *sigh* I can't help but keep smelling my wrist. It's just that good! :)

This is so very different for me. I just love it! It's a strange sort of love though. I'm always a little jarred by it at first. It starts off very milky on my skin. A true "milk" note isn't something that's easy to find, certainly isn't listed, and yet here it is clear as can be. At first this is like milk w/florals at the bottom of the glass. Interesting right? As time goes by the flowers start to ...ahem...float to the top and really start to influence the whole thing. They never completely make it out of the liquid which is part of the allure for me. They are a creamy tropical vanilla flora. The lilac is perfect w/the lotv creating a very unique smelling flower. For me this doesn't smell like a bouquet or even an accurate lilac or lily but as if in bringing the two together a new species of flower has been created. What a strange and wonderful creation!I'm wearing it in spring and will continue to wear it through the summer as that's where this will really....er.....bloom. I can see this being a great pick to ward off those dark winter blues too. This girl's a lot of fun and a lot more complex than she first lets on. Not complex in notes.....just in how she reveals them......

Creme Bouquet was a fragrance that lived up to it's name. It was creamy, powdery, and sweet but not cloying. I found it surprising that it was described as a vanilla fragrance as I never got that. I wore it constantly until they discontinued it. Then when they brought it back, I was overjoyed. I bought several bottles to horde. I just opened 1 of my last 2 bottles this week. I was also lucky enough to score the body wash and I've been using it in my shower. The fragrance is so beautiful and feminine and wraps you in this sweet powdery blanket like a cotton candy and a baby powder mixed together. Just luscious! It's the only perfume that doesn't make my allergies tweak. I'm gong to try the Pacifica recipe suggestion and see how that goes, but I am going to enjoy that I still have 2 bottles of this left!

I blind bought this perfume yesterday seeing as how stila is my favorite makeup brand. At first sniff I wanted to hate it but I committed to it and wore it all day today. It's almost perfect. The vanilla and lilac are just lovely but instead of lily of the valley I would have rather seen a sandalwood or musk basenote. It has incredible lasting power and the drydown is very pleasant but still a bit unique. Very easy to wear. I'll be trying it with Clean Skin underneath and see if the white flowers and musk can add some dimension but overall it was a good addition to my collection. I can see why its a "cult classic." EDIT: I just tried it with Clean Skin underneath and they are a dream team.

The bottle is lovely. I put this on and forgot about it then kept thinking what is that gorgeous smell? It was me! I'm not a violet or LOTV fan but in this they just enhance the creaminess of the vanilla and in fact give the scent a milky quality like the flowers are steeping in cool milk. Just beautiful! It's sweet but not teeny or candyish. I'm just loving it I can't compare this to anything I've ever smelled! I only put one spray and it's staying quite close to the skin so will see what sillage is like next time when I spray some more. So glad I have this!

A really beautiful sweet floral but not overpowering. Think a whisp of pink chiffon....and like the description says....creamy....soft and powdery. One of my absolute favorites and my usual "go to" fragrance if I don't know what to wear. Innocent and sexy at the same time. I don't smell the lily of the valley....more the cream, vanilla and lilac......so glad they brought this perfume back!

This is one of my greatest loves. It just beckons you to come closer. To me, it's mainly creamy (vanilla) with a few discreet florals tossed in for good measure. Just a hint of sweetness. This is one of my all-time favorite scents.

I owned this when it first came out. It really is beautiful with a soft creamy floral aroma. To me it really just smells like lilac and vanilla. I never really got the Lilly of the Valley notes. There is a beautiful powdery vibe to this that I like. I was reminded of this scent when I was reading about it in a book called Skin Deep. Apparently it's the actress Patricia Clarkston's favorite scent. That got me hankering for it, but apparently it's been discontinued. I can't find it anywhere. I took Libra73's advice and layered Pacifica's Island Vanilla and French Lilac and got a pretty close dupe. The combination of soft floral notes and warm vanilla just makes me feel so feminine. Love it!

Just got this in the mail after scouring the net for a bottle, and finally found one on ebay! After all the hype for this perfume, I’m not disappointed; it is a very light powdery floral, perfect for spring. It’s a soft, milky vanilla, and after a few minutes or so the creaminess really comes out. It’s very innocent without being childlike, and has a clean, after-the-bath kind of smell. Very happy to finally have this!

Stila got me quite a lot of compliments. The simple combo of vanilla and lilac really does a good job in leaving a comforting and alluring feeling on your skin. I only had a roll-on of this and already used it up. I remember it had a strong lasting power. Nowadays, it appears to be discontinued, but I would consider repurchasing it if they released maybe a reformulated version of it.

only for vanilla fans :) starts off wiht loads of creamy and powdery vanilla and some flowers.... starts turning into more flower with time and a little smokeyness appears too. i have tested this today as well and it now smells like strawberry yoghurt... requires further attention :)

A very lovely milky floral. I have never smelled anything like this. The milk drowns out heaviness from florals giving it a beautiful soft balance. I will test it more to report longevity later.

I remember this being so beautiful, a creamy blossom floral. I bought this recently, and its not as i remebered. Its quite soapy on me actually! .I will keep trying it.

Smelled like Honey Buns. Used the whole bottle after initially disliking it!

I sprayed this on my wrists today, funnily enough it actually belongs to my flatmate, one of my best guy friends. I asked if I could try it and he said to go ahead. On me, Stila Creme Bouquet is straight up Johnson and Johnson Baby Powder. It brought back memories of their powder and baby oil wash I used to use as a very small child. I do get a bit of vanilla mixed with the baby powder smell, with the faintest trace of lilac. A no for me, although I do love comfort scents and can stand a bit of powder on my frags (take Vera Wang Princess, for example), but this is just way too baby powdery for me and my nose. And the flanker and name are so lovely too.... Oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained. Another reviewer mentioned it smelled like the original Dior Addict, which I hope is untrue, as really want to try Addict and hope it doesn't end up as baby powder on my skin!

I managed to snag a bottle of Creme Bouquet by Stila one day from HauteLook and I really wonder if maybe I got a dud or if it was old because I smell almost zero vanilla and a LOT of licorice. It smelled almost sickly sweet, no nice "bouquet" about it all unfortunately. Simply unwearable.

I was so surprised to look this up and find out there was no licorice in the notes. This is unmitigated licorice on me. Unmitigated, nauseating licorice. I guess this is a case of incompatible body chemistry as it smelled nice enough in the bottle and everyone else seems to love it.

This is a nice little candied floral that I'm really enjoying! I spotted this on the clearance rack while standing in line at Ulta the other day and I'd never heard of it before. I thought I'd go ahead and give it a try because of the low price ( the low price also didn't give me high hopes.) What a nice surprise! It really fits it's name....."creme bouquet"....it really is creamy and fluffy. The lilacs are lush and full and the lilly of the valley is not overly apparent ( this is a good thing for me.) The vanilla is round and soft and puffy and keeps the lilac from smelling like "bathroom spray" ( that's usually what I think of when I smell artificial lilacs....I LOVE the real flowers!) This scent dries down fairly quickly on my skin and becomes a less loud, smokier (true,thick,vanilla pod) version of it's initial self. This scent is a billowy, vanilla and lilac cloud that gently, fills the air around me! As much I'm liking this, there is definitely "something" slightly artificial smelling winding it's way throughout the whole scent experience...it's subtle..but it's there and it doesn't bother me all that much.Something plasticy. It reminds me a bit of my review on JPG Ma Dame..in fact..for me, there are many similarities with these two perfumes. The notes don't match at all but in my review of Ma Dame, I said that all I smelled were lilacs, lilacs, lilacs...even though they were not listed. Ma Dame is more sporty and orangey fresh while this is more creamy and subdued. I also get that some people are smelling black licorice....for me, lilac has always reminded me a bit of the smell of licorice. Weird..but true.

Another case where the note pyramid seems abridged, to put it mildly, Stila Crème Bouquet boasts vanilla, lilac, and lily of the valley, but to my nose only the vanilla is really obvious. The flowers could be lots of others and are probably simply the abstract "flower juice" being used in most if not all designer perfumery today. That said, I have to say that this sweet little thing smells pretty good. It is obviously intended for the huge contingent of young fragrance wearers who like to douse themselves in edibly sweet scents. How did this happen? I wonder. It was not that long ago when this style of perfume came into existence. I wonder whether perfumers began with the complex use of vanilla by Guerlain, and then just kept increasing the sugar content, creating sugar addicts in the end. To my nose, this creation evokes memories of some recent perfumes I tested from the new Italian niche house Maison des Rêves. There is some interesting orientalia in the base of this composition--similar to ambergris--which is not accounted for by the spare note list. Pretty good for what it is, in this case a relatively sweet vanilla perfume but not overly artificial smelling. The sweetness level is similar to many celebrity scents, but the quality of Crème Bouquet is higher. I took a gander at the Stila website and discovered that this is the sole survivor from their fragrance line, so I'd recommend it to people who like vanillin-heavy celebrity scents, because this one actually costs less and smells better than most of those.

Leaving this here for anyone who ends up at this page during an attempt to find this long-discontinued fragrance. I used to love this and can’t find it so I’ve tried to replicate it and have come pretty close. ETA: after my earlier review (below), I’ve changed the recipe. The Library of Flowers True Vanilla is too boozy to replicate Stila Creme Bouquet. Instead, replace that vanilla with Pacifica’s Island Vanilla. Not boozy, works with the powdery elements well. Also, I’ve been able to replicate this without using the Scentmatcher’s version: layer Pacifica French Lilac and Pacifica Island Vanilla. There’s enough powdery scent from the Lilac to cover it. Here’s the older review and “recipe”: First, I ordered the replica of this scent from Scentmatchers. I got the perfume and the lotion. It wasn’t an exact match; it hit the powder notes right, but to me lacked the sweetness and some of the floral notes. By mixing a few things, I’ve hit pretty close. I use the Library of Flowers True Vanilla perfumed cream, then the Scentmatchers Creme Bouquet Lotion, then spray Pacifica French Lilac perfume. This combo adds the vanilla, sweetness, and the Lilac note. The Lily of the Valley note isn’t there but I don’t really notice its absence.

I bought a rollerball on closeout for a couple of bucks from Anthropologie that I loved... but when i looked for another to replace it, I found that it had been discontinued. Just recently found a 3-rollerball set on ebay; kept the Creme Bouquet and gifted the Mandarine Mist and Midnight Bloom. It smells clean without being chemical or synthetic, and floral without being overbearing. I would classify it as an effortless casual scent for weekend days. The vanilla is light and balances out the lilac. I would compare wearing it to wearing a simple cotton tee-shirt dress with cute white flats, sandals or sneakers.

I've heard this has been discontinued, what a disappointment! I love vanilla fragrances and this one is exceptional! There is a warm, musky note that emerges after the initial burst of creamy sweetness. I always get compliments when I wear this beautiful scent! What a shame that it's no longer available! I'll have to make my current bottle last a long time. Only one other vanilla fragrance comes close to Creme Bouquet with its sultry, sexy, charming but not-so-innocent sweetness and that is the original (not reformulated) Dior Addict.

One of my signature scents back in the mid-2010s. I adore purple flowers—with Lilac being a favourite. LOTV is also up there with the spring time florals. Combined with this milky powdery vanilla it was perfection to my younger nose but I think perhaps not enough excitement for me now that I’m into so many niche fragrances. I was sad about it being discontinued for years but I feel I’m I’m too mature for this now. This is a tender, gorgeous scent that no longer reflects my self image.

This was my signature scent in the early 2000’s when it came out. I still dream about it! It’s the most beautiful creamy and powdery floral vanilla. I wore this to clubs full of people wearing other scents and this was the most memorable. An incredible projection and lasting power. It reminds of that young girl, wild hearted, messied hair, dancing the night away! I wish Stila would bring this back!!!! This perfume smells like the colors and setting of a Sofia Coppola movie.

Stilas creme bouquet my most fav perfume, i love foody perfumes with out smelling literally like a doughnut!! this is gorgeous, just the right amount of vanilla, hint of floral, a whole dollop of warmth!!! i actually had watery eyes when i found out they had bought this perfume back, the scent lasts all day which is great as its a bit pricey in the uk but its well worth it, i love it!! wish they still did the lotion!!

this starts off nice whit the vanilla . creamy and soft, the lilly of the valley lingers just right whit the vanilla . nice and soft. then the lilac hits in , and for me that stops the whole deal for me , somehow Lilac does not work on my skin, it smells dirty and sharp not nice at all. Im so sad about it because i LOVE lilacs in real life , cant get enof of it. Nice perfume , but just not on my skin.

2 words - simply beautiful. So glad I came across this gem!! Who knew Stila made such captivating scents. This is available in Canada right now. I found it at my local Shoppers Drug Mart (Stila Counter) I am sure Sephora must carry it if they sell Stila. The bottle color is a bit different tho.. just a silver cap the bottle itself is clear glass with lightly colored swirls in it.

Wow! I had to try this and I must say I've never smelt a perfume like it before. It really is distinctive and does smell like the Lush store. I've always wanted to smell like a bath bomb and now I do :) It is a powdery comforting smell with lots of vanilla but I like it! It's different and I like different.

This perfume offends my nose. IMO it does not smell like creamy flowers. I don't see anything about cinnamon in the notes, but I smell it. Cinnamon scented BABY WIPES is the ONLY thing I smell. You couldn't pay me to wear this stuff and yet most people give it favourable reviews. Dunno.

In this fragrance I get a lot more powder than cream. It is a long lasting but soft fragrance with a lovely lilac note that reminds of the lilacs growing in my backyard garden. I don't detect the lily of the valley but there is a refreshing greeness to this scent. I like it!

I have this in a 30ml size bought when I was looking for a vanilla based scent. 15 years later, I now find this too sweet and strong for my taste. The vanilla is overwhelming and powdery. Will be passing this on to my teenage daughter who may enjoy it more.

Sad it's no longer available. This was one of my favorites for a couple of years. I loved the soft vanilla sweetness, it lasted on me for hours, always had lots of compliments. It's a very simple fragrance, but I think that's what I liked about it.

Got this in a very lovely swap here. I forgot how much I adore this scent! Opens with a sweet powdery lilac and drys down into something more vanilla/creamy and mellow. Great sillage, was smelling it on my wrist even after taking a bath!

I'm usually not a huge fan of vanilla but this one is soft and cozy. I get a compliments whenever I wear it. I have very little left in my bottle and use it quite sparingly.

love this scent but does not last long :'( but its still a favourite of mine ,you can still get it in uk - Boots Quiet expensive too next one i want in vanilla from Lush.

My all time favorite. I just hate that it's sometimes tough to find. Not too strong, but rich, creamy and pretty for hours on end.

Not too sweet. A faint smell of vanilla coke if you ask me, like a fizzy vanilla. Perfect for everyday wear.
