Ordination

Opening is strong, tart rhubarb and a powdery accord. To me, this combination smelled a bit like a baby wipe at first, but my boyfriend described it as smoky, so he was getting wood notes that I wasn't initially able to pick up. Drying down, the sharp, slightly sour rhubarb remains at the top but begins to blend with earthy wood and very quiet florals. At this stage, I get a bit of a hay smell, which is very pleasant and outdoorsy. After an hour or so, the perfume smells to me like rhubarb and a comfortable sweater, and it stays that way for the duration of wear. Very wearable, very unisex, very cosy. It stays close to the skin, which I think works really well for this scent, because the rhubarb is just on the brink of being overpowering/headachey. The scent is clean but not soapy after the initial dry down. I've seen at least one review of this perfume saying the smell disappeared immediately, but this was not my experience. Longevity is notably good for such a subtle smell, especially with a tart, green note like rhubarb. This scent is unique but also very comforting, really great for everyday wear.
